This hotel has very nice remodeled rooms but there is still a lot of construction going on. There are two beautiful pools but the construction is right next to them which takes from the view. The rooms are so nice and comfortable but there is so much noise throughout the day that it isn't worth it. We booked the room for a week and left in two days. You will have to take a bus or taxi into town, the taxi will charge about $9 and the bus 75 cents. The bus and taxi stop is very close to the hotel. There is also a supermarket close by if you walk towards the left when leaving the hotel. The staff is nice and will help when booking any tours.

"My stay at Villas Lirio"
Had a ground floor room and the back opened onto a little courtyard with a georgous lap pool. Since I'm older and had a bit of trouble with the afternoon heat, I would retreat to the room, dip in the pool, drink icewater, and read in my own private lanai.

"Nice, but issues"
Our room was well appointed and clean, but the much-needed air conditioner in our room was malfunctioning and had to be left off. We had a nice lap pool outside of our back terrace and there is a full-size pool near the large on-site restaurant. There is a new hotel wing being constructed, which has eliminated much-needed parking space and is causing some noise and inconvenience.

"Disappointing hotel past it's prime"
The staff were helpful, polite and professional, but the hotel suffers from poor maintenance. There is a new wing under construction.

"Peace of mind in the heart of Costa Rica!"
We want to share how happy we have been for the two weeks we decided spend in the beautiful quiet town of Manuel Antonio at the Best Western Villas Lirio. The team at the hotel from every position are quite genuine with their kindness. They knew more English than we did Spanish and whether we need a light bulb changed or how to catch the bus back to San Jose, the staff here made sure we were always traveling with information and resolving and request we needed within minutes. We arrived here at 9 PM with little idea (other than online research and a call to the hotel) on what to expect the hotel to look like. After a 17 hour journey from Toronto (from locking our front back in Canada) were were thrilled at the beauty of the hotel. The room was to perfection. All the maple wood ceilings were polished regularly as well as the floors washed daily, the entire property always smelling fresh! A dream patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean as well as two swimming pools on the hotel property, and we got the package that included breakfast in the gorgeous restaurant that looked as though it was buried in its own private rainforest. We had dinner in the restaurant and perfection was the minimal standard in presentation, flavor, and service far better than anything I've had back home in Toronto! The bus stop (only 75 cents US a on average a ride per person to the beach or the city of Qurpos!) and two grocery stores just footstep

"Best western, sempre i meglio qualità/prezzo"

"So close to a five star."

Had a wonderful time here. Staff were friendly and helpful. View was awesome from our room. I loved the private patio and the almost private lane swimming pool. Nobody was using it the days we were there. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. Selection and variety is lacking.

"Horrible conditions - dreadful staff"
08/05/15 mjoy12 Ottawa, Canada
Showed up after a very long ride to find this place under construction. We were placed in the 300's block in dreadfully dark, tiny rooms. There were construction workers immediately outside my children's room using a tile saw (very loud) and the place was full of gas fumes. While I was getting us settled in, my husband watched as the workers cleaned their tools with turpentine and rinsed them in the pool my kids were supposed to swim in. The pool was marked off with a tarp at the end where a very dangerous drop existed due to the construction. This section of the hotel should never have been opened! Expressing our disappointment led to arguments with the hotel staff who yelled and belittled our group leader, and did very little to improve the situation. This place may be cheap...but that's all it is.

"Great for the Price in Manuel Antonio where nothing is cheap!!!"

Villas Lirio a nice hotel, very tropical landscaping, clean, honest we had put all our belongings in the safe and forgot to lock it and when we returned there where the maids inside and no problem.. The pool is OK when not full of guests. Restaurant is above average, local Tico cuisine. Lots of thinks to do at the activities desk, great white water rafting company, Amigos del Rio, tour up to Rio Savage. I would definitely return.

A friend and I booked this hotel because of the affordable price and were so happy with our experience. The room we stayed in was beautiful with a great view of the ocean. It had some great amenities and the customer service was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Manuel Antonio.

"Work in progress"

We just stayed at Villas Lirio in Manuel Antonio. The decor is a bit outdated. However, this hotel is in the process of being remodeled. Despite working in some of the areas, it was pretty quiet. The room was always clean. The breakfast has a limited menu: eggs, plantains, gallo pinto, fruit and cereal. They also had limited staff which is the reason it would take some time to bring more food during breakfast. This hotel is on the mountain which makes it difficult to park your car. It also has many stairs.

"Unusual hotel configuration"
06/29/15 TOM-LINDAS Danville, Illinois
The hotel was built on a slope with a lot of steps and plants once you entered the area. It was a beautiful setting with 2 nice pools. There was an odor problem when we were there due to some construction or maintenance. This was not noticeable in the rooms once the windows were closed and the air conditioning turned on. Wifi in our room was good. Our room was large with 2 beds but there was a table in the way by the door, making the bed on that side of the room difficult to negotiate. The bathroom was nice with 2 sinks and a nice shower. Breakfast was OK but the fruit was not as fresh as it had been at the previous hotels that we had stayed in Costa Rica. There is a market nearby but it wasn't easy to walk in the area outside the hotel due to the lack of sidewalks in some areas. It is very close to the Manuel Antonio National Park.

"The Staff made our stay extra pleasant"

We found the staff at Villa Lirio very accommodating and super friendly. Our reservation was for 2 day with 2 open days and we decided to spend the extra days there because of the location and really loved the hotel. Looking forward going back there soon.

"Hotel has an amazing design built on a hill and close to Manuel Antonio National Park"
06/20/15 Judi L Denver, Colorado
Great location and very close to the park. The hotel has a lot of winding steps, two pools. Food was excellent. Wi-Fi in the rooms, but we were up high and had to use the lobby or pool. In room safe. Food was excellent, the staff very nice, and there was a great happy hour in the bar. We were upgraded and our room was huge. Two sinks, a very large shower, and modern design. Rooms were extremely clean. The hotel provided free beach towels for the beach inside the national park. I thought this was a nice touch.

Good location near the park. Two pools. Hot tub, but it didn't have any water in it when I was there. Restaurant & bar area. Nice sized rooms. If you are there during the day, can be a little noisy as they are doing some maintenance in a couple areas. Staff were very pleasant. Happy hour deals in the bar.

"Amazing staff & great breakfast!"
05/27/15 Kaitlin M
We were greeted by Andre who was professional and amicable, very friendly guy who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The room itself was beautiful & clean. The breakfast that was included was wonderful, you had the option of the continental breakfast (toast w. jam, butter & fruits) or tico (rice with beans & plantain with eggs). Great way to start off your day, fresh good tasting food and wonderful waiter. Loved the hotel and it's staff. Wifi was a bit spotty in our room but nothing too serious. The location is also excellent!
