North Block Hotel - Yountville

Hotel was very clean with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The location was great as it is in Yountville. We were able to walk to dinner, breakfast, and the grocery store. It was conveniently located to make of the winery's we had tours/tastings booked. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here with a good friend on a wine tasting week in Napa. It is probably geared more toward couples, but we didn't care. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom in our room was huge, with a big soaker tub and separate shower. Total relaxation.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our anniversary weekend! It's not laid out in a standard "hotel" style with long hallways of rooms. Rather, all the rooms feature a window and patio looking out onto a main courtyard. The queen-sized room was larger than I expected, and had a full dresser, walk-in closet, and huge bathroom with soaking tub, separate […] shower, and his-and-hers sinks. The hotel has a small gym downstairs, with two treadmills, a stationary bike, an elliptical and a few free weights. Water and a small nespresso machine were provided. The only downside is that Redd Wood, the hotel's partner restaurant, is built into the hotel and you have to walk by all the patrons sitting out on the "patio" eating to get to your room. If you prefer to be in the room at night (we were out at dinner) while the restaurant is still open, you may want to spend extra to get a room upstairs and a little further away from the noise. This hotel was absolutely excellent from it's location in picturesque Yountville to the small detail of leaving make up removers in the bathroom. Hotel feels like you are home as you do not have to enter through a lobby or elevator, you open your door and you're outside in a beautiful courtyard. From the very beginning the staff as welcoming, friendly and accommodating. For the next 4 days it was the same, excellent service, friendly staff. Everybody from management, the front desk staff and housekeeping very great. The rooms are very nice with nice touches, like heated bathroom floors and oversized tubs. We couldn't have been happier.

Traveling from New Jersey to Napa, we stayed at the North Block for 2 nights a few days before Labor Day weekend. Having never stayed in Yountville, we were flying blind. This boutique hotel was everything we had hoped for and more. The rooms and common areas were very recently refurbished. Bathroom was well appointed and very clean. Rainfall showerhead […] was great. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. A large spacious closet. Veronica, the concierge, was incredibly helpful, getting us set up with a driver and reservations at several "appointment only" wineries in 45 minutes -- and she declined a tip, noting that service fees were included in our stay. Adjoining restaurant, Redd Wood, was terrific, raising eggs and home fries to a new level at breakfast. We have stayed at some of the best spas in the country and, although the North Block spa is small, two of the massage therapists -- Liv and CCC -- are as good as any we have experienced. A nice "hip" vibe that seems to appeal to all ages. And all within walking distance of downtown Yountville. We would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Read more

We loved the North Block! The staff was extremely helpful, and willing to go the extra mile for us. For example, before we arrived I called to ask for recommendations for restaurants in the area as well as Wineries. I was immediately emailed a list of recommendations and they went ahead and booked Buchon for us. It was amazing! We told them our anniversary and then arrived at our room greeted by a bottle of wine and a happy anniversary card. The staff will accommodate any reasonable request. The rooms are very clean and we loved the modern decor. The heated floor and rain shower head in the bathroom is a plus too. Only minor complaints would be there was only 1 trash can in the whole room, which was in the bathroom. Was only an issue because we had leftover food from the restaurant and some things from the wineries that needed to be thrown away. They up graded us to a king room instead of a queen, but we think that was because there were some other guest that may have needed a bottom floor entry. The bottom floor entry also has a small patios that face the courtyard. Ours had a balcony that faced construction. Otherwise the staff was young but extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed at Bardesonno the week before and this hotel is as good or better. The bed was wonderful, the heated bathroom floor was great, and size and style of room very relaxing. The minuses were smoke from the restaurant, construction noise, and the staff not so friendly. The price we paid for this hotel versus the Bardesonno was well worth it.

This hotel is great for the area, and only 20 rooms. Probably one of the top 3 in this locale. We tried calling the hotel directly to book a last minute, one night stay. The price they quoted was at least $100 MORE than what we found on Expedia. I was surprised that the front desk/reservation staff didn't at least offer us the same rate quoted, or even […] a slight discount since it was 7 p.m. already and their reservations were probably done for th evening. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable beds, and quaint little walkways. Didn't have time to use the services, like pool/spa, but there is complimentary continental breakfast each day. The staff needs updating regarding surrounding restaurants. We asked for a few suggestions and were told that everything closed by 10 p.m. on a Sunday. I'm the nit-picking, outspoken critic who makes sure that if something isn't as good as it should be, it's known to the staff, management, and anyone else that will listen. […] That being said, Hotel Luca was absolutely as close to the perfect place to stay as I could ask for given the location. I have only 1 complaint if it could be called a complaint; the bathroom floors are heated, however the heating section nearest to the toilet was not functioning. This gave me a surprise the first night when I got up to use the restroom. But other than that, Luca is absolutely amazing. Kudos to Bernice at the front desk. The hotel is very lovely,sadly our room was facing the motorway and there was some disruption with construction next door,we had no view and just a wall of a patio to the rear....it is not a cheap hotel and all rooms should have a nice outlook for this price range. There is much to recommend staying in Yountville. You can walk to numerous fine restaurants (the Keller lineup and then some) and several good tasting rooms. We enjoyed the hotel - a lovely courtyard centers a small number of rooms. Our room felt quite small, but it was nicely done. The bathroom also was lovely despite some quirky choices in fixtures. […] The breakfast that comes with the room (in the adjoining restaurant) is generous and well made. Other service was good if a little inconsistent (we got turndown service one night but not another). It is odd that the housekeeping closets are entered through small doors outside a couple of the rooms - if your room is by one of these (which ours was), it can get noisy. The Hotel Luca was outstanding! All thestaff including the spa were friendly and more than helpful. Bedding was top end and the heated bathroom floor was unexpected. No tipping. We were the only ones in the hot tub but the pool could have been a bit warmer. Breakfast was included and both the selection and quality was very good. All the rooms had small […] front sitting areas that faced an inside coutyard. It was private and quiet yet had a common area with an outside fireplace. What a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a glass of champagne! We might plan a trip back just for the hotel. Not far from local shops & bakery.
