We were traveling from Seattle to Tofino and stayed here on an overnight stopover. The weather was not cooperative so we didn't have a chance to do any investigation of the surrounding area. Our group of 6 all enjoyed the top floor unit we stayed in and the layout worked well to accomodate us all. This is hotel is fantastic as you drive up to it. But, once you check in, they let u know that it does not have daily cleaning or changing of towels, etc. You actually have to go down and ask for more towels, coffee, sugar, or anything you might need. It does not state this on their site, so it was quite the shock, as we were there for 3 days. The rooms […] are actually pretty nice, but the site says full kitchen. Well all that means is that it has is a microwave and sink with dinnerware. The staff was great, but they would have to be to tell their customers no so many times. Read more

Great hotel! We usually stay at the Beach Club but got a way better deal at the Sunrise Ridge Waterfront. It was nice having a full kitchen with nice wine glasses in the room and great towels. We also enjoyed the table and chairs on the deck where there was a BBQ available if you chose to eat in. We checked in and there was about 6 other cars in the garage and parking lot. As far as I could tell there could not have been many rooms in use while we were there our 2 nights. We were very disappointed in the fact we got a parking lot /Trailer Park view. The wi if was terrible when it did work and the location was not on beach front as far as I could […] tell. We spent 2 very pleasant nights at the sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. As we were coming to the end of a 2 week trip we decided to use the cooking facilites that were provided instead of "eating-out". The kitchen was very well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave and plenty […] of cutlery and crockery. Even a washing machine and tumble drier if we had needed it - plus of course a barbecue on the balcony. It was amazing! The room was beautiful!! It was huge. I loved that there was a full kitchen and two bathrooms! There was no pool or hot tub but we did nit have time to go into one anyways. The info said there was usage of the other resorts pool gym hot tub which i would have taken advatage of had there been just one more day. I loved this place :)

We stayed there as it was close to where we attended a family wedding. It was a nice facility but lacked some amenites such as a pool and sauna.Room was very nice as was the lobby area.

The rooms are very luxurious! The resort claims to be a waterfront resort, but you have to walk about 10 minutes down a dirt road through the bush to get the the path down to the water. No views. There are no amenities in the resort, but you can access the pool and gym at a nearby resort down the road

Overall, the resort was a nice place to stay, quiet, clean, and close to the ocean. The bed was comfortable which is a plus!

We wished that we had stayed more than one night at Sunrise Ridge. The room had all the amenties that we would need, including fully stocked kitchen and spare bathroom. It was also in very good condition. However it was disappointing that there was no pool or even hot tub (although you are allowed to use the hot tub of another hotel down the street). […] We also never saw any ocean, although the name is waterfront resort. There was a sign for a trail to the beach but we just went to the public beach in town. (The resort is about a ten minute drive from downtown Parksville.) A promising concept was behind Sunrise Ridge, however, the resort is far from complete. Currently, there are no pools, no view, terrible beach access and no air conditioning. The room was decorated very nicely and was very clean. We just didn't expect the dirt/ gravel parking lot or the fact that the unit would not have air conditioning. The official […] website for the resort did state that the pools and playground had yet to be completed, but what IS there feels like a deserted construction project and that perhaps the developer ran out of funds.
