I have stayed in this before but presently the quality has reduced. I had issues with the AC not working and there was no help. No fans were available. I could not open the doors of the balcony to sleep as I was given a room on 1st floor and hence did not feel safe doing that. I got an unsolicited call at 3am on one of the nights for a "Service Girl"....dont […] know if that was a honest mistake on the part of the recption....When I stayed here a couple years back the front desk staff was way better...I remember Carmen who used to work at the front desk to be very help ful. Clean rooms. Comfortable. Like a very small apartment. Could use a little updating. Noisy on streetside from clubs and restaurants. Very small balcony but allows you to at least open the patio doors for fresh air.

Suites del Angel is located in Reforma close to many key business and financial headquarters. My suite was spacious and well furnished. The staff were gracious. The only room issue was that the air conditioner did not work. The front desk offered to change my room, but since it was not hot I stayed. My room was on the first level overlooking the street […] and was a little noisy during rush hour and with some street vendors with megaphones in the evening. The room looked exactly as show in pictures on the internet, which is always a relief. The hotel itself is a bit tatty from the outside though - nondescript. The area is fine and seemed safe, with some shops & ATMs around, small restaurant next door with average prices and good food, 15min walk to the closest Metro stop (Insurgentes). The route to […] the Metro described the the staff was boring; I found a more interesting route on the last day, which takes you past KFC, McD, BK, Starbucks, etc. The staff were not very helpful (few spoke English). The room was fairly clean - had a strange smell coming in (spicey?). The bathroom cleanliness was average - around the edge of the in-bath shower it was a bit grimy. The bed linen was mostly clean; a couple of unwanted hairs though. The bath towels were very tatty and threadbare - this really did not look good - they were literally coming to pieces. I was on the 1st floor near the elevator (room 104), and it was noisy - both from outside, and every time the elevator moved. In-room wireless Internet was a bit slow, but it worked. I made some long-distance calls to the US, which I was not charged for - i appreciated this. No extra costs came onto the bill. All in all I would stay there again, and I would recommend it to a friend, albeit with some reservations. Read more

For nine years we went, several times a year, to this hotel-suites which was charming and well located. Last April it changed hands and everything went downhill. They closed the restaurant which was rather good and had an excellent breakfast and replaced it by a fast food franchise. The rooms embellished to look good, but now you do not have enough […] light to work and the showers do not function properly. At the front desk you waste your time inquiring how to get to the most important museums. All in all it is a great hotel with a great staff. The staff tries to accomodate your requests and tries to be courteous even when the request can not be accommdate. The hotel sufferes deeply with the internet service it advertises (Free WiFI). It is useless and does not work half the time. The full kitchen with utensils is a lie. I checked in to a […] suite and to my dismay the kitchen had 1 pan, 2 kinves and forks. I asked for a pot, cutting knife etc. They said not available and you have to buy your own. How can a kitchen be with out a cutting knife...?? I purchased all theses extra and was dissapointed by that. Taxis outside the hotel are a rip off. It is not advisible to get a taxi outside the hotel. Best is to walk to the corner and get a taxi there. If you dont speak spanish or atleast potray you are from around there, you will be ripped off in a taxi. All in all again the reception desk was helpful in the hotel and the hotel was very clean and decent. I travel to Mexico city frequently, and have stayed at 6 or 7 hotels, until I stumbled on this one. For the past three years I have never gone anywhere else. This is the best value hotel I have stayed in anywhere...the rooms are very large, full suites, with a superking sized, very comfortable bed, separate kitchen area, separate living room and bathroom […] (including a jacuzzi tub and TV in the bathroom). Free broadband, stocked fridge with beers, spirits, water etc. bathrobes and massive bathsheets.Wood floors in all bedrooms which are kept very clean. AND, just two minutes walk from the Angel of Independence...how much better placed could you get? I have stayed at 4 star hotels desperately trying to be 2-star...this is the opposite. If I had to pick fault, the only carpet in the place is on the stairs and it could do with being replaced...but this is the only niggle I have. Great place and fantastic value overall. Read more

Everything was excellent except that my blanket was dirty.I arrived in my beautiful room i uncovered the bed from the cover only to discover that below there was a filthy blanket. I told the reception but they could not speak proper English to understand what a blanket is and of course they did not bother to look in my room . It was obvious. We like the hotel, it's location and staff. First time we stayed in a room on the front, and I think we prefer a room in the back - not a noise problem, just like the decor better. Maid didn't replace the hand towel that we wanted changed. Had to ask for another, but there was no problem in having it replaced.Thank you.

We stayed here on two separate occasions during our recent vacation (July 2011). ( 5 adults). The rooms facing the street are noisy due to traffic however had a small balcony to enjoy the street life. The rooms facing the back were much quieter. The hotel personnel were very courteous and accomodated any need that we had. Unfortunately there was one major complaint which we have spoken to the hotel people about One of our party became ill and after asking, the hotel recommended a doctor. After speaking to the doctor in charge on the phone the initial cost of the visit was reasonable (but did not include medicine) After a prescription was written and a pill given the total cost escalated to 4 times the original cost because of the pill. Fortunately our Mexican connection knew we were being overcharged and we complained. We paid much less (lesson learned). We will definitely go back to this hotel Read more

The hotel is nicely situated on a street full of resturants where it is quite inexpensive to eat. Ask for a room at the back as the street is pretty busy. Rooms are a little worn but comfortable. For what we paid we were more than happy.
