Clean room, the room was a little small but the location is great, 5 minute walk from Rambla and close to many good eateries. Very clean bathroom/shower, extremely friendly staff.

My first room, which was non-smoking, wreaked of smoke. I asked for another and was granted my request, although it also smelled slightly of smoke. The hot water also didn't work in the shower.

Between the paperthin walls, poor room service/cleaning, and unprofessional staff, this hotel was very disappointing. Two out of the four days of my stay, my room was not cleaned by room service, and rather than correct the problem, the front desk just made excuses or tried to blame it on miscommunication between the staff members. Terrific location but the rooms are very minimal (there is no art on the walls) and there is no carpeting on the floors so you can hear everything, though it was a relatively quiet place so not that big of a deal. Centrally located, supermarket next door. Close to buses and metro, able to walk to Plaza Catalunya. Breakfast OK. The people at the reception desk, very exceptional. Helpful with restaurant tips, which metro to take, etc. The day before we left we asked to get us a taxi for 5 am and it was there before 5. Overall, a good stay.

The hotel rooms are very basic but clean and tidy. Walls are thin as many other reviewers have pointed out so do't be surprised if you hear conversations through the wall. Good location though and right next the the subway which was handy. My main issue was with the service. I stayed a week and did not get a smile or good morning etc from any of the […] reception staff. the only person in the whole hotel who seemed to actually remember that they work in the service/hospitality industry was the dining room attendant. Given this hotel is in a busy tourist area it would also make sense if it were at have at least ONE English TV channel via cable. My favourite story is coming home one night I only had 50 euros and the taxi driver did not have change. So I came in to ask reception to ask for change for the taxi. The person behind the desk came up with some ridiculous story that my 50 euro note was counterfeit and he would not change it (I had of course gotten the note straight out of the ATM and it was gladly accepted at a supermarket in the morning). As such I had to leave the taxi driver waiting whilst i ran up to my room to try and find loose change to pay him. Even in bad hotels the service can make it a great experience. Very poor service and an avergae hotel make this one place I won't be recommending to friends. Read more

Me and my wife stayed 5 nights in Del Comte. Location was excellent, 15 minutes to La Rambla, good restaurants and cafes only few minutes from hotel. Metro was only one block from the hotel. Room was very small. Smaller than I have ever met before . Bed was hard but we still slept well. Room was cleaned every day so everything was clean. The Del Comte is in a good location for getting around Barcelona. The hotel is basic, no frills, but our room and bathroom was clean and serviced daily. Staff on the front desk were polite but nothing more. Many others have noted the quality of this hotel compared to it's star rating. This is because it is a 3-star hotel, and you basically get 3-star service. Clean, neat, new but very warm. Fine if you like warm weather like me, but avoid if you can't sleep when it's 20C+ all night in your room. Air-con does not exist, as also noted by others.

Just walk one corner, you will see the hotel to the nearest subway station Urgell. The hotel is located at pretty much the centre of Barcelona with easy subway access to all major attractions.
