When we arrived it took a long time to get checked in as check in time is 3pm and even though the staff made noises about getting us an earlier chech in it didnt happen until after 3pm I booked a fountain view room and when we got to the room we found it was a fountain view but 2 trees obscured the view (if you want a fountain view dont let them book […] you on to the second floor as the trees are in the way) After complaining about the view we were moved to the third floor which had a clear view of the fountain even though you could only see about one third of it When we were going to move to the upstairs room we were kept hanging around waiting for the new room to be cleaned we were told it would be ready at 4pm then at 5 then at 6 I think we finally moved at 6.30pm it seemed to be that the staff told you what they thought you wanted to hear not the correct information so you couldnt plan your day properly We were there for new years eve and it was impossible to get a dinner reservation in the hotel as all paces had been sold out at exorbitant prices and they were packing people in everywhere When I called for a dinner reservation I was advised to have dinner in our room as no place had been reserved for hotel residants If you are going to stay at the palace and want to see the fountain you are better to go up to the 4th floor viewing balcony and view the hole fountain from there rather than pay the extra for a fountain view room and only see a third of it Read more

The Palace is an outstanding hotel on so many levels: it's beautifully designed in a more traditional style which we loved. Some of the hotels in Dubai that we saw were so modern as to be soulless. Beautiful hotel in Arabic style within walking distance to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Excellent Thai restaurant on site. Spacious room with lake view. Be sure to book this room style, but ask ahead for the fountains view, the fountains are the water show of the Burj complex done nightly every half hour from 6pm to 11pm.Highly recommended.

The Palace Hotel in Old Town was one of the best hotel experiences I have had, and having worked for National Geographic for years, that's saying a lot! Staying at this hotel is very nice experience. The style of the hotel is exceptional. The only thing I didn't like is the prices of the food and SPA at the hotels. The price of 7 up can is 25 derham. I think I will stay again at this hotel with out eating there.

From the First impression,it was so good cause buildings were similar to traditional Arab house. Interior design and floor plan was also my type including veranda with excellent lake view. Staffs were all very kind. Only one thing I experienced discomfort was slow drain of shower room and tough switch handle from tap to shower.

The Palace The Old Town was fantastic! The food to the service to the accommodations were unmatched. It's close to restaurants, shopping and great views of the Burj Califa. We had a driver from the hotel take us across town when we wanted to sight see and the experience is first class all the way.

We arrived at 7pm. It took us over 45 minutes to check in. They upgraded my room which was an upgrade to make up for the tardiness, the suite was dirty. The bathrooms were messy with dirty robes. I complained to reception, they promissed to clean but I had to run out for business dinner. Unfortunately, after 4 hour dinner, the room was still messy, […] no one cleaned anything and the TV did not work. I called again and they asked if they can send house keeping, butit was almost 1am and I needed to wake up early for meetings and check out. I complained to management which offered an upgrade for next trip. I was actually booked to return for two nights with several coleagues within 10 days fom March's stay. Hotel had fantastic services and rooms were great but some of the staff were very rude. Like any hotel this can just be an off occasion but happened a few times in the bar and services was always slow and not what i would expect from a 5 star hotel. From the moment I stepped into the hotel I was smiling. Staff were exceptionallu attentive and friendly. The hotel is right next to the massive Dubai Mall which makes it extremely convenient, particularly for eating and shopping. It is also partly surrounded by an enormous man-made lake. The beds are amazingly comfortable with highest quality natural fibre bedding and goose down toppers on the matress which are like sleeping on clouds. I have never slept so well in a hotel before. For my budget it was a lot of money but I thought it was worth every single penny. Unlike many hotels that squeeze every extra pound from their guests this hotel provided complimentary wifi within the price and breakfast - which was an absolute feast. Our room was large and well appointed with a massive and comfortable bed. The balcony overlooking the Burj lake (we could just about see the Burj Khalifa) was perfect for morning tea. The hotel offers a great pool, separate bar and two good restaurants as well as a pleasant lobby lounge. We had food or drinks from each outlet and the quality and range […] was good. The only drawback was the slow service over dinner on both nights. Service at the pool and in the lobby lounge was much better. In the restaurant 'Asado' the waiters always seemed to be in a hurry, zipping past my chair, yet it was difficult to summon the waiters when we needed them. At 'Thiptara' the service was painfully slow and every member of staff that served us was aware of it and apologised. Eventually it gets tiresome and you just want to finish the meal and escape. A table on the patio overlooking the Burj fountains makes it a memorable evening but the service was a let down. There are plenty of other restaurant options within walking distance (some with alcohol licenses) and the Dubai Mall is just a 5 minute walk away through an air conditioned souk. Read more

Fantastic hotel. Able to check in when e arrived at 7.00 am. The only thing that was a bit strange was that there was no one outside the hotel to receive our luggage or say hello.
