"Good place to make your base for a few days..."Reviewed by Daniel W. of "Tampa, FL" on Apr 7, 2012
I only stayed here one night, but this would be a great place to bring a family, and stay for several days. The 2-bedroom condo was clean and comfortable, loved the gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and the kitchen was handy. Access to the units is a little inconvenient -- lots of steps to go up and down, especially if you're on the back side. But the location is great, just outside Banff, and just a 3 minute drive to Canmore.
"Comfortable and convenient"Reviewed by Ellen K of "British Columbia" on Mar 21, 2012
The room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting space in addition to the bed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, etc. Only complaints: 1) Early wake up call not received as requested for first morning (good thing I was up already) 2) Very noisy kids running in the hallway the first night 3) Radio came on early on second morning (I did not set it) I would stay here again.
"Radisson Hotel, Canmore, AB."Reviewed by Randy M of "Red Deer, AB." on Feb 23, 2012
Our stay was very pleasant an comfortable, and all of the staff were amazing. We had the best time in the bar with our sever who we made cry as she was laughing soo hard!! The menue was exquisite and our server, Julia, treated us like royalty! Our favourite dessert was some frozen cheese cake balls, twice!!! "To die for" is all I can say about that. I would highly recommend staying there as you are only minutes from Banff.

"great location"
It's really nice hotel in Banff, a great location and so nice for staff, it's a little bit not good at parking lot.
"Irwin's Mountain Inn, Banff, Alberta"
Room was clean but on the smallish side. The air conditioner was noisy so just turned it off & opened the window for fresh Rocky Mountain air. Same as other reviewers, parking is a problem if this hotel is heavily booked, especially for overheight vehicles (over 6'). A pleasant surprise was the restaurant inside the hotel, which served very good food […] at a reasonably price. The hot tub fits 2 people. All-in-all, reasonable value for Banff in the middle of summer. Read more
"Mice!"
We checked in and immediately cancelled our two night reservation. The hallways had stained carpet, the room had stained carpet, the room layout was bizarre--the bathroom sink was in the bedroom area, AND THEN WORST OF ALL, MY WIFE SPOTS A MOUSE IN THE ROOM. We immediately cancelled our reservation.
"Irwins inn banff"
The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very pleasant, but the room which I booked for 6 people was small and very dated in need of some renovation.
"Nice Hotel"
Friendly staff, close to resturants, within walking distance to attraction like Tunnel Mountain, and Bow River Bridge. Overheard door lock wasn't working. My bathroom door was kind of sticky.
"Irwin's Mountain Inn"
Great location! Cost great for location, comfort of the room and service. Restaurant connected and parking both underground and behind the hotel. Easy to find!

"This hotel is okay"
This hotel is okay, location was good, comes with free internet and parting. The wash sink is outside the restroom, which is interesting. The toilet probably needs some maintenance. Front desk was not very helpful when ask for suggestions.

Our first impression of our room was not good because the first thing we saw was the window coverings, which were in bad condition. If those and the bedspreads were replaced it really wouldn't have been bad at all. The sheets and bathrooms were clean and the furniture was fine.
"not taking care of business"
reception staff were deplorable, rooms are crammed with old, throw-together furnishings, desk without chair, AC that was jammed to blow strongly in faces of those sleeping, underground parking, a couple of blocks from downtown core.

"Great if you're on a budget"
We enjoyed our stay at Irwin's. Our room was larger than we anticipated (we booked a deluxe suite, I think it was called - it didn't have separate rooms, but there was plenty of space and two beds). Nice big flat-screen TV on the wall, good bathroom, nice sink, counter, fridge, microwave, etc. Little patio was cute, and windows that open are awesome. […] Our room faced the back...nice view of mountains. Beds were very comfy and linens were clean and soft. This was a good room for us to be able to move around (we had our little 15 month-old daughter with us), but I think next time I'm going to try to get a room that has a separate bedroom. I would stay here again. :) Now for some criticism: -This place should serve a free breakfast -El Toro (the restaurant in the hotel) was terrible. Don't go there...at least not for dinner. I was very disappointed with the food. -Housekeeping was generally good (and the staff were very punctual and friendly!), but there were some carpet stains as well as leftover food under one of the chairs. Not great when you have a toddler. -It would be nice to have a pool to relax in! Overall, I would recommend this place and plan to return, as long as I can get a good deal for our family again. "nice place"
I thought that the room was nice, extra pillow and blanket in the room was quite handy. The internet site said that they had a sauna and a steam room, but steam room was gone and the sauna did not work, hot tub was fine though. The room was very hot at night even though we turned the heat completely off. Outside temps were in the 20's but we slept without […] our blankets both nights. The room came with a breakfast that was okay but you get to eat in the hotel restaurant and that was a very nice way to start our day. Location is wonderful, walking distance to many restaurants and there were buses to take you to skiing. Overall I was pleased with both hotel and staff and would stay again. Read more
"Considering the area, good value"
Great location. Was able to walk to all areas of the tyown's core area.
"Good location"
Enjoyable place to stay-very near main shopping on Banff Ave. Easy parking, comfortable beds and nice staff. Only suggestions would be a mini-fridge in the room and more variety with the contential breakfast.
"ski"
i was fortunate to have been assigned avery pleasant room in the back of the hotel. It for avery pleasany stay.
"Great stay during a great weekend!!"
This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel... and it won't be the last. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were very impressed.
The noise carries in this hotel. We could hear every door open, every footstep and especially the maid cart with the squeaky wheels!!

"OK stay at Irwin's Mountain Inn"
My family stayed here for one night in February. The hotel location is pretty good as it is within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. The parking was a bit of a pain as their underground parking entrance is good only if your car is short. We have a mini van with ski racks on top (very common in Banff) and there was no way we could fit […] into the parking lot. We were informed that there was outdoor parking in the back but we had to drive around 2 blocks to get to it and there are only about 6 spots. But we managed to get one so that was lucky. The room was suppose to be no smoking but you could still smell a bit of the old stale smoke in the carpet and walls. The bathroom was small and the lighting was terrible-very dim and dark). That said, the beds seemed comfortable enough and the TV worked just fine. There is no pool but there was a hottub-very small and noisy. Didn't use it. Next time, we might try elsewhere. Read more

"Very nice hotel!!!"
We recently stayed at Irwin's Mountain Inn and we were happily surprised about the size of the room and how comfortable the hotel is. The room is very spacious and nice, beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The restaurant in the hotel (El Toro) was also excellent as far as service and quality of food is concerned. Will will most definitely […] come back to this hotel. Read more

"Irwin's Mountain Inn- Great location"
Well, we booked this hotel as they were one of the only hotel's in the city that could accomdate to sleep 6. two adults and 4 teenage girls. when we first arrived we were told there was parking in the back and there was only about 10 stalls, they had heated underground parking which was suppose to be included but was full when we got there. Trying to […] unload a van of 6 people and all the luggage when there is barley two feet between you and the car your parked beside is really hard and was not very enjoyable. The room looked very clean when we got there and the staff were very friendly, but the room was very small and had a lot of furniture cramed into it, so, to make things work for us including having to pull out the hide-a-bed, we moved some of the furniture around- when we did this we found all kinds of garbage on the floor, empty chip packages, dirty kleenex and used purse sized aprin contains. Over all the hotel was okay- we really didn't have any other options that were affordable for our group and right on the main road. So, if your not working on a tight budget such as we were for this volunteering excursion- then I would say stay somewhere that they move the furniture in the rooms to clean under them. Read more
"Convenient location"
The hotel was close to town and room was clean, had all the facililites and the bed was comfortable. We borrowed a Kettle/jug from reception. Carparking available free in underground carpark and a good hot tub. The reception staff were a little casual and lacked finesse compared to other hotels we had stayed in recently.

"Good, but nothing special"
We stayed two nights in this hotel, and although there was nothing wrong with it, we wouldn't stay here again. The rooms were rather pedestrian, but acceptable. The location is good, within walking distance of the central town, but this could probably be said of any lodging in Banff. I would stay here again if there was no other available room in town, […] but I'm sure that there must be better options at the same price in Banff. Read more
"Irwin's Mountaint Inn - horrible beds"
The facility was adequate, we stayed in a family room with two double beds. The mattress were extremely uncomfortable - one of the worst beds I have ever attempted to sleep in. If sleep is important - then aviod this place.

"Close to the shops"
Check in took a while because they only had 1 person working but the rooms are clean. They have limited underground parking so it's first come first serve as well the hot tub closes at 9pm which is disappointing. The rooms are clean and comfortable and it's very close to the Banff shops. Over all not a bad place to stay.
"Great location and good service"
Stayed for a night at Irwin's Mt Inn. The cleanliness of the room was good and the service staff was excellent. One of the best thing abt the place is its locality. Just outside the busy stretches of the town and also gives you a quick access to highway from rear car park exit.
"Irwin's Inn in Banff ,AB"
To our pleasant surprise our room had a fridge and parking behind the building. This parking was adjacent to our room.

"Irwin's Mountain Inn"
Not a bad place at all. El-Toro restaurant is quite good, however the desk clerks neglected to tell us on check in that hotel guests receive a 10% discount on dinner at the restaurant - kind of bothered me as it was a $95 meal. Underground parking is a treat although space is very limited, as is the parking lot in the back. Hotel is not too far from […] downtown, easy walking distance to shops. For longer trips you might want to drive or taxi to the Gondola and Hot Springs pool - both are a must if you haven't seen them. Read more

"Irwin's Mountain Hotel quick review"
My fiance and I stayed at Irwin's Mountain Hotel for a total of 3 nights. Our first impression of the room was tidy and was fairly clean when first entered. The kingsize bed was pretty comfortable and flat screen TV was nice but it didn't matter because there are no HD channels. The bathroom looked outdated and the toilet was lower than normal. As for […] the shower, hot water and water pressure wasn't an issue at all. After our first night, we realized that the walls are actually quite thin which meant any talking level noise and above from the hallway or adjacent room can be clearly heard. My only real gripe about the room is there wasn't enough electrical outlets to plug in my laptop, cell phone and camera charger. The location was very convenient which was only a 5 min walking distance to main strip where all the shops and restaurants were. Overall, the hotel had good customer service and included all the amenities needed for our stay at a reasonable price. Read more
Great location. Rooms are very clean. Hot tub area could be cleaner.
