The hotel has two parts. We stayed in the newer part and the room was very small. There was no place to sit other than the bed or a small desk chair. When I tried to turn on the desk light I discovered there was no working outlet there, and the only other lights were sconces next to the bed. Our traveling companion had a single room in the old part […] which was nicer than ours, with a full sized shower. We had to close the bathroom door to get to the toilet and there was a small corner shower. The breakfast rooms were pleasant and there was a full breakfast but what upset me most was that they served instant coffee! We never felt like we were in a four star hotel. As I has booked a 4 star hotel, I was expecting to have a decent sized room, with nice fixtures and fittings and wifi. What I got instead was a small twin room, with out dated decor and a pokey bathroom (with a shower that made you choose between being frozen or scalded). Hotel is ok. Was lured in with the 4 stars nd a reasonble price. Well the location is a bit out of the way. The hotel is clean fairly well appointed but our trip in beginning of may the airconditioning was not available and it was pretty hot already then. Das Hotel Villa Torlonia befindet sich zwar nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe zu den römischen Sehenswürdigkeiten, ist aber über die Metro Station "Policlinico" (etwa 5 Minuten entspannter Fußweg) super an den Hauptbahnhof Termini (2 Stationen) angeschlossen. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten lassen sich so über Metro, Tram und Busse schnell erreichen. Apotheke, Supermärkte […] und diverse Restaurants sind im näheren Umkreis - die Umgebung wirkte angenehm und sicher. Trotz der Nähe zum Klinikum war es während unseres Aufenthalts sehr ruhig. Außer leisen Straßengeräuschen drang nur wenig zu uns. Die Zimmer selbst sind zwar nicht übermäßig groß, aber nett eingerichtet und sauber (Täglicher Zimmerservice, Pluspunkt: Klimanalage, Minuspunkt: leider etwas hellhörig). Die Rezeption ist rund um die Uhr besetzt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr umfangreich - allerdings etwas "süßigkeitenlastig". Neben diversen frischgebackenen Kuchen und verschiedenen süßen Croissants gab es immer Toast, Baguette, abgepacktes Vollkornbrot, Käse, Schinken und / oder Mortadella, gekochte Eier, Marmeladen, Nutella und Honig. Alternativ gab es Müsli, Cornflakes u.ä. mit Dosenobst, zwei Sorten Joghurt oder Milch. Frisches Obst, Tomaten, manchmal Rühreier gab es auch - allerdings eher für Frühaufsteher. Dazu gab es Säfte, Wasser, Filterkaffee oder Tees - italienische Kaffeespezialitäten konnten bei den stets präsenten Bedienungen (anscheindend) kostenlos bestellt werden. nach drei Jahren zum zweiten mal im Torlonia. Reception hilfsbereit. Zimmer sehr sauber. Das Frühstück eben 'italienisch'... perfekt sind die Haltestellen für Bus und Bahn in unmittelbarer Nähe... dazu noch das Limonaia und die Eisdiele auf dem Spaziergang für 's Dolce danach...alles in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Entspricht in den subjektiven Kriterien max einem 3 Sterne Hotel (auch wenn die Landes-Kategorie 4 Sterne vorsieht), Empfang mäßig freundlich und gar nicht bemüht, Frühstücksbuffets in Italien sind i.d.Regel immer etwas sparsamer als in vielen anderen Urlaubsländern, aber an 5 Tagen in Folge war das einzige frische Obst ein paar (leider nicht mehr ganz […] frische) Äpfel. Auf Nachfrage gab es lediglich ein Schulterzucken vom Kellner!! Dafür war der Cappuccino schon beim servieren nur noch lauwarm. Eine Bar oder ähnliches war nicht in Betrieb, sonstige Bereiche (Wellness, Fitness etc.) nicht vorhanden. Die Lage des Hotels war für unsere Zwecke o.k., wenn man Rom erleben möchte, gibt es sicher besser gelegene Hotels, besonders leise war es auch nicht. Weiterhin nicht Kinderwagen oder behindertenfreundlich da der Eingang hinter einer 5 Stufen hohen Treppe nach unten liegt. Sehr nett ist der in der Nähe liegende Park der Villa Torlonia (Namensgeber des Hotels), mit schön gelegener Gastronomie und Möglichkeit abzuspannen und die Stadt hinter sich zu lassen. Read more

This hotel leaves me with mixed emotion: 5 stars to the older gent serving breakfast (which was a good one, loved the coffee!), the room was old but clean, got new towels every day and new sheets every other day but beds were not very comfortable (we stayed for 5 nights), surroudings were safe and quite clean. But there was water dripping from the sealing […] in the toilet, hairdryer almost dropped from the wall and finally stopped working the day we left, had to ask for more toiletpaper, the room was for two but had only one glass and when asked for one more, the receptionist said he can't give us one, maybe tomorrow! Seriously, was it that difficult! And two of you really should learn some customer service skills, you were pompous and I didn't feel very welcome. Four stars?? Metrostation ligger ca. 5.min. gang. Herfra kan man nå det meste. Pas på om der ligger skjulte gebyr og skatter. Vi skulle betale 3 EUR per dag per person ekstra, selvom det ikke var til at se nogen steder da vi bestilte. Generelt kan hotellet bestemt anbefales.

Ci sono almeno 2 aspetti fondamentali dell'hotel che andrebbero rivisti:1) le mura di separazione sono sottili come sfoglie per cui si sente qualunque cosa; 2) non c'è il WIFI neanche a pagamento; inoltre il telecomando TV accende e spegne solo il decoder e la TV deve essere spenta con il tasto del televisore; infine la colazione è sufficiente ma il […] caffè è terribile (non si può preparare un caffè così brutto in ITALIA). Di positivo c'è la posizione stupenda nel quartiere nomentano vicino alle sedi delle ambasciate internazionali, a circa 250 metri dalla stazione metro B POLICLINICO; inoltre la struttura esternamente è molto gradevole e anche l'arredamento delle stanze è discreto. L'Hotel è una bellissima struttura posizionata vicino alla fermata "Policlinico" della linea B della metropolitana di Roma. Niente da dire circa la struttura e il suo personale invece le camere sono un pò piccole e l'uniche cose da evidenziare sono relative al bagno. In particolare abbiamo notato la mancanza del classico bidet (a causa delle dimensioni […] del bagno era impossibile che ci fosse infatti il bagno era fornito di un bidet-water soluzione che, a me e alla mia partner, non è piaciuta molto). Altra cosa da segnalare attenzione, se vi portate un asciugacapelli da casa, come nel mio caso visto che quello degli hotel in genere è poco potente, dovete fare i conti con la corrente della vostra camera che salta ogni 2 secondi. Hotellet ligger veldig fint til i rolig strøk i Roma, med kort vei til Metro og bare to stopp fra Termini. Rommene er imidlertid i minste laget, men rent og pent. Vi byttet hotell (planlagt på forhånd) til et annet 4-stjerners hotell i gangavstand fra Villa Torlonia. Det var flere klasser bedre, men ikke dyrere!

L'hotel, collocato in una zona residenziale molto tranquilla e vicina alla metro, rappresenta la base ideale per chi desidera visitare Roma utilizzando i mezzi pubblici. L'hotel est situe en dehors du centre historique de Rome. Une station de metro se trouve a moins de 5mn a pied de l'hotel et plusieurs lignes de bus/tramway se trouvent aux alentours. Point important, il y a un bus de nuit qui s'arrette pres de la station de metro. L'hotel est agreable dans un quartier calme et tranquille. Le personnel parle francais […] sinon anglais. Frukosten var under all kritik; juice serveras i plast muggar, ägg gröna, torrt bröd osv, personalen gömde sig i köket så för att få kaffe fick man jaga dem.. Läget är ok om man åker metron men jag hade intrycket att det låg närmre innan vi kom dit. Rummen var fräscha men inte matsalen, jag rekomnenderar inte detta boende till någon!

As expected for the price we got. Small room, not renovated for many years. Something was very wong with the bed, it was like sleeping on a spring. They might have turned the mattress upside down. Quiet area, not much to see. Just a few hundred meters to the metro wich takes you downtown in minutes.
