"Art, wine and dine."
I have traveled a lot but never have I seen a place that is so pleasing to all of the senses. An art gallery, outdoor sculptures and perenial flowers and a wine tasting room that you can walk to from the lodging building make this a pleasant place to stay. Very interesting tour of the wine making facility too. Learned why it costs more to grow grapes […] in this region than other warmer parts of the world. Once the restaurant is open for dinner it will be even better. The region is beautiful and even though I grew up in Ontario I had no idea that this area had such beautiful beaches and vineyards. Who needs Napa and Somoma when you can experience the laid back old world style of Price Edward County. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable and quiet"
We stayed only 1 night, but took advantage of the outside private patio. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was the best we ever had at a hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed the stay at the Huff estates. It has an Australian feel with the style & structure of the hotel. It also has a nice outdoor patio for each room. The breakfast buffet was plentiful - just would recommend crisping the bacon and browning the sausages a bit more. The wine that we purchased from the winery was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Huge disappointment "

We were in a very nice clean room with private terrace. No problem with this aspect. Sadly there was a wedding party in every other room with 22 ill behaved children running up and down the corridor until 11pm Breakfast was a disaster. Badly prepared food in a crowded buffet , most almost gone, eaten in a small room with the same toxic kids running around the table. The wine tour was brief but interesting. The tasting was rather pointless with about 49 people crammed around the tasting bar and no opportunity to gain any knowledge of the wine... Certainly the most disappointing of all the vineyards visited. We bought a bottle and struggled to get the machine to bypass the tip % section much to the annoyance of the rather sulky young woman at the til Would I stay here again? No... For the price I expect my breakfast to be a pleasant start to the day, not the equivalent of a cheap motel, and this ultimately reflects on the management of the estate
"Mini-honeymoon @ the Huff"

We enjoyed staying for 3 nights at Huff Estates Inn. We got to enjoy a king-sized bed as well as use the outdoor patio for breakfast. The breakfast is alright (not amazing) but nice that it is included. It would be nice if there was a place open for dinner at the Inn, to enjoy the wine, room, etc. Schroeder's down the street is an excellent spot as well. Huff is close enough to Sandbanks beach, lake-on-the-mountain, other wineries, Slickers, etc. Overall, we loved our stay, had amazing weather, got a great midweek rate, and can't wait to return for our anniversary in the future.
"A nice place in PEC"

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of June 2014 with a voucher that included 2 breakfasts, 2 bottles of wine and 2 cheese plates (one for each night). Arrival was a quick check-in. The room was nice but lacked ventilation so we had to open up the doors upon arriving. It smelled like someone had spilled a bottle of wine in the room (not surprising for a winery). Besides that, it was a very nice room with all the necessities including a mini-fridge. Breakfast was good, but nothing extraordinary. It was buffet-style and you can expect scrambled eggs, meat, waffles, fruit and cereal, juice and tea/coffee. There were also mini breakfast burritos, but they contained meat (I'm a veggie, but I do eat eggs) - it would be nice to have a veg-friendly option in high-season (i.e. use mushrooms/veg/potatoes/sweet potatoes) as a filling. We had two different cheese plates in the evenings (delivered to our room), the first was just ok the second was much better (more garnish and variety). I would have appreciated some of the local cheeses... The staff was friendly and the grounds were lovely - nice walking paths in a garden with lots of art/sculptures. There is also an art gallery on-site, but anything I liked was out of my price range - I wasn't the mood to haggle. They had something to suit most tastes. Close to lots of wineries and not far from Picton and Sandbanks. I will definitely return if I can get the same "deal" next year.

Stayed here for an overnighter.. was nice as we could walk to their resturant and have wine with no worries about driving back to our lodging! Excellent B&B with a nice hot & cold buffet breakfast and fabulous dinner. Room was cozy with Fireplace (we stayed early March 2014) and lovely large bathroom! We didn't use the outdoor patio off our room but it looked great for a warmer weather stay! Rented movies for the evening... with a bottle of wine and popcorn... what could be better?!!
"If you think this will be a different experience - forget it"

Huff Estates was a huge disappointment in all ways except the front desk and the size of the rooms. It is expensive at $179.00 night but we wanted to stay somewhere different. The put us in a nice room with a small patio, but there was no privacy from people arriving and leaving at all hours, parking a few feet from our room and we wanted to sit on the patio and enjoy the air, but it proved to be impossible. Next morning we went for what we thought was a full served breakfast, only to find it was a self-serve. When we arrived, the pancake mix was all gone, so were the sausages and fruit and yogurt. The eggs were made from powder and were cold. When we mentioned this to the kitchen person, she just laughed and did not offer to help. I wrote to the manager when we returned in order to alert him to the lack of service, but, to this date he has not even had the courtesy to acknowledge my correspondence. I guess that proves the lack of customer service starts at the top and filters down to the staff. They obviously do not care about there visitors.

We go annually to stay at the Inn in the winter time (the off season rates are a plus!), Rooms are very nice, comfortable, and have fun but classy themes. Breakfast has always been hot and tasty, nothing special but better than nothing. Service has always been good. Wine is delish. Sculpture garden is a little bit of an acquired...

Our annual girls weekend was a great success thanks to Huff's Estates. The rooms and staff were wonderful. The Winemakers Suite as well as the Deluxe rooms we booked were all terrific. Plan on returning again next year as we all agreed could not do much better than this.
"Great rooms. Shame about the service."

The rooms in this hotel are really very nice and well appointed. We had both a double deluxe and a king suite and both were comfortable, very clean, and very nice. The service in this hotel is what lets it down. For a hotel in this price category, and in this region, which is known for its food and wine, you would expect the breakfast to be very well laid out and fresh, interesting ingredients. This was unfortunately not the case... a little more care over the quality of ingredients, fresh fruit, fresh breads (not sliced white in a bag), etc would go a long way to making this a great place to stay. In addition, despite requesting a room close to my very elderly mother, we were put at completely the opposite end of the hotel. The person taking our booking failed to point out to me that the King Suites were on a different wing of the inn, and took the booking assuring me that the rooms were close together. So all in all, this is not a hotel we will be returning to despite the quiet lovely location and good rooms. A bit more care on the service would improve this hotel to a 4 star.
"Excellent Quite Getaway!"

This is such a beautiful place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. We stayed in the upgraded suite with a king bed and double sided fireplace. The room is spectacular and the bathroom with the tub and separate shower is perfect! The patio is lovely for a morning mimosa or an afternoon glass of wine. The town of Picton is only a short drive away so you can find some places for lunch or dinner nearby. The resort provides a nice hot breakfast and you can buy lunch at the winery on site if you wish. There is a very interesting outdoor art gallery to wander through and you can buy some very nice wine on site. The other wineries in the area are small but you should check them out too. We had great dinners at the Pomodoro restaurant in Wellington and the Waring House in between Bloomfield and Picton. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet and luxurious getaway.
"Another visit to Huff Estates - Focus on Accessibility"
07/10/14 Mari-Lynn C Whitby, Canada
This was our second visit to Huff Estates, again staying for two nights using a WagJag voucher. It was a good value and we appreciated the little extras that were included - free bottle of wine, cheese and crackers with each night's stay. Again, the breakfast was satisfying and had something for everyone to enjoy. This visit we stayed in the Accessible room (due to the fact that I have a disability and require a scooter for mobility). I was glad that we were able to arrange to get this room since I was able to get out onto the private patio using my scooter. Last year I was unable to do this because we weren't in the accessible room. (Note: There is only one accessible room at Huff, so be sure to request it early if it is required.) The washroom was a good size and I appreciated the grab bars both by the toilet and in the shower, as well as the seat in the shower. I just wish that they would install more places to hang your wet bath towels and hand towels. This would be a very easy fix that would save the guests from needing to hang them on the grab bars! Again this year we noticed that there were issues with people parking (illegally) in the one accessible parking space. Even though we had the one accessible room (and I own a disabled parking permit), it was frequently unavailable. It was often occupied by someone without a permit. I was very upset to discover that on one occasion the spot was actually being occupied by the owner's vehicle!!! I think that they need to do a better job of ensuring that this parking spot is used for someone who actually has a disabled parking permit in their car! Very disappointing! As I mentioned in my review last year, Prince Edward County is a beautiful spot to visit, however many of the restaurants and shops in the area are not accessible. Although Huff has one accessible room to stay in, not all of the exits out of the building are accessible (some have a step down) and the main entrance does not have an automatic door to make it truly accessible for those with a disability. If you are coming to the area to do some sight-seeing, Huff is in a terrific location in order to do some great excursions. You might just have to do a bit more research for your own requirements if accessibility is a necessity for you.
