SPENT THREE NIGHTS IN THE BUENAVISTA? SUITE ON THE TOP FLOOR. ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND LARGE WITH A COMFORTABLE MATTRESS AND AMAZING VIEW OF THE INCREDIBLE BEACH AND PALM TREES RIGHT OFF HUGE BALCONY. NO AC BUT HARDLY NEEDED IT AS OCEAN BREEZE THROUGH SLIDERS AND HUGE WINDOW COOLED US NICELY. ONLY DRAWBACK OF ROOM IS VERY NARROW DARK STAIRWAY TO REACH […] THIRD FLOOR, A CARRY ON BAG BARELY FITS AND LARGER LUGGAGE MUST BE TURNED SIDEWAYS. The caretaker of the hotel did his best to make everyone happy and comfortable, however.... We went without power many hours on many days even though the wind mill had been collecting power. There was no warm water to our room, despite seeing a water heater. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. There was no breakfast included or even restaurant/bar […] on site. We did recieve fresh water each day and our room was cleaned each day as well. I am not rating this hotel based on all my other vacation experiences because Mexico is unique. You have to know that if you don't want a shiny all-inclusive, your standards have to be set appropriately. That said, i was disappointed in Parayso, especially for the amount it costs. Read more

the location is the best thing about the hotel..right on the Beach. Sound of the tide is wonderful and always a breeze. The room was "balcony"on 3rd floor. It was spacious with a king bed & futon & hammock chair. The balcony was as big as the room with lounge chairs. It seemed clean, but our 2 day stay did not include maid service. The only complaint […] is that there was No Hot or even Warm Water. The Cold Water is NOT Potable! There was no food or drink there or phone, clock, tv etc. The power went out for a little bit the 2nd nite..no biggy! W didn't pay much for 2 nites so you get what you pay for! Tulum is wonderful. This hotel is perfectly located on the beach. Unfortunately it seems to be a half hearted, inexperienced attempt at creating a hotel. Firstly there is no service, no bar, no restaurant, no minibar, no fridge, no breakfast, virtually no staff, the internet never worked (guests had to go and squat at neighbouring hotels to get internet). […] The tap water is salt water, not great for the shower or to brush your teeth. A couple of cockroaches in the room, no big deal, you can expect that in a tropical location. The appearance was overall shabby, looked very unfinished and decrepit. Not the place to impress your other half. Disappointing as other hotels in the neighbourhood will offer a great service, showing care and attention to detail for comparable rates. Read more

Hotel is very simple: no A/C, no fridge, no bar or other services, but is located directly on the beach. Breakfast and other meals can be found from other hotels nearby and there is a small grocery shop about 500 yards away. There is also a swimming pool, what seem to be a rarity in this area. We got some mosquito bites, but otherwise insect situation […] was quite OK. Best thing was that you could walk directly to water from your room. WiFi didn't work inside, but by the pool it was OK and you could use WiFi of the other hotels and restaurants from the beach. Some restaurants nearby were a bit expensive, but I'm sure that you can find something very inexpensive too. If it's windy, beach may be to difficult for swimming, at least for kids. Taxi to ruins and the village was very easy to get and cost only less than 10 dollars. Distance was something like 8 km or 5 miles. Atmosphere in the hotel and surrounding area was very quiet and relaxing, but no luxurious at all. Many hotels and restaurants were ran by Italians and thus many tourists were from there. Only few North-Americans around. We selected this hotel as it was the only one available. Not very fine, but it worked. I can go back, but I prefer to find a little bit better place. Read more

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Parayso. We knew when booking it was a simple hotel without many frills, but our expectations were exceeded. The rooms have ocean views with double doors leading out to a balcony and the beach is amazing! The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. The reception area of this hotel was a one man sized hut at the entrance of the grounds which was never occupied by the receptionist except upon guests arrival. The receptionist did not understand any English. No fridge in our room despite our pre request. We booked the deluxe room with a higher rate as we were led to believe this was a better room, […] in fact it was a deluxe as it had extra beds. A waste of our money when we did not require them. Not able to purchase any drinks including bottles of water and nearest shop is several km away, and of course you have to find this out by local taxi as there is no one at the hotel to ask. The actual room was painted the brightest yellow with dirt and grim on the walls, skirting boards, doors, glass balcony doors, shower fittings, taps.... The ceiling light above the bed was full of dead insects and the light did not work. The balcony light did not work and the balcony door did not have a lock, this was also filthy with cigarette ash and sticky beer. The cupboards had rodent faeces inside so we had to keep our clothes in our bags. The curtains were so dusty that I could not touch them as I'm seriously allergic to dust. The most disgusting thing about this place was the smell from the bathroom that made you wrench every time you had to use it. There were lack of loungers on the beach. We looked every day for accommodation but due to the time of year every where was fully booked, upon checking the competition accommodation and rates we had paid premium price and received the worst place we have ever stayed in in the entire world in 28 years of travelling. Very satisfied with this hotel. It is located on the best section of an amazing beach, and has the extra bonus of being literally across the road from one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in - Hartwood. Worth staying here for those reasons if nothing else. The rooms are fairly large, high ceilings, okay sized balconies, but quite basic. The […] bed was large but not super-comfortable. We had to ask for a blanket when we first arrived because it does get cool at night sometimes. The bathroom was the weakest feature - small, somewhat smelly from the drains and the shower doesn't have much hot water. Hard not to trail sand everywhere. The room was fairly clean - not too much insect life which is an achievement in the tropics... Erica (the cleaner/maid) was absolutely wonderful in every way - patient, kind, smiling, and helpful. The hotel manager/overseers were very nice too. The room could have used a few extra touches - maybe a toaster, kettle, hot plate, utensils, plates for the kitchenette which otherwise is just a bare counter. We ended up buying cheap appliances and pots at the big supermarket ten minutes away by taxi on the way to Tulum town. Bottom line - you can pay a lot more money to stay in a more fancy hotel but this place provided very good value in an otherwise rather expensive location. Read more

Hola, al parecer el hotel esta en remodelación y varios de los servicios no funcionan como es el bar y el restaurante si esque lo tuvieron pero al lado hay una excelente opcion, en TIta venden comida riquisima! Lo que vale la pena en tulum son las playas y el mar y este hotel cuenta con una excelente ubicacion frente al mar. Incluso tuvimos la suerte de tener una expreriencia con el nacimiento de unas tortugas blancas en la playa de este hotel que posteriormente liberamos en el mar, asi que posiblemnte con algo de suerte les suceda lo mismo.
