A lovely, clean room with towels, little bottles of shampoo and shower gel, and best of all a kettle and tea-making facilities. So important! My only reservation is it was a little hard to get to - around half an hour by bus from the city centre, and then my room was another ten minutes' walk from reception.

Location is a bit distant for long-term stays, however it's surrounded by nice scenery and bus access to the city centre is prompt and conveinient. The room itself was quiet and clean with the exception of a couple large beetles! Honestly, good value for the money. : )

Directions to Campus Reception were unclear but ensuite room was v comfortable. On site canteen catering was convenient and to a good standard although busy with visits from overseas school parties (summer holidays). Convenient for access to motorway and Edinburgh bypass if you don't need to enter the city centre. Good no-frills standard of single-room accommodation.

This was among the best on-campus accommodationo I've stayed in. The rooms are clean, warm and with all the facilities one could ask for. It's a bit out of the city, but buses run regularly, even throughout the night. Visitor parking available. The only problem was the cleaners barging into the rooms in the morning.

There is a bus that comes on campus that has service to the airport; I liked the laundry facilities which includes irons and ironboards; the food was good (breakfast and dinner); they have a convenience shop; the room has television; bring a plug for internet service; the two bad things are; the bed - the most uncomfortable bed ever, I had to sleep on top of the comforter so as not to feel the springs ( I only weigh 115 lbs); if anyone talks in the hallways around the buliding, it sounds like they are in your room.

Was looking for cheap accommodation so I could see the Edinburgh festival and this came up on the search. Lovely grounds, stayed in a student halls of residence, fairly samll basic room with no tv, and shower only but clean. Car parking was around 500m away. Only minor gripes were free internet often denied web pages (yet my online game still worked) and the room service ladies were getting earlier and earlier with their one knock and then barge in service (not good if you've had a late one!) Canteen was great, and the grounds and gardens with its own lake were very impressive. I would go again

I went for this place because it's so expensive in town. But it is actually really convenient - near the airport / road links, park and ride. No issues getting there, parking and out into town. OK it's a bit of a hike getting back - but you save so much on the accomodation you can just hope in a taxi. I stayed off the drink and it takes no time driving from the centre of town back to the halls at night.

What I expected from a University campus. It's clean and functional. Restaurant closes at 20:00 so I did not use it. £7 for breakfast is too much for a refectory buffet. 6 miles Out of the City, but regular bus service. Bad Point Cash machine on site charges £1-99 for each withdrawal!

The room was perfect for what I needed... a place to sleep. It's a small room, but I only went there to shower and sleep. I was disappointed with the shower, there was mold inside. Hot water, clean for the most part, comfortable bed and quiet. It is about a 40min ride to the city center, but it was worth it considering the campus is beautiful and clean! I would definatly stay there again. It was definatly worth the price!

Heriot Watt provides a nice clean room with ensuite bathroom. It's located in a quiet, natural environment about 40 minutes busride from the heart of edinburgh. Buses run continually and cost only 1,20 per single or 3,00 for a day ticket. The only downside was that the busconnexion from/to the airport on saturday and sunday is virtually non existent. But it's very easy to order a cab at the Heriot Watt reception desk which will cost around 10 pounds for a single trip. All in all a great place to stay if you don't mind not staying in the city centre!

First, it's NOT a hotel, it's a building for student, so you'll sleep in a student room. Quite useful to sleep (but quite noisely sometimes), to take a shower, but after that, only one thing to do... jump in a bus! To sum up, really too expansive for what you'll get !!!
