We felt that this hotel was a little run-down, but comfortable and close enough to the center of town that we could walk anywhere. The desk staff were not particularly helpful and slow to respond. Our stay was adequate but not one that we would repeat.

This hotel is a good value with direct access (out the main entrance) to Lake Rotorua and a nature walk around the lake. It is also within walking distance of the town center and the beautiful Rotorua Museum of Art and History and the Government Gardens. If you do not like to sleep with sulphur smells, however, an hotel farther away from the lake and geothermal activity is recommended. The hotel offers an entertaining "hangi," a Maori feast and dance performance, at a reasonable cost.
