"We loved the location. Very accessible to all."
We loved the condo. We were confused as we thought we had reserved a room at the Outrigger on the Reef. It was confusing that Waikiki Shores couldn't give us towels or anything because we were actually dealing with office support a block away. We would definitely book a stay at the Shores again. We had a couple of flying cockroaches the first day, but […] didn't see any after that. The bath tub backed up one afternoon. It drained in a few minutes but was gross. We did not like that housekeeping would just come into room with out announcing themselves and cleaned while we were on the balcony. Just not used to that type of housekeeping service. "Nice condo right inn the beach and close to everyt"
Condo had a wonderful view of the beach and sunsets. Walk out the door and onto the beach. Not too close to Waikiki, so less crowded. Easy walk or bus ride to everything . Loved the convenience. Would certainly return.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is the second time we have stayed here. I almost hate to give the hotel a glorious review, I want to be able to get a reservation when I want it! The location is terrific, right on the beach, with a great view of Fort Derussey park next door, and a great view of the fireworks on friday nights at Hilton Hawaiin Village. Easy to get to from the airport, […] and easy to exit to go explore the island. Lots to walk to, clean comfortable room. All you need at a reasonable price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
When I booked our trip to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, I thought, based on history, the Outrigger name would give me a great experience. Boy, I was wrong! When I checked in at the Outrigger on the Reef, I was told I was at the wrong hotel, but a bellman would be over shortly. We walked through the lobby of the Reef, to a service exit and […] made our way to the Outrigger Waikiki Shore...let's just say it's like going from a Nordstrom into a Kmart. Once we got to our room, I was MORTIFIED. The room smelled like old cheese and feet, the carpet was older than I am, and the bathtub...well, it's the size of my kitchen sink! I decided to let all of that go, and TRY to enjoy our stay. When I attempted to park my car myself, I was told self parking was no longer available for the week and I will have to pay the 35 dollar valet price. After the first night in the hotel, sleeping on a cement mattress and cinder block pillows, I decided I'd had enough. Nevermind the room I originally booked was supposed to be "Oceanside". Well, no. I had a "partial ocean view. I got to see a sliver of the ocean. I will NEVER book here, or any Outrigger property. I cancelled my reservation and moved to a different hotel for the remainder of our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great condo on the beach with amenities!"
We spent just 2 nights at this condo. It is a but confusing when you check in, because the Outrigger Reef is next to Waikiki Shore and neither is actually called the Outrigger Waikiki Shore. You check in at the Waikiki Shore and the bellman checks you in in the room. The location is excellent! Right on Waikiki Beach! We didn't rent a car in Waikiki […] and were glad we didn't have the hassle or extra cost. The rooms have everything you'd need with a full kitchen & personal washer/dryer. The walls are quite thin and the water pipes rattle when you or the neighbor showers, so it isn't a quiet place to stay (plus parties on the beach.) The pool, hot tub and fitness center are next door at the Outrigger Reef, which also has some good restaurants. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice room with a full kitchen. Very limited maid service but you can call if you need anything. We didn't see one for 3 days.We had a room with 2 twin beds. Small, but surprisingly comfortable. Only used the room to sleep and shower. Great ocean views! Located right on the beach and steps away from the hotel next door where you can use their pool, & […] fitness room. Great location. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Not all amenities on site, had to go to sister hotel next door. Nice to have kitchen facilites and washer / dryer in unit.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location. Bathroom a bit old style but clean and tidy as one would expect from a 3* hotel. Nice to have amenities like stove and washing machine when you are on a longer trip. Rooms have super views of the ocean and park next door. Verandas shady for most of the day which is nice as it gives respite from the direct sun.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I'll be back!"
Older style property but in great beachfront location. Could do with some TLC but everything functional. Kichenette a bonus and rare for beach front property. No on site check in for room booked ( needed to use foyer phone to arrange access) although being serviced apartments there was reception desk for other provider/managed rooms which was a bit frustrating. […] Wireless internet only available in sister property next door.If you're looking for 5 star go elswhere, but if you're prepared to overlook age of property and some access issues, you could do a lot worse. The Outrigger Reef next door - they are supposed to be working along with the waikiki shore to - would not even answer simple questions without defering for us to call the other location. When we wanted to store suitcases - we were first told it was not possible by the Reef then instead of walking away with our dejected tails between our legs we pushed […] further to discover(as we were told by the Outrigger wiakiki shore) that we could store our suitcases.... Possibly the arrangement should be reviewed and the staff refreshed on the arrangement. It would have made us feel more welcome. As well the lady that was on staff in the lobby at the Waikiki shore was terrible. Before she even knew who we were she made us wait for her to get off the phone (an OBVIOUS personal call) with laughing and eating as she spoke. We were standing right in front of her. she made us wait ...... 15 min! Then after waving us in the direction of the phone we needed to use to call the Outrigger waikiki shore she called up someone else and started complaining about a staff memeber in front of us. She, although not staffed by the waikiki shore, does (unfortunately) give a guest thier first impression of the vacation. Her employer should know she has NO proffesionalism. BUT as far as the Outrigger Waikiki shore - AWESOME SERVICE - OVER THE PHONE, THE STAFF MEMBER THAT GREETED US - THE MAID SERVICE ETC. - might need to make the stove more presentable though.... "Staying in Waikiki - no better view !"
The view is just something you won't find anywhere else - particularly from the higher floors. Having a washing machine / dryer in the room with a small kitchen was a godsend, having just travelled across the mainland and needing to get some clean clothes organised. Coming home with a 'clean' suitcase was great too. As they always say ... location, […] location, location ... and my wife just loved the view!! The two single beds pushed together to make a King size bed was a bit 'ordinary' with mine being quite 'saggy' and in need of replacement ... but did I mention the view?? Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Expedia guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review

Having previously stayed next door at Outrigger Reef on the Beach we booked this to give us more flexibility as we were travelling with 2 preschoolers, but were extremely disappointed. There is no Outrigger front desk so any communication (check in/questions etc) have to be done by phone. The unit itself was very basic and in desperate need of updating. The fold out couch was so dirty I was nervous about the children sleeping on it. The blinds in the unit were filthy and not working properly. We had to call maintenance one night to get them to even close. There was no information provided in the unit about service available, pool use, internet access or even how to check out! Staff next door at Reef on the Beach treated us like impostors when we asked for pool towels or made any inquiries. Overall this property was well below what we would normally expect from Outrigger. It was very over priced and the only things this it has going for it are the views and the front row seats for the free Hilton fireworks show. If ocean views aren't important much better quality condos at better prices and with better service can be found in Waikiki.

This is the only beachfront condo in Waikiki. Can't beat a 100 foot walk to the sand. Quiet, secure building offered a great peaceful vacation. We stayed in a studio apartment which afforded us the opportunity to eat in, saving high costs of dining out. Ideally located within walking distance of Hilton Hawaiian Village, myriad shopping opportunities along Kalakaua Ave. Underground parking is great at an extra cost. Enjoy sunsets from the balcony. Resort provides beach towels and beach accessories, like lounges, umbrellas, surf and boogie boards, can be rented on the beach from a private vendor. We will return when we need to "recharge" in paradise.

Waikiki Shore 6 June-18 June 2014 We had stayed at Waikiki Shore before about four years ago in a Park View One Bedroom unit with a proper separate bedroom i.e. a solid wall not a pull across divider. This time we decided we wanted an Ocean View One Bedroom unit for which we paid happily an additional $1,500. Problem was when we got to the room on the 7th floor at 11pm, it was a partial ocean view and unlike the last unit only had a room divider not a separate bedroom. Plus on the Hotel.com website it stated and still does wired internet which we wanted for Skype. Next morning we were told by reception that no units had wired internet nor a proper separate bedroom which we knew was not true and “Ocean View” as far as they are concerned any unit above the 5th floor is classed as “Ocean View” They then offered us a two bedroom unit on the 2nd floor which we declined. We contacted Hotel.com but it took six weeks to artly resolve. Since we stayed there this time we found you can book through three different companies apart from the likes of Expedia, Hotel.com, which we used. The condo is managed by Outrigger which lets you use their pool next door, book through Castle and you can’t and Captain Cook Resorts which has the advantage you can see exactly what unit you are booking all the rest it seems to be pot luck. Each unit is owned separately and the level of comfort, appliances etc is what the owner is willing to put in. Rooms vary quite widely. The room we had on the 7th floor was clean, tidy and well equipped. If an Ocean View is important make sure you book an ocean front unit to make the most of the views not just an ocean view because as anything above the 5th floor is classed as ocean view and will give you at best an 90 degree view of ocean which is still pretty good for Waikiki. Rooms ending with 00 are ocean front and have panoramic views, including Diamond Head. The lower the last two digits, the closer to the beach We had no problems with the traffic noise in this unit nor the park view one either.

The accommodations were perfect for us. . Awesome view, easy and quick beach access. Beach towels. The grounds and building were clean and safe. Walking distance to anything and everything you need. We'll definitely be back ;)
"Service without a smile"

We went to Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii for a week and stayed at the Waikiki Shore Hotel which is assumed was a Beach front Room. (My Ladies first time there and wanted to give her a wonderful experience) We found out the Beach front mean't anything above the tree line. (First disappointment). the second was the attitude of the Hotel clerk, After he drilled us on the cannot do.. he also told us that if we didn't like the place we can go elsewhere. Room was clean but old and in disarray. Had no chose at this time but to stay. Called other Hotels the next day but none were available for Actual beach front rooms. So we tried to say away from this place as much as we can. We ate and enjoyed the neighboring hotel (Outrigger Reef). Book at Outrigger, Looks allot better both is service and Hotel design
"Great swimming beach for kids"
09/01/14 Annie116 Wellington
The far end of the beach has great safe swimming for children due to the concrete break water. The life guards are positioned closely and seemed very diligent. The homeless people sleep on the beach at night and I found this quite unnerving. But I really do have to say that they were no issue at all. Courteous and leave the tourists alone.
"Not worth the money"
08/24/14 Kerrie S Queanbeyan, Australia
We stayed here last August we paid a lot of money to have a beach front apartment also asked not to be on the bottom three floors ......... we were on the first floor just above the shops our vertical blinds were broken and pieces missing people on the beach front could look straight into our apartment (NO PRIVACY) and the bedroom ones would not shut the A/C did not work, the beds were not comfortable, The bath tub the inbuilt plug did not work and the maintenance man came to fix the bedroom verticals and said I cannot fix these I can put a Sheet up so that you have privacy I said that is not acceptable he then hand closed them and we were not able to open them the whole time during our stay, the lounge you could only sit one side and the other there was no support it sunk as soon as you sat on it .................... Needs a badly needed overhaul .............however the location is in a good spot
"Wouldn't stay anywhere else"
08/23/14 Mayse N Ottawa, Canada
We stayed in Waikiki Shore for 14 days, in apartment # 1116. I have nothing but good things to say. The apartment was beautiful. It was clean, well-decorated, and equipped with anything you may need, including a washer, dryer, dishwasher, towels, beach equipment, blankets, sheets, extra pillows, an air mattress, a sofa bed, detergent, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, WiFi, AC... Not sure if I'm forgetting anything. The bed and the sofa bed were both comfortable. Though the sofa bed is located right in front of the air conditioner, so if that's where you'll be sleeping, dress accordingly. The shower was clean and worked fine, but the water drained slowly. It was a little uncomfortable. The lanai (balcony) was a good size, with the most incredible view of the ocean/beach and the city, and that was probably the best part. The building's location is perfect, within walking distance to most attractions and amenities in Waikiki. The only downside we experienced was when we rented a car, to do some activities outside of Waikiki. The garage entrance is located in a very busy intersection, with oncoming traffic and lots of crossing pedestrians. Furthermore, the garage itself is very crowded and small. The parking spots are VERY narrow. We rented an 8-passenger Cadillac and parking it was stressful, what with two big minivans on either side and a car parallel-parked across. I would recommend Waikiki Shore and would stay there again myself.
"Waikiki Shores Apt #1302 (2br) - Stunning"
08/14/14 Chris S Melbourne, Australia
Stayed 9 nights in Waikiki Shores Apt #1302 booked through Captain Cook Travel. What can I say. The condo was amazing. Out of the 100,000 odd hotel rooms in Waikiki, this place would be in the top 50 for best panoramic views of beach and city combined. The condo was large and fully stocked with everything you require. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom were great with duel shower heads and basins in each bathroom. The only negative would be that if you have hired a car it can be difficult getting in and out of the hotel garage with it being located right on a busy intersection. Overall though, if you require 2 bedrooms, book this place, you will not be disappointed and its will only enhance your Hawaii experience!

A condo-right on Waikiki beach? Complete with kitchen and washer/dryer. Every room has a lani over looking the beautiful Waikiki beach and Fort Derussy's museum, lawn and palm trees. Even Trumps new hotel is behind this condo. Only 2 blocks off of best shopping in Waikiki and you couldn't get any closer to staying at the beach- we could hear the waves while in bed! Perfect
