"Excellent 1 week holiday"
We went for the All Inclusive room rate and was not disappointed. Food was varied, vegetarian friendly and generally very good. Facilities for children were also very good. The Kids' Club was very well organised, friendly and welcoming; we were never stuck for something to entertain our child. The evening entertainment was also very family-orientated […] and the children's mini disco every night was a constant hit with our 6 year-old. The private beach/lounge area for hotel guests was well situated and offered great views and privacy. The perfect spot to read your book and enjoy a drink (or two!) from the nearby bar. "Smelly and Uncomfortable"
The hotel throughout is very dirty. You do not feel like sitting down or touching anything without wiping it down first. Our bedroom had a dusty smell until the cleaner cleaned it - this should have been done before we arrived. The bedroom was not heated and we had to sleep in around 15c temperatures which was very cold. We think it was warmer outdoors […] so the ventilation system must have been on - we could not switch this off. The bed was very uncomfortable and you can feel the springs pressing against you. You could also hear them moving out of place. Duvets were not supplied but sheets with some blankets, blankets which were very unsightly and because there was a dusty smell in the room we did not feel like using them. We paid a very high price per night which was not acceptable for this level of comfort. Everything else was good but it was let down by the above. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sehr schönes Hotel in Strandnähe"

"Improvement still needed"
01/17/15 John Michael J Gloucestershire, United Kingdom
We have been going to this hotel for the 12 years Many aspects have improved but the Entertainment for Adults is almost non-existant. If you want to be 5 Star then this MUST include a big improvement to this side of things. Accomodation is being up-dated and there also needs to be far more selection with the food. The menu has hardly changed over the last 10 years. We have told 3 Directors - no change so far !!!!!
"Still need to work to 5 star."
01/12/15 LokiA The Hague, The Netherlands
The hotel itself was transformed from a 4 star to 5 star venue recently. So still lots of things require minor improvements. Location: straight on the beach - Playa de Muro, with direct access to water attractions. But, if you live in the main building - be aware it faces the road, that could be busy and noisy. Also there were a restaurant and a kitchen just beneath our room - we asked to change it and were offered rooms that are more distant from the reception, beach and pool area, so decided to stay. Tip: there are no elevators in the building, so everybody walks up and down. Also they put an aromatic scent to main ventilation system - and it could be really annoying. Food: thats where they deserve a positive review - good quality, perfect selection and fast waiting. Swimming pools: might be too crowded with kids, a bit more chlorine than usual, rather noisy and just in front of all restaurants. Sea: is really perfect for kids and those who love water sports - transparent, clear, shallow - around 100 meters ashore, although the beach is narrow, and you have to pay xtra for the bed.
"We had a very nice stay"
10/20/14 sigi19692014 Zug, Switzerland
We stayed in the Iberostar Playa de Muro Village at the end of season 2014 (October). We - me and my son - had an excellent stay. We wanted to enjoy nice beach vacation, which we did. Very nice family room, friendly people, very good service. All we wanted we got. I recommend this hotel to friends.

This isn't a luxury hotel unless you have spent the last ten years going to Pontins! We paid £6000 for 7 days through Sovereign 'luxury' holidays. They advertise this as 5 star but its actually 4 star plus however within Sovereigns t&c's,it says they self certify the star rating! So somehow they get around mis-selling by doing this.We will be sued regardless whatever the cost or outcome. The hotel; A few fancy panels of glass and that's it.Our room was awful, with orange walls and a rock hard sofa.Flowers in reception were dead and hanging out when we arrived.......and we're still there when we left.Service was terrible, beds only changed every other day.You couldn't have drinks or food by the pool.you had to go upto the bar and sit there on your own, have your drink and then rejoin your family by the pool. They didn't even have ice cream for the kids....but we were told their partner hotel 200 yards away sold it,pathetic.Food was poor in the restaurants too. If you can get a cheap deal then go for it but this is a 4 Star resort so make sure you pay 4 star prices.
"A good hotel if you must lose your iPhone!"
08/25/14 John P Northumberland, U.K.
We took our 3 year old granddaughter to the Playa de Muro Village so that her parents could enjoy a honeymoon. The hotel proved to be perfect for families with young children with a wide range of facilities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. A choice of pools and access to the facilities of the Playa de Muro sister hotel kept our granddaughter happy and content throughout the stay. The beach is immediately adjacent to the hotel but it is privately owned and the sun beds etc. cost 10 euros a day. No disco/night club meant that most people were in bed by 11 and consequently the site was quiet and settled when other hotels would be bouncing with music etc. It certainly suited us. The food was very good - all buffets - with a choice between open-air dining next to the beach or a large restaurant inside. The food was very good with wide choice and good ingredients. I probably put on 7lbs through sheer greed but the range of salads etc. meant that I really did have a choice. The staff were universally helpful and attentive. Full of smiles and eager to be of assistance, we felt looked after and cared for wherever we were in the hotel. And this leads me onto the reception and management staff. On the last day of our stay our granddaughter thought it would be a good idea to hide my phone in the microwave in our room! I did not discover my loss until were at the airport and after a frantic phone call to the hotel it was found. The staff then went out of their way to keep me informed by email as to the progress of the arrangements with a courier and I was quickly reunited with the phone. The trouble taken in packaging the handset was remarkable. If you have young children - not teenagers - enjoy your food and early nights then the Playa de Muro Village is for you. We would happily return.

We stayed here for a week in August. Firstly, this is definitely a family hotel; there were lots of children when we were there. The pool was pretty busy and there weren't enough sun loungers and the ones there were, were too close. Direct access to the beach is nice but the beach was rammed. Twice I couldn't get a lounger so I gave up. Staff are polite and pretty attentive. We would have expected at a 5-star hotel to have our drinks served to us around the pool. They don't do this. The one towel per person is strange for a 5 star establishment. Room was okay. Except mine (6301) was next to some sort of janitorial cupboard, that the staff member constantly opened and slammed. Bloody noisy and particularly annoying when I was ill one day and just wanted to rest quietly in bed. BANG! Food was fine. Buffet is the order of the day. Not gourmet but something for everyone.
"Great for families with small children but not for us"
08/13/14 HDiam2014 Bath
This hotel is ideally organised for families with small children - shallow paddling areas and swimming pools designed for play (not serious swimming), lots of shade and poolside loungers, various activities with little ones in mind including the evening entertainment. The staff eternally patient and the sea's gentle sloping beach and shallow waters are also ideal for youngsters. However, it's not easy to escape the cacophony of family life if you are seeking a different type of holiday to recharge the batteries so probably best to steer clear if your children are mid teens onwards - there's really not much on offer here for them except the teen club run from the partner hotel next door (which is so garishly presented and very over-crowded in August that we found it very off-putting). That said, the staff are very professional indeed and extremely solicitous; this is the strongest aspect of the hotel which in other ways as other commentators have suggested needs a major refit and overhaul throughout (the hotel lobby is really awful for example). So much more could be made of this hotel's remarkable position on the beach - and the creation of quiet seating areas in the shaded trees would be very welcome. The sea swimming is truly wonderful and the beach very impressive. The reception staff kindly allocated us a room away from the road and the main hub of the hotel from whence we could just see some of the sea. It was mercifully calm and perfectly adequate (though by no means of 4* quality as the hotel claims). The evening dining area was so noisy and unpleasant that as we were half board we swopped to lunches which could be taken at the beach bar and ate out evenings instead in the pleasant resort town of Port de Alcudia or charming Alcudia old town. Both these places a short taxi or bus ride away are much more pleasant than the tourist shops and bars which run the full 15 km length of this remarkable beach. While the in-house hotel food was adequate - with freshly cooked options always on offer along with fresh salad and fruit, some of the pre-prepared food was of poor quality. We were misinformed about the nature of this hotel so it was a disappointment for us, but if you have young children and are looking for a beach-side family holiday, this is for you!
"Special celebration break"
08/05/14 William T Glasgow, United Kingdom
I took my wife here to celebrate her birthday and pending retirement. Initially given a room which did not meet our expectations but after a couple of attempts the young duty manager found us a perfect one. The service throughout the break was very good. the quality and variety of food and entertainment were also of a very good standard. The beach was close at hand and was clean and very safe for all ages. Plenty of shops and restaurants close at hand. All in all a very good place to be on holidayf
"Great family hotel"
08/03/14 oliver w Manchester, United Kingdom
The hotel was really nice and a perfect location for our family holiday. The beach is beautiful and it sits right outside the hotel with no roads to cross! The food was great and the all inclusive booze was top notch. The only minor down side was our shower didn't really work but besides that we'd definitely go again and are already considering our visit next summer.
"Excellent hotel for family vacations"
08/01/14 David C Geneva, Switzerland
This is an excellent hotel for family vacations (two kids, 4 and 6 years old). Room is very good and clean). Food is good however after a week can be a bit boring. Animations are not too loud! Pool is well maintained. Beach is 5m from the hotel.
