Have already said, this is my fave place arround Vallarta. The price is high, but everything is top notch. I love that many of the staff rber us from a previous visit, it added a nice touch.

We loved staying at this beautiful hotel, it rescued our vacation. We had checked into a different hotel that was supposedly rated as five-star, however could only endure two days there. We just spent 6 days at Villa la Estancia for our honeymoon and it was even better than we were expecting. The staff was so nice and helpful; from the minute we arrived we practically felt like royalty! They rooms are amazing - pictures don't even do justice to the views. This property is very good. Pool staff and pool restaurant staff are excellent and friendly If one only goes for a beach and pool resort this is one to pick. They are a $US22 ride from Puerto Vallarta itself. My real complaint is that one never sees any management staff walking around intermingling with the guest or supervising the staff. The staffs are very friendly and knowing how to say Gracias can get you very far here. Do bring medicine for athlete foot if you are prone to it. And bug spray is not a bad idea either. The hotel, staff and beach were all amazing. The food was very fresh and enjoyable, Drinks were perfect (not weak) and our overall experience was fantastic! They have tennis courts, bikes to use, and many other fun activities that you can access for free. A family of 4 or 5 OR 2 couples could easily have this place and be very comfortable with plenty of privacy. There was a full kitchen and in-unit laundry, as well as spacious balconies off both the living room and master bedroom area, complete with a grill! The only downside was the bed which was very hard- After telling the front desk this upon my departure the lady mentioned they have sleeping pads to soften up the bed so ext time I'll try that. This place was really wonderful and very very relaxing. It's not the party hotel in Mexico, it is the perfect place to really chill out, play in the pool, beach or around the grounds. Read more

Had 2 bedroom suite reserved and was upgraded to 3 bedroom due to Expedia Elite staus. This was more than my wife,son and I needed, but we did request a higher floor (was on 2 with decent view, moved to 9 with excellent view). All Inclusive was the way to go- only paid tips on room service and gave servers an additional 5 bucks for meals. We took a bunch of ones and fives for this purpose. Spa is excellent. I think the best way to settle in on arrival is to go to the spa and do their Hot tub, water fall, steam or sauna, and then the shower with the massive water flow- it will wash the travel right away and you will be ready to hit the beach or pool. Food was excellent. We felt safe there and on the beach as well as going into the towns. Costs $23 to go to Puerto Villarta by cab. Staff is EXCELLENT and proud of their work. We ususally go someplace different just for the change, but would go back here. This expereince made us want to try the Cabo location. Read more

We had a truly remarkable trip to La Villa Estancia. The food was amazing - best calamari ever, best fresh tasting pina coladas and don't skip the "green juice" at breakfast. The healthy juice probably cancelled out the not so healthy calamari! Also, they have a really good ceasar salad. We did the all inclusive option, which was a real steal considering […] that our dinner each night would have cost twice what we paid for the all inclusive for the whole day. The hotel was at 15% occupancy, which meant that we were able to get up, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, play some tennis and then hit the beach and have our choice of loungers, at which point the pool concierge set up our chairs and towels for us, along with extra "pillow:" towels. Many times we had the beach area to ourselves. There were beach vendors, but they were not loud or pushy, just walked by showing their wares. I would say that the only downside of this resort was the lack of bar to hang out at in the evenings. The pool bar closes at 6pm each day, and the only remaining bar is the restaurant, which is not really a bar at all. The sister resort next door is a short walking distance and they had a small bar there, as well as restaurants that are part of the all inclusive package. Also, there is 24 hour room service. The gym was well equipped with lots of cardio machines, weights and lockers/showers. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Read more

The beds are rock hard but the rooms are nice and do not have the "carribean resort" feel. The pool bar is great, but the wait staff is a little under staffed so service is slow. One thing to note is that the pool bar closes ar 6pm so one must go next door to the sister facility for after dinner drinks.

If you want to be treated like royalty, you must stay at the Villa La Estancia when you travel to the Puerto or Nuevo Villarta area. I would also recommend the all-inclusive package as you will spend that and more per day if you don't. If you are looking for a quiet time, La Estancia is for you . . . the pool, beach area, and rooms are for a more mature […] crowd and the great thing is that if you want more of a party or family atmosphere, the Flamingos Resort is right next door and is a shared property with La Estancia. So we were able to eat at the Italian and International restaurants and bars at Flamingos in addition to the wonderful Steakhouse and Piano Bar at La Estancia. The concierge is very friendly and helpful, the spa is top notch, and the Steakhouse chef is greatly talented and very creative in his menu. I would recommend having the Chef's Dinner when you are there - he comes to your villa and prepares your meal in your kitchen, matches each course with a fabulous wine and you are served on your terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
