The hotel is close to the beach and easy access to bus service. They have free use on Pink Line bus. They give you a discount book to stores and restaurants in the area which is helpful. They definitely need to refurbish the rooms. Our slider on our patio didn't open. They came and fixed it , but it only lasted a day and it was jammed again. The shower […] head sprayed you in the face and needed replaced. They are suppose to refurbish in September. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for its price point"
Totally met my expectations as the big wow factor for this hotel is location and price point. Loved, the fact you could get a free ride on the trolley to save on walking time and maximize the lounging by the pool timeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay was great, check-in was smooth, very clean room and the hotel is close to almost everything you need, my room although small was very nice with a view of the beach!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the price of the hotel."
We enjoyed our stay we picked Ohana Waikiki West because it was afforable, close to the beach and it also allowed access to part of the Waikiki Trolley for free making it easy to get around a large part of Waikiki. The down side was the slow elevator. At least we were on the second floor so it was not too bad. But the elevator took 10 minutes sometime […] weather we were in the lobby or on our floor. Also it was advertised as free internet access. When we arrived there was free wi-fi but we didn't have a computer and to use the computers in the lobby there was a charge. In general it was great for hte price and it was a clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Doing the best with what they have"
The staff was friendly. The room was spacious with a king bed. But upon entering, the musty smell of the the room was overwhelming. We knew in advance from other comments that this might be an issue. What was equally bad was the smell inside of the two dressers that we needed to use for the two weeks we were staying there. We purchased Febreze spray […] for the carpets and dresser drawers and kept the patio door open for the first couple of days and it did get a little better. This hotel desperately needs to tear out the carpets and update the furniture. I loved the size of the room and the bed was clean and comfortable but I would not stay there again due to the musty smell in the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was pretty average. But loved the location. A 5 minute walk to waikiki beach!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice room for the price"
Needed a nice room that didn't break my budget. This fit the bill. Friendly staff. nice location near Waikiki. Would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Upon check in I found the hotel manager to be rude when asking for a rollaway bed even though we were paying for an extra guest. Seems like she didn't want to bother with anything out of the ordinary. When calling to report the electrical plug in the room that wasn't working, nothing was ever done to come check it or repair it. We were just ignored. […] I would avoid this hotel and look else where even if you have to pay a little more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Ohana West is an excellent choice for the budget-minded vacationer. Not 5 star but also not shabby. The location could not be better other than on the beach. It's a short walk to Waikiki beach plus a few steps from Starbucks, pharmacy, grocery, mini mart. I found the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms to be acceptable. Once we convinced the front […] desk on check-in that we did not want their version of an "upgrade" everything was fine. Wish there was internet in the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Front Desk Personnel Lack Customer Service Skills"
Convenient location, clean rooms, and a bit overpriced for type of facility. Front Desk reception not very pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Feels like a budget hotel"
Parking garage is extremely tight, back into your spot. Very close to everything on Waikiki. Bathrooms need updating, showers are small and old. Try to stay on a lower level, elevators are very slow and always full. Clean and safe hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mmmmm...not so great."
Upon arrival, although I booked my stay in advance through expedia...the front desk receptionist wasn't able to pull up a reservation. After close to 45 minutes of waiting and getting the run around, we finally got keys to our room after the manager personally needed to call expedia ....aaaand the room was not as we requested and paid for o__0. If you […] need a place to crash and dont mind an average rated cleanliness rating for a room, go for it. The location is great though...right in the middle of most major stores. Very pleasant stay, ideal transportation and location.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was fine, nothing to write home about and smaller than I expected. It is was nice to be only a few blocks from pretty much everything in the Waikiki area. Our room was right next to the hotel bar, so there was a lot of noise until late at night - that was disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is terrible need of an renovation. The room condition retakes you back to the 80'sGenuine Expedia guest review
The maid was terrible! Didn't even make the bed properly and a napkin I purposely left by my bed on the floor remained there every day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"location good, litle bit tired, room small but ok."
we stay just one night,so, not use many facilities. But everything is well.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location was convenient for access to everything we wanted. My wife loved the water pressure for washing her hair. The maid service was exceptionally friendlly saying hi (aloha) with a smile everyday. The rooms were clean and not odor. Don't rent a car, the parking costs $25 per day and trolleys and tour busses are too cheap to justify the little […] use. Parking around Honolulu is really difficult. I will recommend the Ohana West Hotel to others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel for decent price"
Location is of course great . I was initially worried after checking out other reviews. But we had a comfortable stay there. Rooms were large enough. Heating was good. Parking available at 25 $ per day. Pink shuttle to the mall was for free. Bad: no wifi, small bathroom, could have had more comfortable mattresses and one lady at the reception desk […] was rude. "Filthy carpets, old baths"
That was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The entire facility old and run down. The green carpets were filthy with horrible dark stains all over. "Older Budget Hotel"
Older rooms, small showers only, very small bathrooms. No WIFI all you get it the old wired internet. Everything did work and they are maintained. I would stay again. Elevators are always a long wait as they are too fee elevators for the number of rooms. Small pool also not really child friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good place to stay"
Convenient location. Garage. Swimming pool. Kitchenette. Balcony with chairs and nice view. Enough space and furniture. And many good things else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Be prepared for long elevator waits but other than that a great place for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
I booked the hotel via Hotels.com three hours prior to the check-in. When I arrived to the hotel, the receptionist said there was no reservation for me and the confirmation number I got from Hotels.com was not enough. He told me that I was supposed to receive the hotel confirmation number. He told me to call the website and get the confirmation number. It […] turned out that he simply forgot to check the fax machine. There was my reservation. However, instead of apologizing to me that he forgot to check the fax machine, he even added more complains that I did not give him my hyphenated name (which I DID when first arrived to the hotel). My hyphenated name had nothing to do with the fact he forgot to check the fax. He was disorganized and treated my ID very roughly. He even dropped it in between the computer and desk while looking for something, and did not realize that he misplaced my ID. When I FINALLY complained that he should be careful with my ID, he talked back to me that I can go to someone else if I do not like him. I had the feeling that he was drunk or intoxicated based on his unusually ill-mannered behaviors. The hotel itself was pretty good. The location was convenient and the room was clean and cozy. The facility was not a brand new but the place was a good deal and comfortable. I just really surprised that almost felt mystified by how the receptionist treated me. "OHANA Waikiki West"
The OHana West is an older property, but is well maintained. It is owned by an upscale chain (Outrigger) so the service is excellent. The location is a few blocks from the public beach, but is good for shopping and restaurants. The elevators can get a little crowded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff but, hotel needs to be renovated."
The staff is always very friendly here and the location is unbeatable. However, the rooms need to be renovated or remodeled because the wall paper is starting to come off the walls and the showers need to have an overhaul on them as well some of them have mildew in them and the paint is peeling off. The parking garage is very tight and if you have a […] larger car than a small Ford you are going to have trouble parking in the slots. The garage charges $25 per day and as a guest you are not even guaranteed a slot when you get back at the end of the day. There is garage down the street that charges $20 a day but you have to walk back to the hotel where you are staying. We have stayed here about 10-12 times in the last 8 yrs and found it okay we are not in the room that much and the rooms are quite big and have a kitchenette if you ask for that type of room. One thing I would suggest is that you do not stay on the floor right above the country bar as the music goes until 2am. Other than that we have never had any noise problems. The pool is nice nothing fancy but, very refreshing. It's just one block from the beach and across the street from the International Market. GREAT location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Location a plus, everything else was ok."
Front desk service and house keepers were friendly. They were strict about the rooms, who goes into and out of hotel. Security checked for hotels keys, id's, etc. Lots of traffic through hotel, always a line for the elevator. refrigerator was broken on arrival but was taken care of in a timely manner. Kitchenette had your bare necessities, 1 pot, 1 […] pan, bottle opener and some forks, butter knives and spoons. No utensils to cook with. Room kind of small, beds were full size not doubles. "Hotel location is great! Room & bathroom too small"
Great location. Convenient to shopping. Room & bathroom too small. Hotel needs renovation to make it more up to date. The TV sound keeps dropping of. Replace bedspreads too old & stains. Replace carpets would be nice too. Need more elevators. Only 3 elevators for 300 guests. Elevator too slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for a short stay"
This hotel is across the street from the International Market (which , sadly will be closing in December this year). Also very close to other shopping area's. "Good location and place for the price"
Convenient location for the price. Tried to print boarding pass and another concession runs the computers. Hotel staff said they couldn't help. Had to pay for internet usage and for printing boarding pass. Was extremely frustrating to have to pay twice because time ran out. Then in the end the computer didn't print out all our boarding passes. We came […] back from our cruise and back to the hotel at 8 a.m. They would have stored our luggage until 3 p.m. check-in time. However they offered us an upgrade for $20.00 and we could go to another room right away. That allowed us to take a nap and have access to our luggage. That was nice.
