"Lovely Villas, but no elevators for 2nd floor acce"

Our only complaint was: had we had known ahead of time that we would be placed on the second floor with no elevator access, we probably would not have stayed there. This was a perfect location and a spacious accomodation for our family. We appreciated the ability to close doors in between the living and bedroom areas, as well as the variety of patio areas and outside access. This is a big golf resort with suites/villas units looking the golf course ,I took the club suite option and it was lake and golf course view and it was amazing vista. "Convenient seclusion, but no sleep"
This lovely property appeared to be a nice escape from the day-to-day, close to Disney, but removed from the usual crowded hotel zones. In fact, it took us exactly 10 minutes to get from our front door to the EPCOT parking lot. NOTE: Parking is free, but they do charge resort fees which are not included in what you pay to Expedia. The pool and public […] areas were very clean. The pool area would not be especially appealing to children, as this is not a family-focused resort. I believe the room we stayed in, 2052, to be the unused lock-off room and bath of a larger condo. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Too bad I could not sleep! Around midnight, the guest upstairs began pacing the floor like a caged animal, keeping me awake most of the night. Sometime around 6:30 am I called security. Around 7 am we heard the guest leave down the stair that was outside our room. To add an insult to this injury, the shower head was turned so that it sprayed cold water in my face and all over the floor when I turned it on. Was this deliberate on the part of the housekeeping staff? I can't think who else would be responsible. I doubt that I will return, even though I visit Orlando frequently. This might be the perfect resort for guests who want to golf and who don't have children, but ask to stay upstairs, and check that shower head before you turn on the water. The resort fee covers various amenities around the resort including wireless internet, parking, 24 hour transportation around the resort, shuttle service to the theme parks, use of our driving ranges and practice facilities, bicycle rentals, use of the pool and amenities at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, boat rentals, and catch and release fishing - just to a name a few of the amenities. It is very disappointing for us to read that you had difficulty sleeping due to the guests in the room above yours. We are also disappointed to read that you experienced an incident with the shower head being turned outward. We have spoken with our Executive Housekeeper to make sure all of our housekeeping staff are checking to make sure the shower heads are facing the correct direction while cleaning the bathrooms. "It's the little things that count"
There's little doubt that the Grand Cypress has the feel of a resort destination, but there are some defiant chinks in the armor that illustrate that at present, they do not deserve a 4 star rating. The room that we checked into had a musty odor, it had only 2 towels for a scheduled accommodation of 4 people, and when we requested additional towels, […] the order was never filled. Combine that with exuberant neighbors who allowed their kids to rev up for Disney at 5:30 AM, and one could guess that this review would be less than favorable. I will say that the subordinate staff seemed efficient and courteous, while the desk staff/management seemed more inclined to apologize for mishaps, instead of acting to make corrections. "Wish we could have stayed longer!"
The Villas of Grand Cypress were beautiful! Secluded and quiet. The perfect place to rest and relax after a long day either at the Disney parks or golfing. The last week in September was a great time to go to this hotel. The Villas had a full time chef to prepare anything you wanted on the menu 24/7. We loved the food! This is a very nice resort, although I do not play golf! For families, it compares favorably with Port Orleans and Riverside right next door. "Horrible"
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and every night there was a noise problem. When management was called we were told "Sorry but there is nothing we can do" Unfortunately we booked on a non-refundable rate and had no choice to complete our stay. "Simply not for us...Disney travellers beware"
Maybe a semi-nice resort for a golfing experience. The purpose of our trip was for a romantic getaway and to visit Disney Attractions while staying at an off-resort secluded property for relaxation at the end of the day. The room was grossly overpriced for the lack amenities. We didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. Parking is limited and we couldn't […] find any spots on several occasions. Ice was dirty. The lake and 'romantic' patio area outside the room were in shabby condition. There is nothing to do at the resort after 7pm, unless you want to dine at an expensive restaruant. No food place/bar is within easy walking distance of the resort. MOST activities that the resort mentions require travelling to Hyatt hotel a mile down the road, which is not something you want to do at the end of a long day just to pass 45 mins. There is a daily resort fee for access to all these amenities whether you use them or not. The only thing noteworthy about the resort to mention is the free beverage on check-in. Nice touch. Overall, for a better disney experience I suggest staying on a disney property may be more worth the money. The villa we stayed in was decent. The kitchen is outdated. Most people get a villa for the convenience of having the full kitchen just like we did. Unfortunately we ended up going to the local discount store to buy some general cooking utensils and pans as it did not come stocked with spatulas.cookie sheet,pizza pan, can opener, or even a medium sized […] cooking pan. We got a two bedroom villa through Expedia to get a discounted rate. When it came to check out we were informed that there was a daily resort fee of 20 dollars per bedroom. OUCH. That's an extra night at a hotel we could paid for elsewhere! Paying 40 bucks a day in resort fees doesn't even guarantee you a parking space. We went to Disney on a Wednesday and came home at 10pm to find all spots in our area full. When we drove over to the other lots they were full too! The parking is in a circle so if you park on the curb around it you are directly behind a car. Not the most comforting thing to do when you have a rental car. When we went to the office to complain they told you that you are not guaranteed a spot. Paying 40 bucks a night and having a gated hotel shouldn't you be guaranteed? How about assigning a spot to each villa and only allowing so many guests on the property? Management was rude and defensive when we brought this up. I would not stay at the villas again after the ridiculous fees. My first day there I accidentalY left my coin purse on the table..guess what disappeared. ALL MY CHANGE!!! We are in the process of creating a sign to place inside all of the Villas so that our guests are made aware of this. We do charge a nightly resort fee to cover various amenities around the resort. Some of these amenities include complimentary wireless internet, complimentary use of our driving range and practice holes, complimentary use of our nine-hole pitch-and-putt, complimentary boat rentals on Lake Windsong, complimentary bicycle and fishing pole rentals, complimentary use of a 24-hour fitness facility, two pools, and many other amenties around the resort. It is disappointing to read that you experienced difficulty with parking, and I will meet with our Security and Transportation manager to see how we can remedy that problem for nights where we are at full occupancy. I was traveling with my 3 children and there was no place to get a quick snack or even breakfast other then room service. The pool at the villas was beautiful but if you go after 6 there were no towels for guest use. The rooms were large and clean. In response to your concerns about finding a quick snack we do offer several options including 24-hour room service, as you mentioned. We also have a full snack and beverage bar at the pool and our Club Restaurant which serves from 7 AM to 11 PM. In addition to these options, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has additional food and beverage options.
