"Stinky room, hotel 1 block from projects."
When we arrived in our room, it had not been properly cleaned. There were still wet washcloths in the shower from the last guest. There was hair in the drain. The toilet had not been cleaned. There were no garbage bags in the garbage cans. It looked as if our bedsheets had not been washed. The room had an overall general funk to it. I called down to […] the front desk immediately and they sent someone up. She tried to tell me everything was clean but I sweettalked her into cleaning since we had a baby with us we had to bathe in the bathtub. She wiped down the bathroom, but insisted the bedsheets had been washed. She then handed me some garbage bags and told me to put them in the closet. She also must've noticed the funk in our room because she sprayed it with room spray. For the rest of our stay we had to change our own garbage and some days we got coffee, some days we didn't. Also the crib provided for our baby was small and metal and they gave it to us folded up with the sheet already on it. I am glad I brought my own sheet from home. I will say the front desk staff and the restaurant staff were very friendly and professional. "Romantic Weekend in Savannah"
The hotel staff was out of this world! Super sweet. We arrived early (earlier like 9 am) Our room obviously wasn't ready since check out is at 12 and check in is 3 pm. We thought we would try to see if anything was available there wasn't but staff offered to hold our bags and call us as soon as our room was cleaned and available. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful throughout our stay. We had some maintenance/cleanliness issues with our room when we arrived, namely the toilet wouldn't stop running and appeared to be dirty. Also, our beds were made without flat sheets. During an "Epic and catastrophic ice storm" that crippled the South resulting in 5,000 flights getting cancelled, this hotel's management saw it fit not to follow the lead of Delta Airlines and Hertz Car Rental and make an exception to this aweful weather event. "Not as high end as they used to be."
I and many other guests were absolutely incensed that they charge you a $18 per day valet charge for your car. What's even more embarrassing for a once high end chain is they rely on the "gotcha charge." They don't tell you about the valet charge until you check out. Very shady practice.
