"Great hotel for everyone."
Just got back from a 12 day stay. The hotel is perfectly located, across the street from the International Market, stores, shops, restaurants and a 5 minute walk to Waikiki Beach itself. The pool bar and pool area were fun, all of the staff were very friendly and the service was above and beyond. The only complaint we have is the elevators (lifts). […] Very small cars and almost always a long wait to get on/off. Sometimes having to wait 2 or 3 times to get on and that's with 3 elevators running. Other than that, for the price paid, one heck of a deal. We'd go back and recommend the Ohana West. If you can, book on the east side of the hotel (back) for little to no noise and still a nice view. If you book on the ocean side (west), you'll have the bars, street, traffic and pool noise. PS. It's not a brand new hotel, but well kept. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"average with some flaws"
This hotel was just average. It was OK for an economy hotel. I have some minor complaints. First 25$ a night to park in their tiny parking garage is ridiculous. Pool closes at 8pm which is too early. Pool Towels are not on the same floor as pool. There is no hot tub. Exercise room is tiny. DO NOT eat at their Chilis. They are about 30% more expensive […] than other Chilis restaurants. Eat at loco moco or zippys. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, great location"
This hotel was in a great location, next to shopping and the international marketplace. The hotel was older, and didn't have all of the ameneties that one of those new super fancy resorts has, but if you come to Hawaii for the hotel rooms, you have issues. The location was awesome, a couple of minutes walk from the beach and we loved every second!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gets the job done"
great location. good room. ok bathroom and not so good service. But for the price you are placed in a great location right in the heart of Waikiki. A stroll to the beach, right in front of the international market. and a quick bus ride to Diamond head and other shopping area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay!"
The staff were all very helpfull and we had a great experience at this hotel. Perfect location for the price!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Its ok for the price"
Dont expect too much out of tgis hotel. Location is good. Rooms were not too big and bathrooms were wayy too small. Its as good as 2-3 star hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just ok hotel"
Only location was good, The room we stayed You can hear the conversation from next room. Laundry machine some are not working. Soda machine , when we put $ 5 to buy soda. We got 50c back. When we report that they said they are Not part of it. Reception were just ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for people who are on a budget"
Service from front desk is severely lacking. Couldn't get anyone to fix air conditioner and refrigerator. Hotel is in need of upgrade.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing hotel somewhat close to beach"
I was not impressed with the hotel. The rooms are small. Beds are not comfortable. No desk. Bathroom had lots of rust spots and such. Very small bathroom. Not a three star hotel. Not a resort.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to the beach"
The hotel was okay. Would not want to stay too long.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and price"
I gave it a pleasing because of the low price, large spacious room size and location. The elevators are slow but, your on vacation so you have a few minutes to wait fir them. The rooms need a really good overhaul such as cleaning in the cracks and corners, scrubbing down the showers and maybe redoing the torn wallpaper.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not too shaby"
After reading the reviews, we were expecting a lot worse. Really wasn't that bad for the price. We were on the 1st floor which was great because the pool and bar was right out down the hall and we didn't have to wait for the elevators. We faced the back which was nice and quiet but horrible view of a dirty alley and parking lot. We just kept our drapes […] shut. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place in best location"
Friendly staf in the best location. Free ride tickets to pink line (bus), Clean. We recommend this hotel. Unfortunately this hotel was full , and two weeks later we stayed in Waikiki Sand Villa two blocks away. The staff in this last hotel was really unfriendly, was more expensive and too much old.Genuine Expedia guest review
Carpets are old and we can noise from the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff is very nice, Great location, close to everything shopping, The beach! chillis is downstairs and there is a rooftop bar and pool! The only downside is the rooms are small and outdated espeically the bathrooms the shower was sooo small and the shower head barely moved you had to crunch into the corner to wash your hair. But I guess who […] stays in they're room the whole time when in HAWAII! I would stay here again it is pretty well priced and has good location Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Water did not drain from bath. Bedspreads were dirty. There was an I welcomed odor. It was close to the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for people on a budget"
You really get what you pay for with Ohana Waikiki West. Location is great, just across the street from the International Market and two streets down from Waikiki Beach. Rates run cheaper than most hotels around the area, and parking at $25 a day is expensive but is the market rate around Waikiki. There are three working elevators that are actually […] pretty fast, but considering the number of rooms/people/and floors it needs to cover, they do get pretty backed up. The hotel/rooms are a little dated but not dirty. Our room was always kept clean by the wonderful and nice maids that work there. To be honest, who goes to Hawaii to stay in the hotel??? It's the perfect stay for anyone who just needs a clean place to shower and sleep without any frills. I'd definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for price"
We had twenty people travel in our group. We asked to stay on the same floor but did not accompany this. The rooms were small but good for what you pay for. Our room wAs a little over 100. The pool area looked nice but we did not make it down. Within walking distance of almost all the shops and Waikiki beach. Bus required to go to diamond headGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at OHANA Waikiki West Hotel for 9 days. During our stay the cleaning staff always made sure our room was clean and we had clean fresh towels. The only thing that was a little discouraging was the wait time on the elevators. The pool area was clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Works for me"
Enjoyed my week stay. The hotel was fine especially like the central location. The staff was helpful and Kea at the front deck was very good. Not too enthused about the elevators as they were crowded and often very slow. Disappointed there was not WiFi in the rooms and had to go down to the lobby to use I-Pad. The parking was quite expensive. All in […] all the hotel was fine for as little time I spent there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
There was construction going on outside our room. They were digging the street up, traffic was backed up and you could smell the sewer. The bathroom shower was too small. But the staff was very helpful and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice for holiday stay"
This hotel is an older, but nice hotel and has all of the immediate amenitites needed for your stay. This is the second time I've stayed at Ohana Waikiki West. The location is good, it is withing walking distance of everything. The hotel also has a Chili's restaurant and pool bar with sandwiches if you want to stay on premises.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, but dumpy."
The room was clean, but the bathroom was cramped with a tiny shower stall, no bath. The elevators were painfully slow and the view was of a rather ugly building near by. But the price was good for Honolulu.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central, convenient and comfortable."
This is an excellent & affordable hotel that is in the middle of things. Very comfortable room. The only problem is that there is only hard wired internet available in the room (free) -- good for lap-tops but no good for iPads. There is however, good quality WiFi in the comfortable lobby area. The room and staff are great and very welcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was there for 2 nights. Overall was comfortable. Beds good not old and lumpy. Wifi needs updating I couldn't get on with my kindle. Bathroom needs up dated but everything worked well. Staff was friendly and location was nice close to beach, shopping and market. The city could work on increasing police and etting rid of some of the riff raff like delinquent […] youth selling drugs on the street. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small room with a nice ocean view"
Great location in Waikiki. Room was small but didn't spend much time in it. Room had a refrigerator, safe and a nice size TV. Parking was $25/dayGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki West Thank you for providing the OHANA Waikiki West hotel with a great score. Although we are unsure of who you are, your comments are appreciated. On behalf of the management and staff, we are appreciative of your decision to stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Mahalo, OHANA Waikiki West Management
"Top choice for the money"
I've stayed at the Ohana Waikiki West several times now. The location is excellent as it is only two blocks from the beach. The rooms have free cable Internet but there is also Wifi in the lobby. All rooms have a small fridge, coffee maker and an in-room safe. Your hotel key allows you to board the Pink Line trolley service that takes you to a few locations […] including Ala Moana mall. In you want to see more of the island, the hotel is convenient to many bus stops ($2.50 fare including one transfer). If you snorkel, I recommend Hanauma Bay or Shark's Cove on the North Shore. If you are on a real tight budget and can travel with one light bag or backpack, it's possible to take the bus from Honolulu airport to Ohana Waikiki West (about 45 minute ride) but note that they don't usually allow luggage on buses. TIP - Skip the IHOP and try breakfast or lunch at Eggs 'N Things. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed our stay. The people were friendly and the room was so comfortable. We also enjoyed the kitchenette and proximity to the beach. The price was better than most hotels because of their stay 3 nights and the 4th night's free deal. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was the slow elevator. But no problem […] on Hawaii time! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"There are probably better options elsewhere"
Within the standard prices for Waikiki, this hotel is standard in terms of what it offers and what it charges. However, specific issues with my room included a shower that was just one side of the bathroom (such that the water went everywhere all over the floor), its location overlooking Kuhio Avenue (where there was a mini-riot one night and general […] excessive noise on Friday and Saturday nights), and the day bell desk staff member who was extremely confrontational and unprofessional. I would not stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good place to stay"
The staff was friendly, the room was clean. The only issue I could see was no in room wireless. But that is as advertised, they did have wired service in room and wireless in the lobby. The beach is just minutes walk from the hotel, there are plenty of shops around, a grocery store just across the street. The only problem with the kitchenette was my […] room had no pans to cook with. I didn't ask if I could get some from the hotel, so they might be available upon request. Overall this was a great hotel for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I am seventy years old, and have stayed in quite a number of hotels. I would have to say that the Ohana West, in my opinion, is rated in the bottom one percent of the hotels that I have stayed in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Third visit to this hotel...hope to make it four!"
We had stayed at this hotel in 1973 and 1986 when it was the Outrigger West. We returned because of good experiences during those previous visits. Room was small and bathroom even smaller than we remembered but still quite sufficient for the two of us. Of course the facility had been updated (probably more than once) since our last stay. Updates appeared […] fresh and attractive. Staff was great. There were always enough people at the front desk to minimize waiting and they seemed eager to help. Every question was answered from local customs to which bus to take. The International Market Place rear entrance is right across the street so we were able to sample local cuisine reasonably at their food court. Condo sales people in the lobby and on the streets were pleasant but persistant. (Just say "No thank you") We did book a tour with the Expedia person in the lobby and it was great. We will return to this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We liked to have a kitchenet in the room. Weliked to have a balcony even without the view to put our wet clothes to dry after swimming. But we found old food from the guests that had staid in the room before us. Often the garbage was left and not taken out from our room. The staff was polite and helpful when asked. The rooms were big and had everything […] that we needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Waiki really needs start thinking about renovating"
Seems like most of the hotels in waiki are old and ugly. This one is no different. On top of what you can find in every hotel were 3 very slow elevators that were really pain to ride with. I guess to have a nice hotel experience in Hawaii you need to really put some cash into it.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was good experience, good service, friendly environmental, we'll recommend our family and friends this hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
This is an older hotel, a block from the beech, where there are some of the worlds best hotels. However the rooms were comfortable if not luxurious. Value for money suited us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Best hotel to stay where the beach is close various restaurants to eat right at your door step. Perfect location for the first timer or repeater. I love this hotel. Highly recommend it. MaloGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good overall hotel for everyone"
I like this hotel for a few reasons. It has an affordable rate, and Waikiki Beach is only a short walk away through the Hawaiian Marketplace. The staff is friendly and always offering to help. I got a room with a small kitchenette, and a Foodland was right next door, so I saved a ton of money on food & drink. The pool bar on the second floor is a great […] place to have a drink, enjoy the weather, and watch sports. It has a laundromat on premises, so I got to wash some clothes (like swimtrunks) that needed washing. Besides the Foodland, there are several other useful stores only a few steps away like a Starbucks, a Subway, and a nice cheesesteak place called Ono Cheesesteaks that also has a nice Kahlua Pork plate. In short, this hotel is affordable and convenviently-located with a friendly staff and all basic ameneties. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Superb casual vacation value - value over luxury."
This stay at the Ohana West Hotel in Waikiki was one of the best values we've ever experienced. "Good stay at the hôtel Ohana Waikiki West"
Very Nice view fromage 8th floor, but very noisy at night because of traffic, people coming out from night club. I enjoyed staying at the hotel, it is cheap And close to the Waikiki activities. Employees at the hôtel are friendly. I will surelly come back.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel shuttle around Waikiki was handy to use, but often crowded. The concierge arranged my shuttle to the airport- $9 ride was well worth it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and Economical"
We have stayed here many times. We have tried others. Nothing beats the location, clean rooms, excellent service at affordable prices. We will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel for the price"
Hotel staff was extremely nice, especially Brian at the front desk. The only thing disappointing about this hotel was the maid service. We had a room with a kitchen (which was equipped with very few utensils) and it had no sponge or way to clean the dishes, leaving us to assume they would be cleaned for us. Our dishes were never cleaned, our trash was […] never picked up, and our trash cans were frequently not emptied. Other than that the room was very comfortable and nice.
