Our room was well appointed and clean, but the much-needed air conditioner in our room was malfunctioning and had to be left off. We had a nice lap pool outside of our back terrace and there is a full-size pool near the large on-site restaurant. There is a new hotel wing being constructed, which has eliminated much-needed parking space and is causing some noise and inconvenience.

The staff were helpful, polite and professional, but the hotel suffers from poor maintenance. There is a new wing under construction.

We want to share how happy we have been for the two weeks we decided spend in the beautiful quiet town of Manuel Antonio at the Best Western Villas Lirio. The team at the hotel from every position are quite genuine with their kindness. They knew more English than we did Spanish and whether we need a light bulb changed or how to catch the bus back to San Jose, the staff here made sure we were always traveling with information and resolving and request we needed within minutes. We arrived here at 9 PM with little idea (other than online research and a call to the hotel) on what to expect the hotel to look like. After a 17 hour journey from Toronto (from locking our front back in Canada) were were thrilled at the beauty of the hotel. The room was to perfection. All the maple wood ceilings were polished regularly as well as the floors washed daily, the entire property always smelling fresh! A dream patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean as well as two swimming pools on the hotel property, and we got the package that included breakfast in the gorgeous restaurant that looked as though it was buried in its own private rainforest. We had dinner in the restaurant and perfection was the minimal standard in presentation, flavor, and service far better than anything I've had back home in Toronto! The bus stop (only 75 cents US a on average a ride per person to the beach or the city of Qurpos!) and two grocery stores just footstep

"Comfortable hotel, good location"

We stayed here for 1 day during our trip to Manuel Antonio in April 2015. We requested a room with 2 beds and management accommodated our request which doesn't always happen. The hotel has free parking which is limited and on extremely steep slope. Free internet and a complimentary breakfast is provided which is delicious. The swimming pool just outside the rooms was beautiful and a pleasant respite from the heat and humidity. The rooms itself were comfortable with TV, coffee maker, fridge and microwave The breakfast in the restaurant in the morning was nice (fresh fruit, eggs, rice and beans, fruit juices, coffee, baked goods, oatmeal etc). The restarant had nice views of the hotel and we enjoyed the ambience which almost felt like we were in a tree house!

"Nice hotel with amazing staff."

I stayed in this hotel for one night with some friends. The hotel is very nice, with a lot of paintings and sculptures in the rooms and hallways. The rooms were really comfortable, with a small fridge, A/C, TV, and safe box. There are two pools in the hotel and basically everything was nice enough. But what really impressed me was the staff, they were incredibly helpful and amicable. They did everything and beyond to answer our requests. Being that we are locals, staying only for one night, I found this level of attention extraordinary and admirable, and can't recommend enough this hotel.

"Nice place, well situated"

This is a nice hotel and very well situated for a visit of Manuael Antonio National Park or the shore of the Pacific Ocean and there is also a nice swimming pool available. Although not really modern, my room had a double bed (for one person) and did not lack any of the usual amenities, including flat screen TV, hair dryer, air conditioning, etc. Breakfast was good, but bread was scarce as in most hotels in Costa Rica. The staff was polite and helpful and the general athmosphere was friendly.

"Lovely hotel, huge beautiful rooms"
03/17/15 ArtistheP Amsterdam
At the beginning of the hotel and restaurant 'strip' in the village of Manuel Antonio, there's this lovely resort owned by Best Western. My room, next to the large 'downstairs' pool was huge, with a large flatscreen television, a kitchen (with only a coffeemaker and a tap), and a terrace at the back and the front. However, did not see the point of the backside terrace, no view and noise of aironditioning. Wifi didn't work very well all the time. Poolside is absolutely lovely, gardens are very well kept. Did not have any meal in the hotel (supermarket is close by, as are some nice restaurants and cafe's) but did have a nice cocktail at happy hour (had to get it in the bar upstairs, and found out that only a few different drinks were part of the happy hour deal). Wasn't bottered by the construction works.

"Clean, pretty hotel"
03/14/15 Adventuretraveler117 United States
My room was nice but it was a bit on the small side. It was very clean, however, and nicely decorated, and had A/C and a large ceiling fan. In addition, the swimming pool was right at the bottom of a winding staircase that led up to the door of my room. I found this to be pleasantly convenient, since the weather was warm here, so it was great to be able to walk out of my room down a flight of stairs and go swimming after the days activities. There were rooms on the first floor whose doors opened directly next to the pool. There was an additional outdoor pool on the premises as well. I have created a website about my trip to Costa Rica that has information about many attractions plus lots of pictures. If you are interested, you can find the site at: costaricatripoat.weebly.com

Great service, great location, we were expecting the worst price wise when we saw the best western sign but was one of the cheaper ones, fantastic pool, rooms are up to date and comfortable, service is fantastic, breakfast could be a bit better but the overall menu is delicious, highly recommended!!

"Peace of mind in the heart of Costa Rica!"

We are into the last few days of our Costa Rica vacation and wanted to share how happy we have been for the two weeks we decided spend in the beautiful quiet town of Manuel Antonio at the Best Western Villas Lirio. The team at the hotel from every position are quite genuine with their kindness. They knew more english than we did Spanish and whether we need a light bulb changed or how to catch the bus back to San Jose, the staff here made sure we were always travelling with information and resolving and request we needed within minutes. We had dinner in the restaurant and perfection was the minimal standard in presentation, flavour, and service far better than anything I've had back home in Toronto! The bus stop (only 75 cents US a on average a ride per person to the beach or the city of Qurpos!) and two grocery stores just footsteps away from the hotel. Outside of the hotel, all the local residents greet you with a smile and are more than happy to help with directions (some fellow tourists could follow that example)! Even if we tried planning this strategically you'd think we knew all this information ahead of time! The hotel is central for walking and for everything else you need by bus. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, it's here at the Best Western! If you're looking for a hustle and busy city with a late night life, Manuel Antonio is not the place for you. If it's peace and quiet along with serenity, then Manuel Antonio is the place for you! Just leave your pants at home, it's a hot place and you'll need to invest in a lot of dresses and/or shorts! 😀😀😀

"Great location and price. Clean and comfortable."
01/10/15 Loren A Los Angeles, California
Place is under construction, however we didn't hear any construction noise. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-air conditioned. The pool and restaurant are nice. Parking is a bit of an issue. Location is excellent, can easily walk to restaurants and shops. Breakfast is sufficient but not the best. Great happy hour specials!

I was in with my family just for a day, but In my opinion this is a nice place, with good rooms and a beautiful restaurant. Service and food was very good. I would right back soon, or at leas after the new building improvement. Parking was uncomfortable. Swimming pool is right. Cleaning place.
