We had a wonderful stay at the Rusheen Lodge on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Karen ws very helpful and cooks up a delicious breakfast. The Burren Suite was large enough for four adults and included a sitting area that was quite comfortable. Enjoyed it very much.

The Twelve Hotel has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is in a lovely area right on the beach - a great area for walking. The hotel staff were very friendly, efficient and responsive to whatever your needs are. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean, well stocked with a welcome treat upon check in, tea/coffee supplies, wine glasses, etc. Both casual and fine dining options, live entertainment in the evening. We would definitely go back or recommend this hotel to friends. The only drawback for some people might be that it is about 10 minutes drive from Galway.

Location is ideal. Parking is free which is nice and the complimentary breakfast was good. However, the hotel is lacking. The room is in need of some serious updating and TLC, the bed is brutally uncomfortable, a refresher is definitely in order. This was just what we were looking for. It was a short walk from the downtown area with out the high price. The room was plenty large and generally comfortable. There was parking in a garage with a lift to the lobby area. They even let us leave the car there after checking out while we got some food and did some shopping. "Irish Music in the Hotel Bar"
The hotel was ok--on a busy street but near the bus and train stations and easy walking dfistance to the historic part of town. Wifi signal was very weak in my room. Good breakfasts. But the best part was the Thursday night Irish music jam in the hotel bar--best, most authentic music I heard in Ireland.

We had a great 2 night stay here in late August. The service was always friendly, our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, we were able to park our car onsite in the garage, and we were a very short walking distance to the main downtown of Galway. Breakfast was not terribly exciting but was adequate enough and very convenient. We were very happy […] to stay here as a base to travel both South (to the Cliffs of Moher) and North (to Cong and a drive along the coastline) and Galway provided us with endless Irish bar and music entertainment. Adorable little place with a homey feel. Had 4 to our room & it was very spacious! Staff was friendly & we enjoyed the simple breakfast buffet. Very pleased.

People were very nice and tried hard to do a good job. Although billed as non smoking hotel, cigarette burns in the tv and table top and stale cigarette smell took away from the bland interior. The Western Hotel in Galway City if an older hotel that met all our needs. It is in a good location and the breakfast was tasty, with quality service. I would recommend this hotel.
"Good hotel/location"
It's a 5 min walk from the Train Station; 2 min walk to Eyer SQ; and 5 min walk to the bars. We got a room for 4 people and had plenty of space. The only drawback was that the room smelled though like cigarettes and there were cigarette butts sitting on the edge of the window.

The Western Hotel was a treat. We had been driving around Ireland and got the Galway. The Hotel was our best stay from the reception, the room, the evening meal and breakfast in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

We booked 2 rooms for 7 people, and I was very happy with the size of the rooms we had. The food in the hotel restaurant was fabulous and the bar was lovely and homely. Couldnt recommend this hotel more highly. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely also. I will be returning in the future I hope.

We arrived on Friday 13th. Jan. p.m. and departed Saturday 14th .a.m. after. 1 night b & b + dinner. The photos of the Hotel certainly shows it in a much better light than what we experienced.We found it dark,cold and depressing and crampted. It is completely surrounded and in a very built up area.The central heating boiler was not working therefore […] we had no heat until later in the night when a staff member-waiter,bar man and boiler repair man had a go at the boiler and got it working fair play to him. The entrance to the car park under ground was a nightmare entrance around the back and down a very steep slope leading into a very confined ground car park.I was not sure how in the name of God you could get out of it if you needed to but through goood guidance from my wife I managed to the next day just barely. The dinner was o.k. but breakfast after a very long wait was poor. It is convenient to the City well located but we will not return.The bar was very quiet with no atmosphere. The receptionist was very unfriendly.The noise late att night outside the hotel bu twithin the general area and confines also was unbelievable sounded like a combination of wineos and the afters of a hen and stag parties that went on for what felt like hours well after 3.30 a.m. No sleep therefore until this time for me. "IN NEED OF REFRESHMENT"
The hotel is well located and the staff are good. However these pluses are far outweighed by the negatives, the rooms are in a very poor condition. Our room had large areas of paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling which fell in the bath. The shower curtain rail fell down numerous times and the window seals are so old it is like sleeping with the windows […] open. Enjoyed our stay at the 'Western',the hotel is in walking distance of Eyre Square and all the attractions of the very beautifull Galway City.The hotel staff were delightfull to deal with and full compliments must go to the Head Chef and his staff.On the downside the bedrooms are small and very old fashioned.They basically need a revamp including the […] bathrooms.On the night of our stay,a private party were using the function room.Much to our dismay,we witnessed a number of evictions from this party,not a pretty sight for overseas visitors to see.However we did not hear any disturbances during the night and enjoyed a good nights sleep in the very comfortable bed.No doubt we will return some time in the future,hopefully to some new decor and a less rowdy clientele in the function room. This night was extremely over priced- which means the price was well over doubled for a busy sat night in Galway in comparison to a normal night. Other guests were extremely noisey. "Western Hotel - A Pleasant Experience"
The Western Hotel is very close to Galway Centre. The best shops, pubs and eating establishments are all within a few minutes walk. Despite being close to the city centre, the Western doesn't suffer any outside noise disturbance. Our room was situated at the rear of the hotel and looked out over a nice tidy courtyard. The room had a comfortable bed, […] and large bath/shower in a clean bathroom. We were offered a good choice of breakfast options including a decent vegetarian option, all included in the price. The underground car park was a major selling point when we booked at the Western and we noted that it seemed to be safely monitored 24/7 by CCTV. All staff were polite and efficient, not that we needed to call on them for anything as there were no problems at all during our stay. el hotel bien, aunque con el frio que hacia la habitacion no era nada calentita. Por suerte nos dieron una triple y pusimos las mantas de la cama sobrante en la nuestra. En general esta bien para pasar una noche si no tienes problemas con la calefaccion.
