"Jack Hammer Hotel"
Heavy construction going on across street. Mind numbing loud all day and until 3pm on Saturday. They do however take off Sunday. If you have to stay here request city side only. "Decent hotel for the price"
We've been to Hawaii multiple times and decided to stay at the Ohana East because of pricing. The hotel seemed very dated. As soon as I walked in, it seems like it's had the same furniture decor for 20 years. The shower's wall had paint peeling and looked disgusting. The parking situation is embarrassing. There are approximately 40 parking spots underneath […] the hotel. Overflow parking will be forwarded to the World Trade Center, which is almost 2 blocks away. During our stay, it seems as if there was some type of construction going on. Throughout the day, you can hear furniture moving and someone pounding/drilling into the walls. The positive things about the hotel was that it was pretty central to everything in Waikiki. You're in walking distance to Waikiki Beach and the strip mall. If you're planning to hang around town, then this place would be perfect if you are more concerned with price. For us, the hotel is the last place we care to be on a vacation so this worked out well. "Ohana West the ideal location to stay on a budget"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 6 days and 5 nights. We had a room with a kitchenette which made all the difference in how much money we spent on food. The location is great especially utilizing the bus and shuttle services. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day. We were experiencing Honolulu, Hawaii on a budget and this hotel was great […] for that purpose. We enjoyed the bar near the swimming pool and it also had a very nice cabana to sit and relax. We could play games such as billiards and connect four. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Rooms are OK, but great location"
Good location to stay with easy access to the beach, shops and restaurants, but limited parking spaces and old elevators which go crazy sometime if you do not slide your room key before closing the door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Should future travel bring you back to Hawaii, we hope that you will give us another chance.
"A little older but nice"
The Ohana Waikiki West was an older hotel. It could use some upgrades but for the money and location you couldn't beat it. We even had a small kitchenette in our room. Placed right in the center of all of the Waikiki action and only blocks from the beaches. Everything that we needed was just footsteps away. There wasn't even need to rent a car because […] the hotel has you lined up with a trolley system right outside of the front door. Any activities that you want to do the activities center hooked you up with tickets and transportation. Loved it and will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"They really need to renovate this hotel"
Where to begin? So many negatives...No WiFi in the rooms (only wired interenet...who still brings their laptops on vacation?) Central A/C in the rooms that hardly works and an elevator that takes forever. Poolside cabana bar/restaurant was a joke. We ordered chicken wings to find out that the bartender is also the cook, she pulled a frozen bag of wings […] out and threw them in the microwave located behind the bar - need I say more? Our room looked like it belongs in Miami in the early 1980's, very outdated and there were no available outlets to plug in our phones - had to unplug the amps. Our bathroom was the smallest of any hotel I have ever stayed in and it smelled like mold and urine. The only positive part of our stay was the attentive and friendly housekeeper. Would NOT stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lack of Parking"
I wouldn't stay here again because I paid for parking and 2 of the 3 nights when we returned there wasn't any parking and we had to park in another area then walk back to the hotel and the area wasn't very safe. There was alot of unsafe people lerking in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"First Hawaii trip "STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL""
When we arrived to the hotel we were being tossed around where to park since there parking garage was full. Was sent to another garage stating they would not charge us there parking rate at the othe parking structure which was $35 and are hotel was $25. So what I expected I ended up paying $35 to release my car from the parking garage and to move it […] to are hotel parking. I let front desk know and manager Cindy what happen and only credited me $25 since they said they had no control of the prices there?!?! Serious?!? But yet told me to park there?!?! Ok that was part 1 part 2 my wife tried checking in to are room and was harassed by Donna saying I needed to be there to check in and she can't do anything about it until I get there..so I went to the front desk and checked in and showed my id and checked in and mind this I was still dealing with the parking garage situation on top of dealing with front desk. So checked in went to are rooms where it took 10mins!!! Yes 10mins to get to are room because only 1 elevator was working properly where the other stop was being occupied by the bell hop guys to bring luggage a up and not letting customers use them. Get to the room descent smells like Clorox was spilled all over the room. Turned ac on and about an hour later strata dripping water from the vents to the carpet!! Called maintenance came and fixed it after an hour of calling. This vacation was already looking bad. "Convenient location , two blocks from the beach"
Check- in was smooth and fast, we were able to get a room at noon! The smell of the room was terrible: urine mixed with the old rotten rugs. The furniture is so old that the smell of the drawers in a chest made us sick, so we had to keep our clothes in our bags. The bed was comfortable, clean sheets and towels. The housekeeping service was fine but […] they could do nothing about the smell. They need to replace the old staff , that's for sure. The elevators were working very slow , we were on the 4th floor and used the stairs most of the time . "Located in a great area"
The hotel is not the best but the location is great. We stayed here for a night before taking the cruise and it was sufficient for our needs. It's a close walk to the beach and shopping areas. I stayed here because I wanted to avoid spending so much on restaurants. So, this hotel works in that respect if you get a kitchenette room. "Best Value in Waikiki"
I'm always happy when I stay at any Ohana property. This stay in particular was good. I was so gratified when I showed up before noon not even expecting to be checked in and I was promptly checked in. I know the Front Desk woman was named Cynthia and she was so cute and nice. It reaffirms my thoughts that Ohana properties are the best hotels in Waikiki […] for the money. I have never had a bad stay at any Ohana property and I has extremely happy with this stay in particular. The location is one of the best in Waikiki with all the restaurants and shops and bars so close. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a decent hotel at a fair price. They never disappoint me. "Pick Another Place!"
The hotel was terrible, hot and over-crowded. The room was old, damp and hot with a poorly work evaporative cooler that leaked and lent a disturbing mildewed smell that was terrible. The lobby was dark and dank...all in all this place barely rated a 1 out of 5.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for beach and tours"
We had a good stay and yet we never did get internet to work in our room, only in the lobby. That didn't bother us much as we had it on our phones and we were on the go most of the time. Rooms are dirty with mold in shower. Light switches are filthy. Carpet hasn't been cleaned for a very long time.Genuine Expedia guest review
An older place with some quirks...Window air conditioning unit could barely keep up with the humidity. Pool hours a little restrictive. Parking is a friggin' nightmare! All entry is through the main lobby. Coupled with the sketchy parking, you could be hauling your luggage a long, long way, depending on your room location. Hotel is comfortable, nice restaurants around it, good shopping, clean and friendly. Easy walking to shopping, and somewhat close to the beach. On a very typical busy Honolulu street. I have been to Oahu more than 30 times and we usually stay at Marriott or Hilton that are 4 stars compared to Ohana which is a 3 stars hotel. It's like day and night This hotel should be remodeled because it is really outdated, The rooms smell with strong odor. If the air conditioning is on it has a strong smell of like cigarette smell. the carpet has […] cut and wholes and looks very dirty. The cover blankets looks very dirty. The bedsheets get replaced every 3rd or 4th night. the shower is small and has mold on the walls. This shower is not made for big people.
