The hotel was too warm ~ lobby, etc. but the air conditioner worked great in our room, and we left it on while we were at the concert and it was nice... to come back to. Had to wait to be checked in, rang the bell and waited about 15 minutes for someone to show up. Decent price, only 8 miles from the venue, and room was very clean. The Greater Meriden area, as well as New Haven and even the Berkshires, can be viewed from atop Castle Craig in Hubbard Park. Built in 1900, the castle sits 1,002 feet above sea level, with hiking trails leading to the 32-foot-high structure. Closer to the center of town is the 1711 Solomon Goffe House, Meriden's oldest remaining building and home to a living history museum with costumed guides.

When we arrived the lobby was nice and appeared to be a great hotel. Then once you enter the elevator things change. The elevator was warm, the hallways were awfully hot. We mentioned this to the guy behind the front desk when we left for dinner and he said, yes, we have no air conditioning in the hallways. Only in the room. I will give it that, the […] room did work but the hallways were aweful hot. Then I turned on the lamp light, and it did not work. We were able to turn on a second one and then we tried to figure out what was wrong with the first, we found the problem, it only had one bulb (place for two) and it was burned out. I called the front desk and the lady that answered said "I don't know, maybe we have some, maybe I bring to you". I said maybe? She said "yes, maybe". This is another culture so I thought well maybe means yes in their culture so we waited and no one came. So we had to go down to the front desk to get some. I would say, if it were me, I would find another hotel. We could have stayed there for three nights but we paid more to find another hotel. Normally I don't take the time to rate hotels, but this time, we thought it was a good idea to warn other folks. Read more

Not a bad place but... Had to call the manager twice because people in the next room had their tv up so loud it was keeping us awake. The floor around the air conditioner was soaking throughout our stay. Breakfast was the usual serve yourself, but they were short on what food they did offer. Recommend you plan on breakfast somewhere else.

We usually stay at a different hotel in the area which was booked and had no choice but to stay here .. the breakfast was ok ..the room was clean .. but needed updating ..the staff was so - so .. not very freindly ..

This is a relatively new hotel a little north of town. Not many other guests when we were there. Quiet, clean and a decent breakfast. Squeaky floors but no other complaint. Will stay there again.

Close to all sites of interest in its area. Hotel staff were good and efficient. A hot breakfast was served and a good selection of accompanying food items were available. Good value for money given it was a Public Holiday weekend.
