The hotel seems new and in decent condition. It is close to the subway station but also to the railroad tracks and in a busy intersection so you can hear a lot of outside traffic noise. Other than the subway, the hotel is not really accessible to much but it's worth it if price is a concern.

My friend had recommended the area because the hotel was only a block away from the 7 train, but the 7 was down the weekend we were there. The room was very cramped and had a very strong cleaning odor when we got there (we didn't really want to know what it was covering up). Our room on the 5th floor was maybe 20 feet from an elevated train, and the train would pass by a couple times an hour. The people at the front desk were not helpful about basic directions or recommendations. The hotel area was deserted and very commercial, especially at night. The hotel is at the intersection of 2 or 3 major avenues, and the only people that would see you at night would be cars zooming by. We are from the city, but we did not feel safe. The only good thing is that there was free parking (though limited), but we saw an open spot every time we came back to the hotel.

Very, very difficult to understand when they speak, or to make them understand what you are trying to tell them. I suggest you get them some dealing with people training and you will have more return guests.

The location is very good. It is just 2 blocks from the Subway station, and you can be in Times Square in 15 or 20 minutes. The neighborhood doesn´t seem very good, but the two blocks you have to walk are in a very transited street. The breakfast was very good but you the place is always crowded, so it´s better to grab your breakfast and take it to your room. The room was very clean, but also very small. We had a lot of luggage and we could hardly find a place for all of it in the room. Another issue is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything that happening outside your room. We were in a room near the front desk and we had to listen every conversation there. But overall it was a great hotel for the price and location.

This is countered by really quite windows, so even facing all that, it was easy to sleep. Area looks a little sketchy but had no issues even late at night. It's also really close to the subways and thus really quick to get into Manhattan.

It was also very convenient to public transport. The hotel itself had extremely small rooms, but was exceptionally clean and very modern and updated. However, you could hear everything happening just outside the door :( Small room but very very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast and the Metro station was just a few steps away making it easy to reach all the tourist places. The place was a bit dark and lonely at night but if you know how to be careful and watch over you shoulder, you're fine then.

Trains run at 20 minutes intrval, so you wake up about three times per hour because of the train. Even if the train tracks were futher away, you would still ge a lot of noise from the neighbors or the elevator, because the walls are very thin. You get a lot of noise from the other rooms. If a neighbor slams the door, it will sound like your own room's door was slammed...
