We loved The Palace. It was a modern, comfortable hotel in a wonderful location. The breakfast buffet is very good, and the waitstaff was always pleasant even when extremely busy and things were hectic for them. Our room was very well thought out and had everything we needed and more. My only issue is something that the hotel could not really control […] - the frequent smokers in the gorgeous rooftop pool area had smoke and ashes that would sometimes flow our way, which was extremely unpleasant as non-smokers. The noise emanating from the rooms above and/or below was sometimes intolerable and no matter how friendly and efficient the staff were in trying to help sort out the problems, chairs scraping on tiled floors and awnings banging in the wind are not acceptable for a five star hotel.

The hotel is located in convenience area. There are two supermarket and many shops for clothing. However, the room we had booked was awful and unbelievable, so we asked to change the room. I have recently returned from a stay in The Palace, Sliema, Malta with friends. The hotel had many good amenities, an excellent atmosphere and very polite staff. The breakfast was enjoyable, however the breakfast room was not the most organised. Staff did not clean up spillages on the floor, despite being told of there presence. We loved Malta and having a nice hotel to return to each day was great. The hotel staff were exceptional. A special mention to Sandro and Paul who are a credit to the hotel. The rooms are lovely and spacious. If you are wanting a lovely view you need to book 5th floor or higher. Negatives would be low water pressure (however I think that may be all […] of the island) Bathroom design lacks toilet privacy. A door all the way to the floor would be helpful. (Not a problem to others I imagine) Other than this the food was great, fabulous breakfast buffet (included) and very reasonable nightly buffet especially when they offer a 3 for 2 deal. The hotel also has 3 other restaurants /bars. The location is very good just a short walk to waterfront, shops, supermarket and bus stops. Would suggest booking the hotel taxi for arrival at 22 euro as it's much easier to find your way around once you are settled. Also the hotel is a little uphill so saves dragging the cases. Local bus pass for 12 euro (7days) is an excellant way to see the island . Also I must mention the lovely view from the pool roof top and restaurant area. It is outstasnding. The hotel was very good, the location was fine, we purchased a weekly bus ticket for 12 euros which enabled us to travel all around the island and Gozo without any problems at all. Yes would recommend this hotel. Breakfast offered lots of choices, and the quality was very good.

The rooms need better sound proofing. Someone came into a room near ours at 3.30am, turned their music on and woke us up. We could also hear everyone talking in the corridors. The indoor pool can hold a maximum of 18 but there is also an outdoor pool. The overall appearance of the hotel is superb, and the staff are very friendly.

First time to Malta so obviously first time to the Hotel. It is nicely situated towards the top of the hill where Sliema is located which makes it quiet with not a lot of traffic passing by or late night revellers. We stayed in a superior room on the 8th floor which was reasonably spacious and with a good view out over the sea. The 9th level is totally […] given over to the infinity pool and loungers with a panoramic 360 degree view which is fantastic, you can turn your head between Valletta on one side, Mdina in the distance and the sea on the other, amazing. I used the gym facilities a few times which was well laid out and with quite a few pieces of equipment. if you like your food then you probably won't go wrong with the varied 4 course buffet style restaurant with it's daily changing menu though if you did then the Asian fusion restaurant on the top floor with fab views is a must. When I head back to Malta then I would certainly return to the Palace as it is top draw. Read more

In part, this is because the area can also be used by the adjoining sister hotel (The Victoria) which is a shame. The surrounding area is best described as street-like. Great hotel in central Sliema, at most five minutes walk to either the Med coast side or the waterfont overlooking Valetta. We enjoyed our stay in room 649 at the Palace on Tuesday 3 April 2012. The room was spacious and modern, with decent air con and bathroom facilities. The bed was comfortable. Only staying for one night, we did not have time to check out the restaurants or hotel facilities. Unfortunately we had to call reception at 3am after an hour's interruption from […] the person in the room next door. This was promptly dealt with and we had a settled night thereafter. The following morning the staff informed us that there was a 'drunk Norwegian' in the room that had also caused trouble the night previously. No particular apology was made, and I felt that this could and should have been dealt with far better for a 5-star hotel, which it painstakingly points out throughout (although I'm not sure if that status has been awarded by a reputable body or not). Generally though, the noisy disruption was not the fault of the hotel, and I would be prepared to stay here again. I would perhaps try the local competition first, however. Read more

Dear Future / Potential Guest.... Overall stay was OK, just niggling issues, such as lack of towels in bathroom even when requested they didn't arrived. TV picked up limited English channels due to interference in and around hotel. Excellent Asian Restaurant on 9th Floor, would recommend. Please note...., hotel charges for bottled water 2.75€, even though its mentioned that you cannot drink the water in the room, so cannot make Tea or Coffee which is provided if you don't have water. This is slightly disappointing considering its a 5* and I suggest that water provided be free like other chains.. Supermarket called Scotts around the corner bottled water 50c - CHEAP Option. Would stay again at Hotel, staff where very polite and friendly. Please ask for room on higher floor then you get the views over the harbor. Finally if you want to go for a special meal try La Vela in Mdsina - excellent local Maltese restaurant and the owner Michelle, will go out of her way to accommodate your wishes, even giving you a lift back to the hotel price for 3 courses and two bottles of wine about 90 €uro. All the stuffs in the hotels are very kind and helpful. Negative points: 1. The bath tab seems made of plastic, you can feel that the tab bottom transforms when you step on it. Moreover, […] the flushing of toilet (even from the upstairs) is very noisy and it can wake you up in the night. No idea how the hotel design the water system. 2. There is very few choice of TV channels, which is quite rare in 5 star hotels; 3. The room/hotel instruction has almost nothing and you have to figure out things by calling the reception; 4. The airconditioning seems did not work and in the evening it was a little cold in some days (even I settled the temperature to 25 degree!). 5. The breakfast was OK but not excellent. The day we arrived, there was an assumption that my 21 year old son was my partner and staff constantly deferred to him. A rude comment was made about us not "spending much time watching TV", which I didnt hear but my son felt was quite offensive. Room service turned up each day, but might as well not have bothered. 2 days later, there was a leak in […] the bathroom next door which then resulted in a lot of noise until 6pm. This again begun as early as 8am the next day, at which time I asked to be moved. I had to go out just to get away from the noise and I had to head back to reception to insist on being moved as the repairs was still going on. We were then moved to a room on the 3rd floor, the phone didnt work, the TV remote didnt work either. The final insult was the fire alarm. This went off whilst my son was in the shower and I became quite fraustrated because he had to come out in a towel down the stairs. When we got down, I asked where people were gathered, to be told it was a test and all guests had been told the day before. Somehow they managed to miss us which meant what exactly? I have stayed at many hotels around the world, Palace Hotel is one I definitely wont be recommending anyone I know stay at. Our treatment was shabby and didnt leave much to be desired. A particular guy at the reception desk ignored me for almost 3 munutes & I had to tell him that the fact he was on the phone didnt mean he couldnt acknowledge a guest standing in front of him!
