"Amalia Hotel, great location"
Great location, reasonable price, we had an AC (central air) that was very weak so don't get a room located at the end of the hall. Staff was helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Central Athens hotel"
Nice hotel one block to Syntagma Sguare. Great breakfast. Ten minute walk to center of Plaka.Genuine Expedia guest review
Considering we were coming after visiting Switzerland, where hotel rooms were very small but still very expensive. This hotel really was worth the money. Location is great. Just 2 mins walk to the bus stop which takes you to the airport and all the historical places are walking distance from the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful and breakfast was […] great too. Really enjoyed our stay in Athens. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean & Convienient"
Only stayed 1 night prior to cruise but it is a great location. Walking distance from the Acropolis Museum and other attractions. Good neighborhood close to restaurants. Hotel was clean staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel arranged transportation from airport to hotel and hotel to cruise ship port (for a fee). Rooms are on the small side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Decent hotel. Clean, good location, next to a metro station and within walking distance to the Acropolis.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, very noisy, NOT 4 star, small room,"
Excellent staff, great stay. This is not a 4 star hotel, the bath fittings are 4 star for a tiny bath room, and the room is tiny. NO view. Noisy as it is in the center of the city, which is great because of transport and tourist facilities which are just steps away. Pricey for me, but was worth it because of closeness to every thing. The breakfast was […] included in my room charge and was fantastic ( 20 E = about $26 pp, but was a gourmet spread!,). Again the staff and service was excellent. Would recommend ( if you can afford it) . I am sure there are plenty of alternatives, right in the area with same closeness to transport and tourist facilities which are priced much less, just need to do more research. Remember that photos on the internet are VERY deceiving! do not go by the photographs, use a map and location to add to your research. The Amalia is a family owned small hotel chain that is international and has a core tour bus/guide operation. We did not do their tours, but that is what I started out with in my research. We stayed two nights, slept poorly because of the noise and jet lag. Beds and mattresses were great. Only 1 pillow. Toilet does not take tissues, no bidet, but can use the flexible shower head for lavage. Charge for internet, laptop in lobby is free, with printer. Staff can give you all info about city and some info about transport. Neighboring cafes are limited but excellent and affordable. AC will work only with card in place, as in all Greek hotels. Good hotel and very convenient. No dinner option but plenty in the area. Bed mattress was too thin. All said I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful location. Can walk to many sights. Extensive breakfast buffet. Very clean and friendly help. Wifi in room costs. Express bus to airport right around corner. No noise issues on 5th floor. Downstairs bar expensive. Very nice wine bar around the corner. Reception staff great and willing to help with maps and suggestions for restaurants. Got one […] excellent suggestion. This time of year (Aug) many shops are closed. Would stay again and recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right next door to Metro and Airport Shuttle Bus"
The location is key here. Right next door to the Syntagma Square Metro Station (direct line to airport) and also the airport shuttle bus stop. Walking distance to Plaka and the Acropolis. They also have a great view of the entire city at the 7th floor. What else do you need?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean, polite employees, excellent breakfast buffet, central location (ten minutes to the Acropolis museum, and Acropolis itself, 1 minute to Syntagma square). Spacious rooms, amazing price for the area. You will not regret it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and great view of Athens"
The hotel location was perfect! We stayed for 3 nights before going to Crete. The location is right by everything we needed and wanted to see. The room was comfortable and the bathroom pretty big. The roof view of the city was amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Exactly what we needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice cliser to the town"
Was nice friendly people helpfull people The location is v good close to plaka the nice place and to the historical placeGenuine Expedia guest review
Outstanding location, the staff was somewhat cold but the location and access made up for that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Metro"
I enjoyed my stay at Amalia Hotel. The hotel is two short blocks from Syntagma Metro station. Easy access to the airport and other parts of town. The Acropolis and many other points of interest were walking distance. I was by myself one day and I (60 yr old female) felt comfortable walking and exploring on my own. Breakfast was included and there was […] a wide range of choices. WI-FI is an extra 5 Euros. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very convenience for tourist"
Very central of town ,easy to go to different tourist spots in Athens However level of front stall were lowest compare with same class of Hotel. It's need to improve their skill as HOTEL MAN???Genuine Expedia guest review
"Low class of front staff(Amelia HOTEL Athens)"
Quality of the front staff(excluding female saff) were lowclass of 4star class of HOTEL. Their service of Hotel Man was the lowest. mis guidance, mis announcement, etcGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic all around"
This hotel is in a great location close to airport transportation, historical sites, tours, and cool neighborhoods. The hotel and rooms were in top shape. The provided breakfast exceeded my expectation. It was a full buffet. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Modern hotel near Syntagma Square"
Clean, comfortable rooms. Within a block or so of Parliament and Syntagma Square. We easily wandered to the Plaka. No pool, spa, or work out facility.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel. Just as expected."
We needed a hotel near the X95 bus stop to the airport so that at 4 am, we woudn't have to stumble very far. Well, this is the one! It really is only a few hundred steps away. But we then found out the staff is as good as its location. Great little hotel. The only thing that might be of concern to a guest is that it is on a very busy main street, with […] some street noise. Our window faced the street, and we could hear it. But, your in Athens, I like the activity. Ask maybe for a side room, might be quieter? Great stay overall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amalia's stay from 05/05/13 to 05/08"
The Hotel is very comfortable and is very near to major location and close to train station etc. But the Hotel Staff is very terrible, they don't know how to talk to guests or customers. Air condition was broken in my room and requested to fix or change the room, but the hotel staff said they cant help as it is too late (7:00 PM ) for technician to […] fix. I even requested for Fan, as I was sweating, and they said there is no Fan also and told nothing they can do for me. They are real real terrible staff. So I wouldn't recommend this hotel because of staff as there are more 4 star hotels in the area and their staff hopefully better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent location, within a block of Syntagma Square Metro station, which is on the airport route. Excellent bed and bedding and quiet, which is important for my wife who is a light sleeper. Helpful hotel staff offering alternative activities and restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, ample room and friendly staff. The restaurant was very good and the caffe shop makes great cappuchinos.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amalia exceeded my expectations"
I was in Athens for work and chose the Amalia for both its rate and convenience. It is close to Syntagma Square, so taking Metro from airport was simple. The staff is excellent. Rooms were cleaning and ample sized. The breakfast was more than I expected. I will be going back and intend to stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Amalia is the BEST!!"
This Hotel is one of the best Hotel i stayed in, clean room, food was really good in the middle of Athens city. i do recommend it to everybody.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed here two different dates. One was wonderful, the second, not so much. If the second had been first, I wouldn't have returned. The second room had dirty carpet, loose towel racks, etc. This hotel is directly across the street from Syntagma Metro, which makes it convenient to everything, but not lose enough to walk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and service"
Excellent location, just one block from Syntagma Square and Metro Station. Walking distance from major points of interest (Zeus monument, Acropolis, Parliament, etc). Helpful staff, a huge option for (complimentary) breakfast, highly recommended, would definitely come back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amelia Hotel in December"
The location of this hotel is a selling point. It is an easy walk to Syntagma square and central Athens.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good stop-over before cruise"
very enjoyable stay, within walking distance of Acropolis and many shops along the way; min-bar was not what the name implies, simply a tray in the room with a couple jars of nuts and a couple cans of sodaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Outstanding location. Oner block from Syntagma Square in the center of Athens and close walking distance from the Plaka and all the famous Acropolus and Parthenon atteactions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We chose the hotel because its location was close to the end of our marathon run. It turns out it is really close to the center of Athens. That seems great until your balcony door doesn't seal and you are center stage to Athens traffic noise All Night Long. In addition, there seem to be nightly protests, all of which took place in Syragma Square which […] was a block away. Getting to and from the area often proved difficult. The good points are that it is luxurious by European standards and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Overall, if one can avoid staying in that area it is a good idea. If one cannot, Hotel Amalia is one of the better hotels to choose Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, service and breakfast"
We liked the hotel a lot. Location is perfect for seeing the sights of Athens. Clerks were helpful...they helped us plan our early morning departure to the airport. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room spacious. Our room was clean and well maintained.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"really close to parliament"
the complimentary breakfast was outstanding. we found out the hard way that you room card must be inserted in a slot outside the bathroom in order for the electricity to work. we arrived in the evening after a day of protests at the parliament - tear gas filled the air and lingered the next day. yes, I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There are by all accounts many hotels in the vicinity of the Amalia, but the Amalia provided the best value for what I was looking for centrally located, not overly stylized, a good view (deluxe room), good breakfast, and cheap or free wifi with a clean minimum standard. of course there were others with close or similar criteria, but some of these hotels […] were crammed into some small side street and claustrophobic. Or they charged for breakfast as an extra and 25 EUR at that. Or wifi was10-20 EUR a day. or quite simply charged a great deal more for some cheesy baroque furniture and marble. But ultimately, the staff were quite friendly and nothing to complain about. They even didn't charge me for the wifi, even though their rates were quite reasonable at 5 EUR a day and I stayed 4 nights! I'm Throughly pleased with my choice of The Amalia, Athens however... Excellent location: major tourist attractions within walking distance, easy access for public transportation. Included breakfast was great, too. Friendly and accomodating staff. Highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Some notes about Amalia Hotels - Athens Location: The most Important thing about this hotel is the location. a 30 seconds walk from syntagma square a walking time from all the best thing to see in athens like the Plaka, montraski market and Likivitos hill ( Though you'll have to climb a bit :D ). In addition, it's close to all transportation you'll […] need like the bus to the airport, and the tram and the metro. Since being in Athens is all about traveling location is the most important thing. In this hotel location is the best. Breakfast: pretty dissent, a nice variety to choose from. View: This section was the most disappointing for us. We got the impression this hotel offer a nice views to the acropolis or even at least some other nice views. This we learnt from the reviews and the pictures of the hotel here in expedia. We were really disappointed. The hotel is standing in front a road and our room was turn into a small alley. Maybe if you're lucky to get the front room you'll be lucky to catch a site of Likivitos heel and the national Garden. Staff: friendly and helpful Internet: Only one computer for the whole hotels, sometimes not very convenient. They charge 5 Euro a day if want a free Wifi. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Only complain is that they control the temperature of the room from a central location and can only be cooled to a preset point chosen by the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price to value"
Frindly staff, best breakfast in Greece, good location ( walking distance to every where ), only 3 connected rooms in the hotel we booked two rooms about month ago and requisted a connected rooms and was not provided.Genuine Expedia guest review
The best location in Athens, right next to Syntagma square, access to the airport with the Metro or Bus, walking distance to all the major museums, to Plaka and the pedestrian district with all the restaurants and shops. And an amazing buffet breakfast is included.I will definitely stay at this hotel next time in Athens.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Accomoding Staff! :)"
The hotel was great- great location, great room, and accommodating staff. What was really great was we had to leave early for the ferry and were going to miss the breakfast, the staff packed us up a breakfast for us! It was more than enough food and water, it made our stay extra special!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in the best location"
This is a first class hotel right in the center of Athens, Syntagma square, within walking distance to all the museums, the shopping district and restaurants. The central Metro station is right there, so you can go to the airport or to the port of Piraeus for boat rides with one Metro ticket,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A solid choice"
A clean, convenient hotel with a great breakfast and good service. The location is perfect for touring archaeological sites and visiting the Plaka. However, wifi is five euros a day and while there is air conditioning, the temperature for all rooms is set so you can't control it yourself.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel in Athens"

"Great place to stay, close to all must-see sights"
Great location, walk to Acropolis, Plaka, Syntagma square, etc. Clean room, nice breakfast, very helpful front desk people, they provided useful information from restaurant location, museum hour, to Ferry tickets. They let us stored our luggage for a few days when we took our trip to Santorini.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
