We went at the end of April so the crowd would not be so bad. The hotel was pretty nice for the age of it. I did find out that each room is a little different so the room you get might be better then most or a little bad. Terrible the bed sheets were stained and not changed. when asked to be changed house keeping brought new clean sheets and left them on the counter for us to change. The room smelled of bad B.O. The bed felt like you were sleeping on a crate. Do not recommend this hotel.

The picture of the room that I reserved must be one room they use for reservation, because we did NOT stay in a room that looked that way. Plus I booked an Ocean FRONT room and when we arrived we were put in an ocean View room and was told the ocean front rooms were called Sun suites, which were something entirely different online. The place could use […] some upgrades to bring it into the 21st century. There are only 3 elevators to service 22 floors so it was very slow, a lot of waiting. We won't stay there again. Read more

The hotel is located directly on the beach so that is a BIG PLUS..the rooms and hotel overall NOT SO MUCH. Upon check in we were told that there is a $100 deposit. Not a big deal but would be nice if that was told prior to the check in or even on their website somewhere. The hotel carpets (hallway and in the room) need to be clean and has lots of stains […] on them. We were given a nonsmoking room but upon entry of the room..someone clearly had been smoking and makes me wonder the last time the drapes had been cleaned. Dust covered the tables in the bedroom dresser and please don't get me started on the flithy windows. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head. It is not so bad but next we know to stay at another hotel. I must admit. The staff was wonderful and the free breakfast (which is served to you cafeteria style by one person so be prepared to wait to get your breakfast) but I will not be booking this hotel EVER again. Staff was friendly, from check in to our departure everyone we ran into smiled and greeted us no matter who it was or what they were doing. Room was clean with view of ocean. Balcony was small, but fine if you are just sitting out talking or enjoying the view. Breakfast buffet was more than expected with many options. Didn't use pool due to cold, but […] hot tub was relaxing. Only complaint is toilet in our room didn't seal well and it would refill the tank every so often. We closed the bathroom door and didn't even notice it most of the time. Within walking distance to many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Living fairly close to Myrtle Beach we go out for weekend getaways every so often. Will stay here again next trip. Read more

We stayed here on my husbands r&r for a night. The hotel was a little outdated, BUT they were doing renovations when we got there so I imagine it'll look a good bit different soon (the wallpaper was the most outdated and it was getting ripped down). Although the view was wonderful and the staff was wonderful this hotel could do better at maintenance and upgrading some. The staff was great, very friendly. With a location such as this they could charge a much higher rate if they would upgrade a little. The breakfast was a plus. The neighborhood, not so much.

When we first arrived, our oceanfront angle view room had a view of the neighboring hotel and a sliver of ocean. When we called the front desk, they immediately cut us keys to look at other rooms, though. The room we ended up with was a side view of straight down the beach and it was amazing. The only other complaint I oculd come with is we would have […] liked a couple more pillows and the front desk didn't have any. Other than those 2 minor inconveniences, our stay was wonderful. The staff was professional and courteous. The room was clean, spacious, and beautiful. The views and convenience were amazing. It was also very nice to have a parking garage attached to the hotel. I hadn't been to Myrtle for 20 years and stayed at the same hotel 20 years ago. I was worried that it would be run down by now, but I was just as pleased with it this time as I was then! Read more

After reading reviews of this property I was apprehensive but couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. These are privately owned condos that have wonderful ocean views, the staff is extremely helpful and accommodating who will make you feel at home, it's clean and well maintained and one of the tallest buildings in the area so you're looking […] over the other buildings in the area making for unobstructed views. Breakfast is good, a full, hot selection of just about anything you'd want and beach access is simply walking out the back of the building and you're there. Security is good and always visible so you feel safe and parking is in a private parking structure patrolled by security. In my opinion, the rating doesn't do this property justice so give it a try...I did and ended up staying a few extra days because of it. Read more

Individual hot water heater turned down to 53 degrees, white dust covered everything in the room, inadequate lighting, very old 80's models stove and dishwr rusty and dirty looking, place for an iron but no iron (yet there was an ironing board), NO INDOOR SWIMMING POOL OR WINTER COVERED POOL PER YOUR WRITE-UP!! drink machines empty, no daily maid service-towel […] replacements only, no bed making, trash removal, etc. very poor and slow elevator service. check-in process very slow-only one person on duty and he did not appear to know what he was doing. overall poor upkeep of property. You get what you pay for. This hotel was inexpensive for being right on the ocean. While the room itself wasn't the best I've stayed in, it seemed reasonable for the price and had an excellent view of the ocean and the sunrise. And with two small children, we weren't planning on spending all day in the hotel room anyway. Breakfast was better than most […] free breakfasts I've had, but the hotel does need more elevators. You may spend a couple minutes waiting for one to arrive each time you get on. Parking in the hotel's garage was difficult with my minivan, but was doable, and would be much easier with a smaller car. All in all, I enjoyed my stay. Read more

First visit to Myrtle Beach and found the Palace to be comfortable and near to everything either by walking or a short drive. Pools are small, but the ocean front location is ideal. Condo was comfy and clean. Staff friendly. Free breakfast was ok, limited choices and same thing each day. Overall was a good experience.
