Generally Upscale. Located away from city center in a gated enclave. 15 minute walk to Bouda. 30 minute rush hour taxi (500 NR +/-) to Thamel, 15 non rush. Hotel Cafe pretty good. Does not cost more to eat same menu in room. Rooms are very quiet but be ready for possible exterior barking dog noise. Pool not heated. Free shuttle on schedule to downtown. […] OK gym and spa. Good staff service. Lobby stunning. Authentic live music in lobby. if not going downtown, eat in hotel or walk down to Bouda Stupa area. Nice hotel, but the service is one of the worst I've ever seem. We waited for almost 2 hours to get our luggage, we requested an extra bed in advance, and it was not there, we have to call twice to get it, we didn't have enough towels, The food was expensive and bad, it took a long time to get our drinks, better eat somewhere else.

I booked a night at the Hyatt on my return from my trek to Everest base camp and Island Peak. I figured that I needed some R&R as well as a change from the tiresome squalor of Kumbu's teahouses and the dust and filth on the road. The Hyatt is situated on several acres and is fenced off from the surrounding dirt, noise and chaos of Kathmandu's city neighbourhoods. […] It is truly a relief to enter the hotel's grounds and the quiet, peacefulness and cleanliness of the hotel is fantastic. The staff are very attentive and constantly attend to your every need and request. I ate breakfast and dinner at the buffet restaurant and everything was delicious. The food was a mixture of Western dishes, and Indian/Nepalese/Asian dishes. My only complaint, and the reason I am giving the hotel a rating of 4, is that I developed severe diarrhoea and vomiting 36 hours afterwards. So, I ended up staying there on the same dates that they decided to fire the entire staff of the hotel. Which meant that I had to enjoy my coffee in the hotel cafe while riot police and managers scrambled to keep the recently fired staff from attacking people. Needless to say, I won't be staying there again. I guess if you like being the rich white […] people on the block, and you like having to pay taxi drivers twice as much as normal to get you out off of the hotel property, and you like overpriced momo, then you'll probably enjoy this place. In their defense, they're the only place in Nepal with central heating, which (if you think about it) is a pretty amazing feature in a country as backwards and corrupt as Nepal. Read more

And as such, exceeded both my requests and expectations. After 3 weeks in India (at 50C, no less!), it was great to be welcomed as we were. The hotel has 6 months , new. If you are turist perhaps stay near south Mumbai , where every thing happens. If you take the hotel car , its costs 100 dolars to go to south mumbai. If you take on the street you pay only 7 ou 10 dollars. The hotels smells brand new and they play Lounge music erevy where. It looks like W hotels.

I understand Hyatt Regency and the Radisson are the ONLY TWO international chain hotels in Kathmandu. I didn't try the latter but the Hyatt is way way way above self-proclaimed hotels such as Hotel Shangrila (which I stayed in and which is not the international chain you thought). Don't get cheated. It may not be in the best condition you would expect from the same chain in other more modern cities but in a city such as Kathmandu, this is actually of very high quality. The stay was OK but the location of the hotel is so far from the city its like being on the moon. Restaurant food not very good and very expensive.The wait to be fed was so very long. The Irish Coffee was soooo good. The travel agent was very good and helpful. The club room was full of very loud people. We specifically requested a non smoking room but on arrival shown to a smoking room which smelt dreadful! We requested a room change to be told if a guest in a non smoking room requests an ash tray they haven to provide one! So they cannot guarentee a non smoking room! Food was limited choice also.

Don't go by the google maps location of this hotel. It is actually situated 10km away from the city center and business location. There are no good shopping complex around the place. Apart from the location, as such the hotel itself is good. Nice architecture, open and inviting. I was disappointed with the shower cubical cleaning (or lack of it)

The hotel provides comfort and is some sort of a resort in a middle of a tedious city. Its located out of the center, like half an hour drive from Thamel. Its graet disadvantage: The hotel does not provide proper travel information and travel assistance (sights, bus and air transportation possibilities, connectivity etc.)

My husband and I recently enjoyed a week at the Hyatt in Kathmandu, and were very pleased. Especially nice was having a break from the dirty, noisy streets in a quiet grassy compound. The restaurants and cafes were friendly and nice; the high-end restaurant was especially good, and inexpensive by western standards. We stayed 5 days with a 4 and 1 yr old; the stupa lobby is awesome and kids loved playing there, so was the property - lawns and pools. Centrally located with easy cab access and we went nearby (10 mins walk with stroller) for lunch daily - lots of restaurants near Boudha/stupa area. Buffets excellent, a la carte somewhat limited, with kids 50% off. […] The italian luxury restaurant was frankly lousy. We had some items like porridge and khichdi made off menu for kids - took a few iterations but they were cooperative. One issue - the rooms have no hand showers in either tub or shower, which makes it very difficult to bathe little ones. otherwise twice a day turndowns (we really made a mess) etc. made for a nice stay. 　今回は夫婦二人での利用でした。私たちにとってこれが新婚旅行であることを事前にメールにて伝えていたので、スタッフの方からお祝いの言葉をかけていただいたり、部屋にケーキを届けていただいたりと、さすがハイアットのサービス！という感じでした。 　その他、部屋も庭も清潔に整備されており、ここがあの賑やかなカトマンズであることを忘れるほどの快適さでした。レストランもなかなかの味で、特に洋食屋を探すのが難しいカトマンズにあっては、ありがたい存在でした。 　ただ、ホテルの建物の外周にはたくさんのハトがおり、ハトよけの対策がなされてはいるものの、ハトの鳴き声が少々気になりました。 　また、このクラスのホテルにしてはめずらしく、無料の空港送迎サービスがないのも残念でした。有料のサービスは、一人あたり９ドルのも […] のと、貸切車２０ドルのものが用意されているようでしたが、私たちは民間のタクシーを利用しました。空港の到着出口すぐに定額のタクシー窓口がありますが、ハイアット価格なのか６５０ルピーもかかりました。（単純にメーターで換算すると３００ルピーくらいでしょうか？） 　逆にホテルから空港までは、ホテルにてタクシーを呼んでもらい、値段を交渉して５００ルピー（運転手の言い値は６００ルピー）を支払いましたが、運転手は終始機嫌が悪く、ホテルで呼んでもらったタクシーでなければ危険を感じたかもしれません。 　注意するべきこととしては、チェックイン時に預かり金として、１０，０００ルピーをクレジットカードにて引き落とされ、ミニバーやレストランでの食事代を差し引いて返金される点です。英語での説明がなかなか聞き取れず、理解するまでに時間がかかりました・・・ Read more

団体のお客さんと到着時間が重なり、エントランスではウェルカムソングが流れ、額にビンディをつけてくれました。チェックイン時の対応は、慣れてない従業員だったのか、あまりかんじがよくありませんでした。エキストラベッドを頼んでおきましたが、客室に入った時にはまだ用意されておらず、アメニティも二人分しかありませんでした。 ホテルにあるBarのメニューは軽食もあり価格が手ごろで満足。 客室では、外の鳩の鳴き声（窓際まで鳩が…）と、隣のお客さんの声が部屋と部屋の間にあるドアらしきものからまる聞こえで夜眠れず。。。 エントランス、レセプション、レストランなどの設備は立派でしたが、ハイアットとしてはちょっと物足りなさを感じました。

直にホテル手配するとおそらく４人家族は二部屋になってしまったかと思います。 しかしこちらのサイトでは４人設定ができ、また、現地でエクストラベッドも無料で用意していただき、かなりリーズナブルで泊まらせていただきました。 久しぶりに家族一部屋で泊まり、いい思い出になりました。 部屋は隅々まで気が回っていました。バスタブもピカピカ。 一つ思うのは、夜のビュッフェはあまり日本人の口に合うものが少ない。アラカルトメニューもあるので、そちらの方がお薦めかも。 全体的に大満足でした。
