Thumbs up for this hotel, which was within walking distance of some major stops (London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, etc...). The interior and the room were very clean, and the shower was quite sizeable - an American luxury that can be hard to come by on the other side of the pond. Catered room service was AMAZING, and available 24 hours a day, […] which was great news for a weary traveler like me who fell asleep before getting dinner and awoke at 3am absolutely starving. One thing to make sure you ask for, though, is a room with an outside view. My room had an interior view, which was lit by the skylight and overlooked the 2nd floor restaurant. It felt like living in a fish bowl, though, since everyone on the elevators or coming down the adjacent hall could see clearly into the room unless the shades were drawn. Then when I drew the shades, it felt like I was trapped in a windowless cage. It also made it difficult to tell what the weather was like prior to departing for the day. Overall fine. Breakfast food in downstairs bar was not nearly hot enough (don't know if the Sternos were not lit or what). Each evening we came back to the bar for drinks and Aivars, our waiter, was always so helpful and nice to speak with.

We stayed here for 5 nights on a trip to London. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean; there was coffee, tea, a sink, a microwave and a baby cot in the room for us. It is centrally located; up the street from the Eye of London and not far from the big touristy spots we wanted to see. There was a little 24 hr shop up the street for anything […] we needed last minute, but just about everything we needed was there at the hotel- gym, spa, restaurants, bar, tour booking, plug in adaptors, etc. the Waterloo Underground station was just a 5 minute walk, which made getting around extremely easy. We booked a Stone henge tour and a Jack the Ripper Night Tour through the concierge. We ate the breakfast buffet they offer each morning and loved it. There was a good variety of food and the staff were excellent and friendly. They always made sure to stop and say hi to our daughter (15 months at the time) and gave us high chairs, straws, juice boxes or anything else we needed for her. Upon check out we had some time between our flight and check out time, so they put our bags away for us until we were ready to come pick them up. My husand and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in mid-November. Our room had a view of the Big Ben and the London Eye (but with a construction site in front of us too!). I am rating the condition of this hotel as dreadful for one reason only, the elevators. They had 3 elevators working and one under repair during our visit. Somehow the call buttons were not working correctly and this caused huge problems. We would literally wait 10 minutes for an elevator every morning. Really, 10 minutes at least, we started timing […] it after the first day. It became easier and faster to walk down 12 flights of stairs in the morning. Returning to the room in the afternoon or evening was no better, just harder to walk up 12 flights. From what we gathered from other guests, ones that seem to stay there on a regular basis, this is an ongoing problem, not just isolated to our one visit. Otherwise, it is in a good location, close to attractions and various tube stations. The rooms are good, nice to have a separate living and sleeping area. The nespresso coffee machine is a nice addition. I would seriously consider checking to make sure the elevators are working for my next visit or make sure that I have a room on a lower floor. That is how bad and beyond annoying the elevator problem is. Read more

Super snazzy hotel just a short walk from the Westminster bridge, Big Ben, House of Parliment, The London Eye and both the Waterloo and Westminster tube stations. The room and hotel were all around very modern. Loved staying here!

The Park Plaza County Hall is a great hotel while staying in London. It's close to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Paliament, The London Eye, Tate Modern, etc. Anything in the South Bank area of London is within walking distance. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful to all the guests. The room itself was pleasant, modern amenities (A/C, […] fridge, espresso maker, etc) and our room had a view of Waterloo station looking east. Overall, the best hotel I've stayed while in London. Now the downsides: one of the hotel's elevators was under repair which made long waits to go up or down to the lobby. When you did get an elevator it seemed to stop at every floor wgich made it difficult to get anywhere quickly. They did give a food voucher for the inconvenience, but it was only good for the restaurant but you couldn't use it for breakfast or toward the bar menu. Another downside is the South Bank area itself. Waterloo Underground station is closed on Sundays and many of the Tube lines are shut down on weekends for maintenance. However, being in South Bank, you have to walk across the Thames to get to the next Tube station (in our case the line we needed was closed after our 20 min. trek) or try to figure out the bus routes (at first very confusing, but after a few whirls it gets easier). Overall, a good experience but if you want to get to North London or near Kensington we recommend staying near those areas. Read more

Although, I found the room a little small for 3 adults in 1 child, I'd say that they did great in maximizing the space of the room. The location of the hotel is 2 to 3 minutes from the London eye, 5 to 7 minutes to Big Ben and probably 10 minutes to Westminster Abbey. They allowed us to check in early -- we arrived 9AM -- and I believe their check in time is 12 or 1PM. We really appreciated that since we were so tired and jetlag and needed to hit the bed badly. The hotel personnel were also great in giving us directions, assisting us with our luggages, getting a cab etc. Another plus for this hotel are the free wi-fi and access to self-service laundry room.
