We stayed at the Palazzo Ravizza for two nights and were very happy with the hotel. The front desk was very helpful in recommending great local restaurants, booking tours of the area (highly recommend the san gimignano tour they had advertised), and sorting out the bus schedule to Rome. The views from their garden are incomparable. You can buy wine […] and small plates from the hotel, or do like we did and bring in your own bottle (and pay a small corkage fee), to enjoy in the garden and watch the sunset over Tuscany. All in all a good place to stay. One tip: take a taxi to/from the bus station to get here. Siena is too hilly to schlep your bags through. Read more

Nothing is far away from this hotel except the train station. Take a taxi if you come on the train so you do not have to climb the steep, long hill to arrive. When you get to this hotel.... We had a wonderful experience. The staff was welcoming and the room charming. We even had a great view over the garden of the countryside surrounding Siena. The location can't be beat. It's only a five-minute walk from the Siena cathedral and great trattorie.

The location was great once there. It is not convenient to the train or buses but is within easy access to the town center. The room was large by European standards, with high vaulted ceilings. This is a nice property in a good location. After spending three nights there, I definitely think your overall satisfaction with the hotel is determined by your room. While most everything else about the stay was good (beautiful garden, good breakfast, etc.), our room was not. For what we were paying, I had much higher expectations. And after seeing several other rooms and talking with other guests about their room, I believe we may have had one of the worst in the hotel. We stayed in room 4. The only room we saw with a balcony. The view is second to none. The Tuscany background was postcard like. The hotel is like being part of history. Since it was built in the 1700's it was style and craftmanship of a building you see on a historical tours in cities in the US. Sitting out in the garden adds to the experience. The places where I feel the hotel fell short was in cleanliness. The traffic areas were clean but there was quite a bit of dust under the furniture and cobwebs in some of the corners. The shower had some hair from previous guests in the drain strainer. These are obviously not huge issues and overall a great stay but we felt the hotel never went the extra mile to really make the stay top notch. This hotel is located inside the inner city. We took a loft room which required going up a flight of stairs. Room was small but was clean and had a good view. Hotel staff was helpful. My husband and I spent two nights this past week at Pensione Pallazzo Ravizza. The location is on a quiet street, but just a short walk to the shops and Campo. It is an elegant hotel with a beautifully maintained courtyard in back overlooking the Tuscan countryside. The breakfast, which was included, was quite a generous buffet. Various cereals and museli, yogurt, homemade breads, cheese, pastrami, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. Also several juice choices, and a great coffee machine that produced a cup of coffee, latte, or cappuccino in seconds! The Palazzo Rivizza in Sienna was lovely to stay at during our recent trip to Italy. Out of the three hotels I visited while traveling around Tuscany this was the best! The garden view rooms have an amazing view of the whole valley area. The breakfast was a nice bonus. There are pastries available, coffee, tea, and some fine Tuscan breads, cheese and […] salami, as well as standards such as yogurt and cereals. Finding the hotel was relatively easy if you have a GPS unit. There are many signs leading up to the hotel too, but I think having it mapped out would help. Only saving grace was the breakfast and the veiw from the back of the hotel. Service at the front desk was inconsistent from indifference to truly helpful and concerned later when we had an emergency. The room was clean but poorly maintained and needed renovation. We were so impressed with the staff and location of the hotel Pensione Palazzo Rivizza. They were so helpful and warm. Our room was magnificent and if your able to book the Jr suite you will not be disappointed. The one we were in was on the first floor and had a view to die for. We didn't book a rental car in advance and they helped us get that handled […] at the front desk. They really bent over backwards for us and made our stay incredible.
