The people at the front desk were fantastic! The rooms were nice - nothing fancy, but certainly adequate. The walk to/from the train station was not bad, but would be a bit difficult with rolling luggage. Breakfast was okay, but somewhat pricey (but then, everything in the London area was expensive!).

The hotel is just OK. Elevator takes forever and more. Bathroom probably for a 2 stars hotel. Not much going on near to the hotel. Rooms are Ok. Didn't try the breakfast. I would suggest this hotel only in case of business nights in case your business is very near to this place.

The toilet was broken, they offered to change rooms but we would have to change again the next day. We were given a key to another room to use the toilet until ours was fixed. At 8 am the next morning while we were still in bed, the staff let themselves into the room and never apologized. We read hundreds of reviews when choosing our hotel. My husband and I wanted something that had free parking, was very clean, a bit outside of the city (didn't want to drive in downtown London). We live in Washington state, and it was our first time to the UK-- the Antoinette turned out to be perfect for us. The hotel room was small but extremely clean-- […] and the staff was incredibly helpful. It's about a 30 minute bus ride from Heathrow airport (the only way to get to the hotel, take the X26 bus). It's a 10 minute walk to the train station which gets you to downtown London (about a 15 minute ride on the fast train). Hampton court is also a train stop away, which was a nice surprise! Turned out to be just what we were looking for-- we didn't want to stay in a hostel (wanted our own bathroom) and were looking for something budget friendly. This hotel was exactly what we wished for. Overall, the rooms are pretty tiny (we stayed in a standard double) but it had a nice little flat screen tv, and a very clean little bathroom. Perfect! The only downside was that the mattresses were extremely hard and uncomfortable. However we were so worn out from exploring all day that it hardly mattered! The free internet was a nice plus as well. Located in a semi-residential area of Surbiton, just a 15 minute walk to the quaint business district, the Antoinette Hotel offers first rate service and accommodations. Our room was spotlessly clean throughout our 5-day stay. The hotel breakfasts were tasty and the bar open late enough at night to round off a long day with a nightcap. The lack of A/C didn't matter as the nighttime temps of England in mid-June were in the 50's or 60's. We just opened the window for fresh air. Very nice hotel, but very far & very expensive to get to/from London town. The nearest railway station to get into London town is about 15 minutes away, but on good roads/on good pavements/with good street lights. The neighbourhood is quite safe, but with no shops/restaurants nearby. But the hotel has its own restaurant and also food service at night. […] The nearest convenience shop is about 7 minutes away. After watching the fireworks of New Year's Eve 2010, I returned to the hotel room at around 1:30am. Ran the water to take a shower, but there was no hot water. Tried for about 5 minutes, still no hot water. Informed front desk, someone came up and did the same thing, still no hot water. Offered to let me shower in another room, went down to check on […] it, then returned and said I could actually stay in another room for the night, until they squared away the problem. He said he personally checked the hot water, and it was fine. Packed up all my things, moved to the new room, and unpacked. It was noticeably smaller, TV, fixtures, etc. older than my original room. I went to run a shower, and guess what? No hot water. Called front desk again, he came up, tried it out, said he checked and it was working fine earlier. He left and came back with another solution: take me to their sister hotel in Wimbledon to stay for the night. I said I'd rather just go back to my original room - bigger, more comfortable, less hassle than being transported to another hotel. Went back to my original room, feeling frustrated, tired, and unclean. Checked the hot water, for fun, for spite, for whatever reason, and it was working. So, 3 hours later, I took finally took a hot shower. Some amenities weren't available: the hotel bar was closed the whole time, and the restaurant only served breakfast, no dinner service. This is a nice if slightly overpriced hotel in need of some renovation. Their only serious downfall is a next to useless wi-fi service, but the friendly reception staff make up for much of the hotel's bad points.

I found the hotel to be well used both by guests and functions. This is both good and not so good. Other guests are pretty much as in any medium sized hotel. Functions mean that there is often noise from discos or those who get louder as the evening progresses. My room was functional with all of the usual features, small shower, small TV and single […] bed. The outstanding feature of my stay was the waitress in the restaurant. She was pleasant and helpful. Attentive without being overbearing. The food was good and the chef cooked my steak almost as I would have done. Hotel in great location, only a small walk into surbiton. Ideal for what we wanted. Room was in the garden block. Everything was fine but very noisy all night. Had a delux double which had an extra bed in a side room. All in all would use again for an overnight stay but no longer.

What has happened to this hotel? We have stayed previously and were impressed by the quality. However on this visit we were less impressed. The TV had a line down the middle of the screen, although I didn't stay there just to watch it- you expect the faciclities provided to work. Secondly the towels were like cardboard. When we arrived for breakfast […] the following morning @ 09:00, we had to wait for 5 mins for someone come to us, we then couldn't find a clear table, we asked someone to clear one but they were 'a bit busy and would do it in a min'. I ended up clearing the plates etc to one side myself. There was little selection, most things had run out and the staff didn't seem rushed to replace and refill. My wife poured a coffee only realise it was cold and the hot water urn for tea had ran out. Eventually my wife (who is pregnant) was so angry she took our 3 year old daughter and walked out, unfortunately in the toilet on the way to our room and saw member of staff flush the toilet and walk out not washing her hands- "mummy why does that lady not have to wash her hands but I do?". The following morning we went to breakfast earlier at 08:30 and it was alot better for us, however as time went on we watched people arrive and experience all of our issues from the previous day! When I challenged the duty manager about the issues she appologised and removed the charge of breakfast for day one (she saw the shambles herself when eating her breakfast watching the wheels fall off). Most rooms are in separate buildings with a bit of a hike (200m) into the main building for dining/reception etc. Pleasant gardens to walk through but would be an irritation if wet and cold. first the plus side: food in the restaurant and bar was very good, staff generally helpful but i wouldnt say the happiest i have ever seen, bit of a "fawlty towers" air about it. this is the thrid time i have stayed here, the first time i thoight i was just unlucky with the room, the second time was just as bad but i thought i would give it one last […] chance (due to the lack of hotels in the area) but no more, three strikes and out i'm affraid. The Hotel has two blocks; in the main block the corridor is so narrow you can't walk down it with a suitcase by your side. The rooms are so close together and small that you can hear every noise from ajoining rooms or from the corridor, and i mean EVERY noise. The beds are terrible, pillow and sheets cheap and worn out and the towels, well lets just say "transparent" best describes them. If you stay in the outside block, the rooms are the same but a lot colder. Oh, one last thing, the TV is so small and the internet access so bad the less time you spend in your room the better!
