One of Spain’s biggest ports and the provincial capital, Malaga’s city centre has undergone a major facelift in recent years to attract many tourists who would usually pass straight to the local resorts. The historic centre features narrow streets surrounding the iconic lopsided cathedral. Plaza Merced is the birthplace of artist Pablo Picasso. Above it all sits the hilltop fortress of the Alcazaba.see all hotels in Malaga
fantastic location and staff at desk was great with suggestionsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was very roomy, and centrally located where all the main attractions are. The hotel was clean, and hi-tech, but the only thing that could have been better was the softness of the beds, little too firm. Other than that, great friendly staff too. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel but better deals available"
Stayed the first night in Malaga at the Petit Palace but switched the second to the Molina Lario which is also in an excellent central location because I did not like the size of the room and could not look out of the window because it was 6 feet above room floor level and gave you the feel of a basement room even though it was in the 4.floor .What […] we had the 2nd night in the other hotel was so much better for just a little bit more money and it made the petit palace look even worse. "Nice small historic hotel"
We loved this hotel! It is a beautiful old building with lovely windows with enclosed balconys which you see on narrow streets in old Spanish cities. The exterior of the hotel maintained it's historical roots while the rooms were very modern with sleek new furniture. The room was spacious, nice bath room and helpful staff. We always look for old hotels […] in city centers---this hotel fit us very nicely. We stayed here during Samana Santa-Holy Week and could see the processions from out balcony-very nice!! "C.ose to sights but NO Parking"
This is a nice hotel in the center of the city. But if you are driving it is hard to find, no way to drive to it, and no parking nearby. Plan to spend $25/day to park 10 minutes walk distance. That said, the hotel is fine, good breakfast. Everything nearby. Be careful on reservation. We paid for 5 beds and they first provided us with a room for 4. Fortunately, […] when the mistake was pointed out - even as we arrived late at night, they switched us to another room that was correct. Staff was friendly. I would stay there again but not come by car. Take a cab from airport and rent a car later. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel in malaga near cathedral for tourists!"
GREAT LOCATION nearby constitution plaza and cathedral yet quiet as tucked in quiet street. modern rooms and fancy designs and helpful staff. having a laptop to use in your room is a big plus eventhough we had our own cell phone to use. we didn't eat the hotel breakfasts as we had day excursions planned early each day and the hotel helped us schedule […] taxi service as needed. we'd stay at this hotel location again and be interested in other hotels of this chain as they seem to be located in convenient spots in various cities. "MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THIS HOTEL"
IT WAS "OK" - SOME THINGS WERE GREAT, SOME WERE NOT!! THE RECEPTION STAFF WAS GREAT, FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGABLE. THE HOTELS PHYSICAL LOCATION IS GREAT, JUST A VERY SHORT BLOCK OFF THE MAIN PEDESTRIAN PLAZA AND MALL. PARKING/TRAFFIC IS A REAL PROBLEM, WE SPENT 2 HOURS CIRCLING DOWNTOWN MALAGA TR LOCATING THE HOTEL. THERE ARE NO DRIVING OR PARKING DIRECTIONS […] IN EITHER THE HOTEL OR HOTEL.COM'S WEBSITES. ONCE WE FINALLY GOT TO THE HOTEL THE DESK WAS FAMILIAR WITH PARKING OPTIONS, AND WE HAD NO PROBLEMS REST OF STAY....WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW AHEAD OF TIME!! THE ROOM AS WELL APPOINTED, HI-TECH, BUT THE BEDS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, A SINGLE HARD MATTRASS ON A WOODEN RAISED PLATFORM. THE ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN, BUT THE HALLWAY RUGS (ORANGE) WERE FILTHY. THE ESPRESSO MACHINE IN THE LOBBY ONLY WORKED HALF THE TIME, THE WATER BOTTLE HAD NO CUPS HALF THE TIME. BREAKFAST BUFFET IS NOT WORTH PRICE. MY 2 DAUGHTERS AND 2 GRAND-DAUGHTERS ALSO SHARED A "FAMILY" ROOM - QUEEN BED AND 2 BUNK BEDS IN ONE LARGE ROOM - SLEPT 4 OK, BUT NOT A LOT OF PRIVACY IN A SINGLE ROOM. THE HOTEL ADVERTISES LAUNDRY FACILITIES, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY "SEND-OUT', AND EXPENSIVELY PRICED PER ARTICLE. MY TV ONLY HAD 2 ENGLISH SPEAKING CHANNELS - CNN AND BBC - BUT BBC PICTURE WAS "FROZEN "FOR SEVERAL DAYS.....BUT IN CHECKING MY DAUGHTERS' ROOM TV, THEY HAD MANY ENGLISH SPEAKING CHANNELS OPERATING????? IN SUMMATION, GREAT STAFF AND LOCATION, BUT I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice hotel and the best location .."
This hotel is a very nice hotel in the center of Malaga. One is so close to the main spots and nice restaurants that this city offers. I love the place. One of the things that was challenging is that the bathtub is really high. I wonder how older people are able to get into the bathtub. My other concern is that the temperature in the room was warm and […] if you get out the air conditioning goes off once you take your access card that gives power to the room's electrical system. The girl at the counter helped me by giving me an additional access card that I was able to use to keep the airconditioning and electricity working while I was out. My husband and I stayed here with 3 children. The rooms were somewhat small but nice and clean. Everyone was comfortable and after we learned how to use the lights it was great. You will hear street noise but that's probably true with most hotels in Malaga. The location was incredible. That's what made our stay most enjoyable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in Malaga, Spain"
Excellent value and a great location, in Malaga's historic center. Just a few steps away from Calle Larios, the Cathedral and other attractions. Be warned that this is a pedestrian-only area, so you'll need to haul your luggage one or two blocks from wherever the taxi drops you off. Breakfast is not included and must be paid for separately. Wi-fi access […] is free and available in all rooms, but the user/password must be typed-in each time you connect, which I found a bit tiresome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Immaculate, modern in historic district - great!"
This is a great hotel in a wonderful location in the middle of the historic district of Malaga. It is beautifully modern on the inside and immaculate. Only less than perfect thing is that the beds are not a plush and large as a could be accommodated in the rooms. But the rooms (we stayed twice) have great views) and also the bathrooms are immaculate […] with modern fixtures and huge tubs. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Petit Palace Malaga -- at center of old town"
Very pleasant hotel, center of the old town, and walking distance to port for our cruise ship.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location and value of this hotel is exceptional, but there are some cons: our "window" was a view of an inner 'hall' (meaning we had to keep the curtains closed all the time), and the mattress resembled the quality of something one would expect at a hostel, not a 4-star hotel. Two of these mattresses were combined to form a 'king', but they were […] too soft to make me feel like one. On the other hand, the shower and full bath with jacuzzi jets was great, and a high-quality buffet breakfast for two was available for just 10 euro. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In-room laptop makes all the difference!"
Was @ this hotel for 9 days in Oct. Perfect location for visiting my daughter. Steps to Calle Larios, one of the main streets in Malaga. Clean, but not plush room. Minibar ridiculously overpriced, so bring your own snacks. Best thing is the in-room laptop; I used it to make additional travel arrangements, scout out shopping opportunities, etc. Couldn't […] have gotten by without it. Would definitely stay here again. In general, I found that the star rating is a little more generous in Spain than in the US. This hotel is rated 4 stars, but in the US I think it would be more like a 2 1/2 -3 star hotel. Nevertheless, would still recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"BEST Location and excellent value"
You will not be sad that you booked this hotel! It is located right in the middle of everything. It is so easy to go out and then stop back by the hotel throughout the day to use the restroom, take a nap or what not. The rooms were very clean and came with the usual 4 star amenities. There are many nearby small seafood tapas joints that are excellent. […] This is right in the middle of great shopping too. I cannot say enough about how great the location is. The hotel is in a pedestrian only zone so to get to the hotel you have to park about 2-3 blocks away at one of the nearby parking centers. Be sure to tell them that you are staying at the hotel because you get a discount on the parking. You will not need a car in this location. They have nice rooms for families as well. "Not as modern as they say"
Sensors in hallways very annoying as you have to be directly under them to trigger the lights to turn on. This leads to walking down many darkened hallways. Room was spacious with a lot of light. However, all rooms smell of cigarette smoke even though they are labeled as "non-smoking." Front desk insisted there was nothing they could do and gave us […] a bottle of freshener spray. "Great family hotel in the heart of Malaga"
Great little hotel close to major sights, dining and shopping. Very clean and well maintained. Nice features like in-room laptop and bikes for use. Good breakfast. Desk staff competent but not too outgoing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spacious, convenient location, and high tech"
A very spacious room and bathroom! The bed are fairly comfortable. The drain of the sink was slow, but since I only had a short stay, I didn't bother changing rooms. The shower was great; wonderful water pressure, generous hot water, and multiple water jets. A great asset is the free Wi-Fi and especially the laptop in each room! (There's no business […] center, so if you need something printed you have to email it to the receptionist.) Laptop has Skype ready for use. The lights in the halls are controlled by motion sensors, so it takes getting used to (could be considered creepy/scary). It is on a side street right behind the Mango store in the promenade. The promenade and Plaza is filled with banks, stores and tourist-filled restaurants/cafes. Area seemed safe. At night, the promenade and plaza are cleaned thoroughly but I wasn't bothered by any noise of the sanitation workers/trucks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"hotel petit palace malaga"
Superb hotel located in the heart of malaga, friendly and helpful staff and ideally located for shops, bars and restaurants, all of which are on the doorstep. Just round the corner from the cathedral. Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough and would definitely go back there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok for a short break"
The first thing i noticed about the hotel is that it is very dark. Our room was tiny and our view was of a wall! The staff weren't all that helpful either, when I asked for recommendations of good places to eat they didn't seem to know. I wouldn't say it was 4 stars either. Saying that we were not there that much and they do have free wifi.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Better for business travellers"
Generally good hotel, with a central location that makes it easy to enjoy the city. The central courtyard is pretty, though the room itself was rather charmless and the orange decor began to grate after a couple of days. For a four star establishment it fell short on creature comforts, aside from the laptop and free wifi (the latter was handy) there […] was little in the service to make you feel particularly welcome or pampered. Probably best for a business traveller or short stay rather than someone who is looking for a more memorable holiday experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tapas City by the Sea"
It's been said before, the Hotel has got to be in the Best Location in Malaga. Malaga, let's just call it Tapas City, Great Food, Very Clean environment, Friendly people, No Drunks wandering around, and Street Entertainment all night, Although I thought I was going to have to give one Guitarist a P45 as I had bumped into him so many times .. & Paid […] him. Easy level walking everywhere, Marina about 12 mins., Beach a further 5. Try the Sardines cooked over Charcoal on the Beach. The Staff at the Hotel were very helpful, nothing too much trouble, Free Bicycles & Baby buggies although the Bikes have seen better days.. Not really robust enough. If you do like Tapas then you must go to Tapeo de Cervantes, turn right out of the hotel and follow the narrow street for about 8 mins, on your right just before the Cervantes theatre. Voted Number 1 in Spain if they gave Michelin stars to these bars it would get 4. You also have the Tourist information centre right next door to the Hotel, very helpful ladies. Went to the Market on Sunday out by the Congress Centre about 10 Euro taxi ride, I think the dearest thing was about 22 Euros, Lots of novelty gifts to take home but the star of the show was the Fresh Produce, Example 1 Kilo Garlic 2 Euros. Guy's prepare to come home with your Flexible friend bent out of shape cause it's a Spend, Spend, Spend place for the Ladies... Enjoy, we would certainly go back. "Great hotel for groups wanting a central location."
This hotel is extremely well placed for anyone wanting to enjoy the older parts of Malaga. It is in easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, tapas bars and other leisure facilities which the city has to offer. It is not directly accessible by vehicle so you have to walk to / from a drop off point, but the busy, adjacent Marques de Larios and Placa […] de Constitucion make this easy to overcome. Although in the centre, the hotel is in a quiet sidestreet and does not appear to be affected by street noise at night. Breakfast was reasonably priced and good quality. Although the rooms for our party varied in size and facilities, all were very clean, well maintained and presentable. Staff were all very helpful - with some English speakers to assist. We have stayed in other hotels in Malaga but would certainly recommend this hotel for its combination of location, reasonable facilities and competitive cost. However, if 5 star luxury is required then this is not the hotel for you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is a confortable hotel best suited to tourists who spend most of their time exploring the city. It is exceptionally clean and fresh and in the best location for city break tourists. "Perfect location in Malaga"
To be fair, the rating is more to do with the location of the hotel. The Hotel is great - a quintuple room for 2 adults and 3 teenagers perhaps sounds a bit daunting, but as it's so centrally located to the main plaza in Malaga and all the shops, bars and restaurants it's easy to just vacate the room when the kids are taking years to get ready and fighting […] over the mirror. You can park in the underground car park by the harbour about 5 mins walk away - dead easy (costs about £25 per 24 hour parking - but hey - it's all about the location - right ...) The room is spacious, modern and well provided for - free wifi and a free internet ready laptop in your room provides those essential digital needs. The staff are friendly and efficient but not out of the ordinary. Plus is all done up in a funky orange decor - quite nice in an essentially classic building. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
