Stayed here for 3 nights on a holiday with my father. Room was dungeon, not a single ray of light reached our windows, close to reception area, extremely noisy and uncomfortable. Will not stay again.

We really liked the St. Olav hotel. The location is awesome, 2 minute walk to main square and close to all the sights within the city walls. hotel is next to many bars and strip club with lots of drunks hanging out in front of the hotel. Loud all night until 4am. Bath tub did not work properly, and the bathroom smelled. Never again.

Upon arrival, we got immediately the message that due to heavy rainfall, most of the rooms were not occupyable and they had booked us in another hotel, here's the map and they expect you... Extremely nice property, most courteous staff. Courtyard in back was a quiet cool respite to escape the heat. We were on the top floor therefore it was quite hot - however the hotel can hardly be faulted for the weather and why would they have a/c for the few days of summer heat? I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel with a friendly staff. Only problem was that we stayed on the fourth floor, and there was no elevator. Our room also got quite warm, as this was the top floor. Location in the Old Town of Tallinn is unbeatable though.

No lift in this hotel and the rooms are in a maze. The staff only WALKED me to the room in the maze, not even helping to carry my luggage up 4th floor narrow staircase. Never never want to recommend it to anyone with luggage. Also, i believe they assigned the worst hard to sell high-floor room to self-booking guest.

The staff on reception were abrupt and unhelpful, however staff in breakfast room were very polite. Our bedroom was located on the ground floor which was close to the hotel night club as a result the music kept us awake most of the night. We also had the aroma of drains in our bathroom. Wish we had stayed at another hotel.

Most dreadful experience with hotel in more than half century of travelling.We reached hotel Saturday afernoon, hotel was staffed by 1 receptionist and 1 porter,dirty reception was overfilled by large expedition of some sport fans in same type of sneakers producing appropriate aroma. Receptionist told us and to other people with prepaid accomodation […] that there is no room in the hotel and that she can arrange private accomodation in the city with shared bathrooms and that she will allow (!) us to come to hotel for breakfest in the morning and go to hotel room afernoon. I have never encountered hooliganism of such grossness in any hotel before. Porter then found for us a room of irregular shape approx 7x9 feet for first night and next day transfer to "normal" room. I do not know what happened with other people with reservations. Behavior of the receptionist reminded me manners soviet army sergeant from times long past. I find it extremely unacceptable that Expedia lends its name for promotion of businessess like St.Olav. Expedia should know who are her business partners and not to promote repugnant places like St.Olav. I cannot do anything about hooligans in Estonia but I think that Canadian consumer should be protected by strong government regulations enforcing responsibility of all companies selling goods or services in this country. Our hopes of a quiet room dissipated when we were given the room next to the front door of the hotel and diagonally opposite the reception desk.There was also a sitting area 2 steps away from the door to our room. We stayed 3 nights around midsummer; the hotel is right in the middle of old town, which makes it easier to explore the area. It was pretty safe location with major embassies in neighborhood. The room was relatively clean, quiet and comfortable. The only complaint is lack of smiles (or even hello-hi) from the hotel staff.

St Olav's is a warm friendly hotel and located near to the main square. Other reviews had found the hotel noisy but I only heard people on one or two occasions but it wasn't at all intrusive and the hotel looked quite full. I went in November and it was freezing outside but the hotel was warm and cosy and very good value for the price. The buffet breakfast is good with convenient times but don't get there too late or else the pastries disappear! A large selection of food all of it very tasty and a lovely big dining room. Overall a great hotel with lots of old fashioned character. Exposed beams, traditional decor, with a hint of grandior. Our room wasn't massive but very comfortable with a nice bathroom - no bath but a powerful hot shower. There was a minibar and a Fridge and a flatscreen TV. People with mobility problems should make sure they get a ground/first floor room though as we were on the third floor with quite steep stairs but it's an old building and it wasn't a problem for us. The location of the St Olav hotel in the center of the old city is amazing and you cannot beat where the hotel is located. The room location is another matter completely. DEMAND NOT TO BE IN ROOM 136 as you will NOT sleep a minute. It is beside the patio of a nearby bar and is SO loud that IO was willing to walk out and look for another hotel at 4 AM. […] We were staying there with our 4 year old daughter and that night was impossible to sleep for any of us. After much arguing they moved us to an interior courtyard room which was silent on the second night (THANK GOD) but was terribly loud and noisy the following night with Russian tourists swilling beer and singing. uckily that ended early enough and was quiet from 11 PM until 6 the next morning when they all reassembled to make plans for the day.
