We stayed from May 3 - 5. Upon arrival we were greeted by Wilbert who took our bags to the reception desk. The staff was very friendlly and gave us a welcome drink. Housekeeper Maria kept our room cleaned and stocked with all necessities The hotel was easily accessible to public transportation, Castries, Gros Inlet and restaurants. We used mostly public […] transportation. We ate local food at the Lime and had local breakfast at Ritual Coffee shop. They have other American fast food eateries also bars. "Exactly as described on the web"
We chose this hotel because of its location in Phillipsburg. It is right on the beach and has an arrangement with the "beach boys" for chairs and umbrellas. The beach is beautiful, with clean water and no waves. The hotel itself is very basic. It is clean, though they were in the process of renovating and there was construction noise and the smell of […] paint. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is on the main street and there is difficulty in parking for taxis which bring you into town. The breakfast was cheap and very good. the best pancakes we had in the Caribbean. They just put in cable t.v., though the connecting wires were loose and the signal kept going out. There are none of the amenities of usual Expedia hotels like a hairdryer or shampoo. You must climb up one floor from the street to the lobby which is difficult if you have heavy or many bags. Needless to say, no bell boy, but the staff helped. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Gem in the Caribbean!"
The worst part of St. Lucia was leaving. My husband and I spent four days there and will never forget this gem in the Caribbean. St. Lucians are amazing people and really accomodating. A couple of things for your information: the drive from the airport is 1.5 hours, on the most windy roads you will every ride on, but is really worth it because you get […] to see most of the west coast - spectacular views! If you are lucky enough to get a driver like ours, he will be able to teach you so much about the country. The cost for the ride is approx $85 US dollars. The hotel at first glance is not that impressive, but once you see the beach, you fall in love. It really is beautiful. The sand is soft and the water is clean and inviting. the hotel is really well kept and you really are able to see every part of it - small enough, yet comfortable. For breakfast do not order the buffet, it will cost you approx $60 without tip - order a la carte - approx $25! We learned the hard way! You must eat in Spinnakers - the grilled fish is awesome! the goat cheese salad is delicious! Awesome food. Be sure to go for happy hour at 5:30. The beach vendors are great and not annoying at all. They actually made our stay even greater because they are willing to get you anything you desire - fresh coconuts, fruits, souveniers, etc.. I really can't say enough about this place. Enjoy your vacation - St. Lucia is amazing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Why Stay Anywhere Else?"
BGBR is right on the beach and has a beautiful pool as well. The staff is friendly and the grounds are immaculate. The location is excellent and as you can walk to plenty of restaurants, a brand new shopping mall and even the island's only casino, you don't need a car once you get there. Both our bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious and there […] was even an umbrella in the closet just in case (we didn't need it). BGBR was exactly what I wanted for our first trip to St. Lucia. I did drive around the island but didn't see any hotel that I liked better, so I won't bother looking for another hotel for our next trip to St. Lucia. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very impressed and will go back, the service can't be beat."
Didn't know what to expect since I've never been to St. Lucia, did not know anyonre who had been there. I read the reviews from other hotels, and was not too impressed. I needed one that actually wasbeach front on level ground, I and my 83 year old mother are both handicaped. Most hotels say they're on the beach however you take a bus or be driven down […] cliffs to get there. Their pictures make their beaches look like they are right in front on level ground, not the case with Bay Gardens Beach Resort, it's trulely on the beach. The room very clean, they kept it that way.Never had to asked for anything. Food at their 2 resturants on site can not be beat for the price & quality, which here in Maryland I could never get such a good meal (fresh, cooked to order, and willing to do anything you wish). The price seems high however, the menues are in EC's currency not US $, so don't be as shocked as I was when you receive the bill, the bill also shows US $ amount, then you will laugh, and see that it was extremely well priced for the quaility. However, if staying in the Castries area you definently have to use Castries airport, it's2 hrs from the south side airport, 27 miles away, through hills&curves like you have never experienced before. The only bad part American Airlines which I bought through Expedia, they changed my departing flight 2 weeks before my trip, and I lost a full day on the island, and had to spend it waiting 8 hours in San Juan airport, and AA did not care. "Lovely beach and setting"
Position couldnt be better, lovely beach overlooking Pigeon Island. Small hotel - less than 100 rooms - meant beach and facilities were never crowded. Entertainment finished before 10pm so minimal disturbance. Excellent value bar/restaurant just along the beach open all day. If you want to see the Pitons/volcano/botanical gardens probably better to […] take a guided trip rather than drive yourself. Only downside is long trip (1hr 40) to and from airport. "Hotel in great location"
This hotel was right on the beach, had a good pool and was only 10 minutes walk into the centre where all the shops were. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. We complained twice that our shower was hardly ever even warm and most times it only trickled. They smiled sympathetically and shrugged, it seems that there was nothing to be done. […] They said they'd get the maintenance man to take a look but, if this was done, it made no difference. We only had one breakfast and one dinner in the restaurant but thereafter we found better restaurants close by that provided better food much cheaper. We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was fine, but not great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic location and price but awful beds"
Hotel is in an excellent location in Rodney Bay. Rooms sizes are good but the room we stayed in (414) had the most uncomfortable beds we'd ever slept in. Every day I woke with back ache! There were a few other niggles that management should really sort out - cracked sink, no toothbrush mug, a safe that had to be fixed twice and no thermostat on the […] shower (so you are suddenly blasted with cold water mid-shower). Otherwise it was a good place for the price. The hotel has a beach bar and a restaurant. The beach bar (High Tide) is good for sun downers but the lunch I had one day (chicken Caesar salad) wasn't great. Trios, the on site restaurant, should be avoided at all cost. It is expensive, has no atmosphere and the food was horrible. The tables over look a car park or the road (a bit of a shame for a beach resort hotel) and the monkfish risotto was utterly dreadful (risotto was dry and monkfish was watery) and the BBQ ribs were smothered in BBQ sauce not cooked on a BBQ . All the tourist restaurants in the area are expensive but the best we ate at was Jacques which is over the road (on left) from this hotel (lovely waterfront location). Otherwise a very cheap BBQ dinner with the locals at the Hairy Clam (follow signs for Pizza Pizza) is highly recommended. All in all a great holiday at a fabulous beach - just wish the beds were more comfortable. Tip - taxis and trips are very expensive. If you don't have transfers included think about booking a car. Response by Bay Gardens Beach Resort It is very unfortunate to hear that you experienced such discomfort during your stay. We wish that we could have gotten the opportunity to fix this issue during your stay to stop it from putting a damper on your experience. We spent 4 very enjoyable nights at the hotel which is ideally situated right on the beach. We had a beach front room and almost fell out of the door onto the beach and the sea. "Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada"
There was 4 of us on our trip. There was a mix up with our rooms, but the hotel staff was great in giving us options for new rooms. The hotel was full from what we were told, but you would never know it, it was quite quiet. It was mostly couples and families. We choose to have a kitchnette and pick up our own groceries up the road from the 2 grocery […] stores. There was great restaurants to choose from along Rodney Bay. This hotel is right on the beach with access to watersports. We did choose to eat at Trios at the hotel, this was by far the restaurant we enjoyed least. It was expensive, with small portions and the service was VERY slow. We also choose to take the ferry over to Martinique, this is not for everyone. It was $150 US per person and about a 2 hour catamaran ride. It was a beautiful day but once you were out on the open water it was so rough that everyone was getting sick all the way there and back. If we had known that we may not have choosen to do that activity. Overall we quite enjoyed our stay, St.Lucia was expensive, the hotel was great, we got a great deal on it and we would recommend it to anyone that was going. It is located at the end of Rodney Bay and this is a tourist area. If you are looking for more of a local experience you may want to stay off the beaten track. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay."
Great hotel, well located with excellent beach. Service from staff was pleasant and efficient throughout our stay. Very few negatives - only issue was the absence of adequate areas of shade around the pool and enough sun loungers. Not helped by the towels down at dawn syndrome, despite the signs asking guests to refrain from doing this! However, the […] close proximety of the beach made this less of an issue for us... "Bay Gardens Beach Resort - a hotel to relax"
It is a very beautiful hotel at the beach. The rooms / suites are located in a number of small, 3-story buildings. Our beachfront room was very spacious with a balcony and a beautiful view of the bay and the beach (ground floor has garden view). Very friendly and helpful frontdesk that arranged an island tour with a known taxi driver. The location of […] the hotel at the end of a headland is somewhat distant from the center of the village but there is an hourly shuttle service to two related hotels located in/near the center. The staff at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort were outstanding! They went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met and that we were familiar with the resort and the Island. I loved that there were electrical outlets in the room that accommodated both European and North American guests. Umbrellas were also provided tough not needed! Also the resort […] was by far one of the best location wise. Not only did it have it's own beach, but it was close to restaurants and the city center. Also it was only a short walk to catch the city bus into Castries. The only downside was the wifi was not available in the rooms. One had to be closer to the reception or pool areas to get a signal. "First time to the Caribbean...definitely won't be our last!"
11/23/14 Shalini K London, United Kingdom
We stayed at the Bay Garden Beach Resort in mid-September, so whilst our review is a little late, we have definitely not forgotten our stay. The resort was absolutely brilliant – with stunning views, excellent staff and unforgettable food. Our room was big, beautiful and impeccably cleaned each day. The staff made our stay at the resort very comfortable with their humour, tips about what to do and extremely welcoming nature. We would definitely recommend the hotel restaurant – the chef’s talent and creativity shows in every meal that we had at the restaurant (I recommend the Mahi Mahi!). There is plenty to do at the resort – such as relaxing in the pool or jacuzzi, water sports, water taxis to Pidgeon Island, the hotel excursion desks, shopping mall and restaurants nearby – or even using their gym. We stayed in the hotel for 10 wonderful nights, each week there was a manager’s cocktail night – which was a chance to meet and greet staff and management with complimentary canapés and rum punch. There was a real family feel between the staff and we even spoke at great length with the son of the original owners who built the Bay Garden Beach Resort, Hotel and Inn. He explained their plans for the future which were very exciting and adventurous. The most amazing part of our stay (and also the saddest) was on the day that we left. We found out in the morning that our flight had been delayed till midnight. The front desk staff were extremely sympathetic, kept us up-to-date with the new flight and transfer details – and even let us stay in the room for as long as we needed, which ended up being more than 7 hours after our original checkout time. We cannot thank the resort staff for their kindness and for accommodating us without charge. We will definitely be returning again and have also recommended the resort to our families and friends. What a lovely hotel with staff who strive to make your holiday memorable. A great beach front location with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Try Spinnakers for lunch 2 minutes walk along the beach from the hotel. They change the menu daily and you can always get a seat (even when the cruise ships are in). A must is Flavours of the Grill in Gros Islet the very best lobsters on the Island at the best prices. Fantastic locally cooked food! For an evening drink try the Q Bar they play good jazz music and Chris and Camilla look after you. If your lucky you might be able to hear and see Boo who is a fantastic guitar player who is very much like George Benson. He sometimes plays in The Big Chef on a Saturday evening...this is another excellent restaurant. A great holiday on a lovely island.
"Best vacation spot ever!"

We stayed at this resort for two weeks in a two bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo. Very friendly and accommodating staff in a small intimate resort atmosphere. The pool was circular so lap swimming was a breeze in the morning. The beach was beautiful and great for walking, swimming, and water sports. Non motorized items are complimentary. Fun to standup paddle board, kayak and hobie cat sail daily. There is a small local boat that comes by every day with all the fruits and vegetables you need for your stay. They are fresh and yummy! The beach vendor, Liz , has the best Rotis for lunch and special fruit sponge cakes baked daily. Suggest hiring the water taxi from Water Sports to go to the volcanoes, mud baths, water falls, snorkeling and lunch in Soufriere. The boat only holds 8 guests so it is intimate and fun. See Dominick or Andre at the Water Sports hut for more details. Dexter was a great captain. Suggest going on a non cruise ship day when there are no crowds at the sights. Many good restaurants nearby. 15 minute walk to mall for groceries and shopping and more restaurants or take the complimentary shuttle which runs every hour. There is a tour of Castries every Saturday and Wednesday from the hotel. Richard Stevens is the guide and he is also a taxi driver who is very knowledgeable. Suggest using him throughout your stay to and from the airport and whenever a taxi is needed. He was great! The airport is 1 1/2 hours away but the drive is through the rainforest and down the East Coast making the trip interesting. Also Richard will give you all the historical facts to and from the airport. If Richard is not available, Stan, Richard's friend, is a great tour guide and taxi driver also. We would definitely stay in this resort again when we return to St. Lucia.

Simply put: a great place with excellent service from everyone at the resort. The staff at the check-in desk greeted us as if we were expected and special. Seeing we were a bit haggered from the flight all day, we were immediately provided a cup of cold rum punch each. That began a week long vacation that could not have been better. Everyone at the resort was professional, friendly and helpful - from the wait staff at the restaurants to the housekeeping staff that maintained our room beautifully to the grounds staff who maintained a beautifully designed atmosphere. 20 minutes, twice a day for a week in the large hot tub after endless hours in both the beach and pool, did wonders. 'Beatrice', the young lady stationed at the activities desk, helped us choose a day-long catamaran trip with Endless Summer cruises. She was spot on - a great day on the water and stops along the way that were informative and worth our time and energy - especially the snorkeling near the end of the day. True, not everything at the resort was 100%, but at 98%, we would definitely stay here again. Improvements that could be addressed include (1) we took our dirty clothes home with us since the cost of the small washer and dryer located in a couple of the buildings, was unnecessarily steep at $27EC for one wash load. (2) the kitchen equipment should have included pot holders to get items out of the oven; a strainer for pasta, etc.; (3) a cutting board to slice meats & vegetables instead of using and damaging the counter top; (4) a kitchen towel to use instead of or in addition to the paper towels provided that fell apart at the sight of water. We needed each of these items during our stay since we cooked some of our meals - we could not have been the only ones who would find them useful in a 'fully equipped' kitchen. Most of the time we let the restaurant staff do the cooking and preparing (and they did it very well), but if you provide a kitchen, well at least provide all the essentials. Bottom line though, the resort is kept up very nicely and everyone - that's everyone - did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Definitely recommended - Joyce Destang, the owner and managing director, should be proud of the staff operating this property and of course, the resort itself.

Not too big, not too small. Perfectly placed on Reduit Beach with a lovely pool and great staff. If their restaurant is too expensive, you can find numerous places to eat nearby and its just a short-ish walk to the village where there is lots of choice for eating, drinking and spending. Would recommend without hesitation.

Last week, my husband and I stayed at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and had an AMAZING vacation! The staff went above and beyond the call of duty and truly made our stay an experience we will never forget. We could not have asked for anything more. Valdonna, Nal, Garvin, Vaughn, Mikey "Chris Rock", Kerry, Jayah, Jimmy, Marvin, Bradley, Simon, Aaron, Francis, Sheridan, and Kevin provided royal treatment as well as becoming friends. We also want to mention the entire housekeeping, kitchen, food and service, maintenance and security staff that work extremely hard every day to keep the resort clean and inviting. Food was outstanding with a variety of choices for every meal. Beach and pool were spotless with many water sport activities available. Everyone was friendly and upbeat no matter what kind of day they were having. To summarize, we dedicate the song "Everything is Awesome" - dance it out Nal! Your Friends - Lance and Renee
"Be sure to check out the sunset"

We recently stayed at the Bay Gardens Beach RESORT. The property is located right on the beach. The entire grounds are very well maintained, and they have a nice pool. It is a 15 minute walk into Rodney Bay Village, where there are restaurants and grocery stores. We didn't get the all inclusive package, as we wanted to try different restaurants. Our room was large and clean. The Bay Gardens has 3 properties.....the Resort, the Hotel and the Inn. Only the Resort is on the beach. The Hotel and Inn are not on the beach. Be careful to select the Resort when booking, if you want direct access to the beach. They have a free shuttle that runs between the 3 properties. There was a neighbouring bar, across the street to the north. It was rather noisy until around 2am every night. Ask for a room that is away from the street. The beach is beautiful, with clear water and clean sand. There are local vendors on the beach. They are not aggressive, but multiple vendors approach you everyday that you are on the beach. There were a few families with children staying here, but not many. It was mostly couples and groups of friends travelling together. Be sure to check out the sunset.
