Place is fine-neither good nor bad. It is very near the town of Lahaina which is a great jumping off point for all sorts of activities from scuba to shopping. My room did not have internet and they couldn't get it for me. (They have individual modems from the cable company for each room. Some rooms have wifi but that's because those rooms are privately […] owned and the owners have wifi.) I wouldn't care so much but I had made a deal with my boss. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor, ocean front. The hotel is very close to the water so sleeping with the balcony door open was great in terms of hearing the surf. The whales were plentiful and visible from the balcony. The location was a short walk from restaurants and shopping, yet not excessively noisy. The hotel was great. Loved the location and the grounds were very nice. It seemed to attract an older crowd but that was ok. The pool was wonderful and it was just steps away from the beach. Excellent location, Great ocean views from upper floor. Nice pool/beach area. Overall a quiet experience with no loud-crying children. I would stay here again if in Lahaina as compared to the other nearby resorts, I feel it is a great value. If you are expecting a five star resort with staff waiting on you hand-and-foot serving coctails by the pool, go elsewhere. Our second time to Maui we were looking to stay in Lahaina. This cannot be beat. Great location, well appointed rooms. Excellent staff. Short walk to town and great restaurants. It is not a resort. It is a well appointed condo building. We had ocean veiw and mountain view, the ocean view on an upper floor is top choice.

This joint seems to be riding only on past glory, with nothing done currently to keep up the reputation. The lobby and common areas are clean. But thats NOT where I stay and sleep and bathe. Upon check in the front desk (Bill) was very helpful & nice. I did not know however that there was a maintenance man in my room so upon opening the door I was startled by him. He told me to come in that he was finishing up a job under the kitchen sink. I felt a little apprehensive when the door closed behind me with a total stranger in the room but […] decided to chance the possibility that he was not a serial killer or anything 8-} I left to go meet my husband and returned at dusk to find the lamps without bulbs and could not turn on. I had to call maintenance to resolve this which was done right away. Overall I enjoyed the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. The balcony opened to the mountains which was a nice view to wake up to in the morning. Allysa was nice enough to let us store our luggage upon check out so we could do a bit of sightseeing before leaving Lahaina. All staff were very helpful and friendly. So, with the exception of the initial entry into the room and the missing light bulbs we had an enjoyable stay and would return for a possible longer stay in the future. On a side note, unbeknownst to me, the front desk placed a $ hold on my account at check in. Today, two days after check out I noticed this withdrawal on my e-bank I was never told this was going to happen and will have to call the resort for clarification. Read more

Room was clean and well maintained. We could have used the overhead fan but it was not working. If I come to this hotel again, I would request an ocean view room. Staff was very helpful on places to eat. Location was in easy walking distance to Front street stores. We walked several times a day to the stores and restaurants.

Located on the more private area of lahaina. On the same street of the local shops, restaurants, and hang out spots. The resort is a few feet from the beach. Ocean front rooms are available with full kitchens and offer an amazing view of sunrise and sunset. Would recomend this resort to everyone.

Great location if you want to walk to local shops and restaurants. The hotel is on the beach and all you need to do is walk out the back gate and your right there on the beach. The beach is quiet and private, without much frills (don't expect white sandy beaches you see on post cards). Has a very local feel. Very very disappointed with the cleanliness […] of the hotel room. The bath tub had stains at the bottom and still had hair on the sides of the tub. The ceiling fan also had hair stuck to the blades. The daily cleaners did not remove any sand from the sink counter or remove dirty wash rags in the tub, which tells me that they did not clean the bathroom, but only left folded towels. The air conditioner and refrigerator was loud and kept us up all night. Could not adjust the air conditioner because it was set and locked to 75 degrees, so it did get a little warm in the room at time. It has a full kitchen with standard size refrigerator so it's good for people who plan to cook their own meals during their stay. The location is really the only thing I liked about the hotel. Lahaina Shores was the perfect place for our vacation. We had a beach front studio that had an unobstructed view of the ocean. We slept with the doors open so that we could hear the crashing of the waves at night. It was so peaceful. There is a luau next door so that gets a little noisy during the evening, but the property is pretty quiet at night. […] The staff was very friendly. My husband and I went to Maui for 9 days. We had been there once before, to the north of Kaanapali. This time we decided to stay in/near Lahaina. It was a great idea! We were SO close to everything. All restaurants and bars are in walking distance to this resort. We especially loved the 3 restaurants next door, all from the I'O company. Each one different […] and delicious. Our accommodations were very good. We had a lanai (balcony) with an ocean front view with was sensational. The room was cleaned when we wanted it cleaned, with new towels and new shampoos. No conditioner or body lotion though (so bring your own!). The reception staff was very friendly. There is a lovely pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ's on the side. Only 2 BBQs though. Because we went in May there weren't many people staying at the resort, but I suppose during the height of the season there are lines at the BBQ. Would definitely stay there again!! Read more

I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel is far enough away from downtown Lahaini too be nice and quiet, but not to far to walk to different places. I liked walking into the lobby and seeing the pool and then just threw the gate you would be on the beach. Beautiful views. The hotel is only 6 floors, so is not too large.

Old hotel needs some work - worn carpets and the oldest, shabbiest stove I've ever seen. Location was on 4th floor on the corner which had an ocean view but was adjacent to local bars. Very, very noisy until early morning. Just needs some overall repairs.
