Room was large and clean but obviously stripped of former furniture. A coffee table sat against one wall, a desk with a lamp and a chair too low in size so reading was uncomfortable. We requested a second chair and were brought a chair from a dining area. The TV did not have a full picture but by setting the two chairs closer to the TV we were okay. Hampton Inns have always been our choice of Inns while traveling, but being an older couple and having had a long day of traveling this Inn was not suitable for us.

The room was attractively furnished and comfortable. Much of the bathroom was covered in plaster dust. We were disappointed that the pool closes at 5PM on Saturday.

Was looking for anywhere to stay. Just randomly booked this place, because Hampton Inns are usually clean. Well I was completely shocked when I got into the room, because it was HUGE. Way more than what I needed! The bathroom was bigger than some ENTIRE hotel rooms I have stayed at. Very impressed.

Our group of 25 stayed at the hotel for 8 nights. We traveled into NYC for three days and then to Brighton Beach for 4 days to work with a local church. First of all, the rooms far exceeded our expectations. Not only were they very clean (on a daily basis), but they were spacious. We did not have any problems while at the hotel, but we did need quite a bit of direction in finding areas around the city. The staff was incredibly helpful in this area. They made great suggestions concering restaurants for our group, and they provided directions to the ferry (which we enjoyed several days). I cannot express enough thanks to the staff as they helped make our group's trip a wonderful experience. This not only includes the front desk, but it also includes the great breakfast we enjoyed and the maid service at the hotel. Needless to say, we would love to head back to NYC and repeat this stay on Staten Island.

We had a very nice if short stay. The bed was one of the most comfortable I ever slept in (but maybe that was because we were very very very tired). Overall, very nice, I would go there again. The only downside: it's a little on the expensive side!!

Good breakfast choices. Just wish the pool was open all day. I think the hotel needs a sauna or hot tub for sore tourist legs after site seeing all around NY. There was a large group of kids that were very noisy most of the nights I was there! Then at 4am a Mother daughter were arguing next to my room.... You might think to put young teens on a different floor than adults who are just trying to get a good nights sleep..

My room faced a very busy highway 100 foot away from the hotel. Sleep was almost impossible. I cannot recommend anyone stay in that hotel, EVER. I have stayed in your hotels coast to coast, if fact, we looked for your hotel but not in this location, that's for sure.

We planned a family vacation to NYC and looked at rates in Manhattan, then decided to look outside. The rates at this hotel were very favorable in comparison to the Manhattan rates. I called the hotel before our arrival to confirm that there was a bus route to the Staten Island ferry and was informed there was a free shuttle service that could be scheduled the day before to take us to the ferry. The trip to the ferry generally ran between 20 and 40 minutes, but we didn't mind as the parking at the hotel was free. The shuttle stops running at 10:30 pm, so we did have to take the bus a couple of times. When we arrived at the hotel, we found the staff to be extremely friendly and our rooms to be very clean, with small refrigerators, which we put to good use. The pool hours are limited, but there is a lifeguard on duty when the pool is open, good for the kids after a day in the city. Breakfast was more than we expected, with make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, bagels and sweets available. Most important, the coffee was really good. When we asked for a local pizza place, we were recommended to a local restaurant that served what we felt was the best pizza we've ever had. It was so good that we went back. We had such a good time and had such good service that when we go back to NYC, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

NYC hotels were very expensive($300+) during graduation week in May so we decided to stay on Staten Island. It is vital to make early reservations with the hotel shuttle. Once, the driver never got the message about the pick-up from the ferry so we waited 1 1/2 hrs! Otherwise, the shuttle service worked well. We enjoyed our stay here and found the Staten Island ferry ride 2X/day relaxing and enjoyable.

You know, the hotel was fine. The service was fine. The breakfast was awesome, but honestly, that was the only thing to justify the $220/night cost of the room. I think the 14.2% city tax is what makes the cost outrageous. Which is too bad. The taxes on Staten Island are giving this fine hotel a bad name.

I was disappointed in the rooms cleanliness. Bathroom floor dirty and lots of dust on furniture like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Carpet seemed dirty also. Usually very pleased with the Hampton Inn. Also we were in room facing highway.. Can hear a lot of noise from traffic all night! Breakfast and staff was awesome!!

We booked this hotel on short notice, family funeral. We've had wonderful experiences at other Hampton Inn's and thought this would be the same. From the warm greeting we received upon entering until the good-bye we received at our exit, again, it was a wonderful Hampton experience. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was sensitive to our need for privacy the day after we buried my husbands mother. The hotel has everything one could need for any length stay. When we stayed in they provided delivery menu's for a wide variety of restaurants in the area. The breakfast provided was varied and plentiful. The gentleman in charge of the breakfast area was friendly and helpful. The front desk personnel were also exceptionally helpful and friendly. When in Staten Island, we will be staying here again,

30 families displaced by Hurricane Sandy are staying at this hotel. The staff are definitely sympathetic to their situation. I overheard one staff member, at the breakfast bar, ask a little girl about her brother, like a neighbor or relative would. The Hampton Inn is not home for these 30 families, but I believe the staff are trying to make them feel at home. I gave the comfort of the room a 4 instead of a 5 because the TV was small for the viewing distance. Definitely would not stop me from coming back next year.

Hotel is excellent! I grew up in the area and was visiting family, the accommodations and value were great. Only very minor point is that the pool by law must have an on-duty life guard so it was only open from 5 PM to 10 PM but still not a big deal really...

Stayed here for 3 nights to explore NYC over New Year period. Straightforward 20 minute drive to car park for Staten Island Ferry (which was free!). Plenty of parking at Ferry Terminal - $8 for 18 hour period. Ferry's very regular - timetable available from reception - brings you directly to tubes to get to wherever you need to go in Manhattan. Various shops/takeaways short drive away from hotel. Room really good size, huge bed, large bathroom - clean and modern. Good breakfast buffet included in price or takeout breakfast bags available if leaving early. Free coffee available 24/7 in lounge area. Would stay here again if visiting NYC again.

Hotel rooms and facilities were excellent. Very clean. Main issue was noise of the traffic from the freeway, which is loud if you are on that side and may well disturb your sleep so be warned. Also the breakfast was a little underwhelming.

"Nice hotel but not so easy to get to Manhattan"

Hotel is well maintained and the staff was very nice and helpful. However, the "shuttle to the ferry" service is not really convenient/flexible to use. Also, the hotel charged us for the room on the credit card even though it was pre-paid via expedia (they did correct the error but still...)

The hotel has no fancy frills, but has all you need, all the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast system is very good,the room has a super large bed.All areas very clean.The jogging/ exercise circuit outside was excellent. A larger green space outside would have been nice and use of the pool in the morning as well as the evening maybe?

Das Hotel ist sehr gut, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind etwas weiter weg, aber sehr gut. Als Familie wollten wir nicht direkt in NY wohnen und mit dem Wagen und der kostenlosen Staten Island Fähre sind wir relativ schnell und kostengünstig nach NYC gekommen. Ein Parkplatz am Fähranleger kostet den ganzen Tag z.ZT. 7USD. Trotz der Nähe zum Flughafen und der Einflugschneise haben wir vom Lärm nichts mitbekommen. Der Kaffee ist hervorragend und beim Frühstück wird immer wieder nachgelegt. Allerdings waren die Omletts wohl nicht so gefragt und entsprechend ein wenig trocken, aber lecker. Unsere Kinder haben sich über heiße Schokolade und Waffeln gefreut.
