The room had a strong smell like dirty feet, the carpets looked dirty and we had doubts if the bed sheets had been changed. The free Wi-Fi did not work and there didn't seem to be hot water in the middle of the day. Our room (#16) was in an unlit hallway so had to use a flashlight to use the key.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable hotel for small town"
Stayed here at start of winter ( Early November) when most of Lee Vining is already closed for winter. Nice hotel and reasonable price. Don't stay in rooms on East side of highway, they are too close to road and very noisy. Not too fancy but beautiful location and few other choices around here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and acceptable"
The comforters and blankets need replacing. They were the type that you put on the floor. The carpet is a bit nasty. The room was clean other than the above mentioned. I didn't find the "Lake View"!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a fine place to stay. The room was clean and nice enough. It was the only hotel open in town this time of year. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was so loud that we did not use it. Since it was off season, this hotel was being used by construction crews working on the highway, so there were a lot of guys drinking beer in the parking lot and […] outside of their rooms. That was a little uncomfortable. We came to explore the area and go hiking, so we didn't spend much time at the hotel. Beautiful area, worth the stop. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel to stay."
the room is huge and clean, and the location is very close to Mono lake and Yosemite. Very recommended to stay, and I will be back for next time I plan to go vacation again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint and quiet"
Nice little motel. In a very quit little town. Obviously a summer spot. A lot.of seasonal business sites closed for the winter. A good overnight spot if heading to Mammoth skiing. A short drive to the hill and you avoid the mountain rates. Very clean and good beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"1. am See"
"Good choice in Lee Vining"
08/31/14 monika_everywhere Wuppertal, Germany
Close to Mono Lake, Yosemite and in reasonable distance to Bodie. Okay for a night or two - but do do not expect to see the lake from your room. Our room was huge, bed comfortable and everything was very clean. The information in the booklet in the room is outdated - we ended up being one hour prior to opening time in Bodie due to this fact. There is no breakfast at the hotel but a Cafe on site. If you have a choice go someplace else for breakfast - the service was unfriendly and disappointing. The gardens are very nice and well kept.
"Good location, easy access to Tioga Pass and Yosemite"

We stayed one night at the Lake View Lodge on our way to Yosemite from Nevada. We enjoyed the beautiful view and the spacious rooms. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Breakfast isn't provided, but there is a coffee shop and bakery on the premises and a few restaurants within walking distance. We had a small kitchenette in our room and the small grocery store was next door. We liked the front garden area with picnic tables and chairs for viewing/conversing. Fun little town with cute shops, restaurants, and beautiful views. Would definitely stay here again.
"A good place to stay beside Mono Lake"
08/19/14 ronks Northern California
The lodge is centrally located in Lee Vining, within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and city parks. (The Mono Lake Visitor Center is a bit farther away.) We had a cabin behind the main motel building; be advised that not all rooms actually have a lake view, but a few steps outside will bring it in sight. Our cottage (16A) was clean and comfortable; some ants in the kitchenette, but we didn't set up housekeeping so that was not a problem.
"Centrally located, Good Value, Great Location, Clean"

We spent 1 nights at the Lake View Lodge, Lee Vining. The location of the motel centrally located. The hotel itself is small but nice, the staff was courteous, very friendly & helpful. The room was big enough and clean. There is no breakfast but we get a discount voucher for the nearby café. Good starting point for the Yosemite N.P. Poor Internet Access, we could for once refrain
"Perfect for one night"

We booked this place last minute as we drove through the Tioga Pass. Room is spacious, friendly check in. Lee Vining is a cute little town with beautiful surroundings. Lake Mono is very close. We enjoyed our stay.

We booked a room at this hotel at the last minute and I am glad we did. We have a small family of four and got room 48T a three bedroom, two bath unit with a kitchen, living and eating area. Kitchen was nicely furnished and the living room had a 50inch(?) flat screen TV. Check out the hotel website ... it's a really great unit. The hotel is also next door to a small market and across the street from a sporting goods store in the event you forgot something. The office staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome after the seven hour trip up from SoCal. Reservations were easy and quick. Grounds were well kept amd nicely landscaped. Unit was clean and ready for us on arrival. Forgot to mention that the kitchen was furnished with matching utensils, pots, pans, and place settings. Sometimes, units like this have mismatched equipment so this was a nice touch. Bathrooms had plenty of towels, soap, and shampoo. Overall, should we visit again, we will book a room here! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Get room 44!"

We checked-in late in a Saturday after a long drive from Las Vegas. Upon arrival, we were welcomed to the hotel by a comfortable lobby and very friendly staff member. The room we were assigned was #44 and it was HUGE!! There were 5 in our group (Me, my wife and 3 smallish children) and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that we could have comfortably slept 8-10 in that room (in sleeping bags). If you were looking for an easy way to house a group of friends who don't mind sleeping on the floor, this is your place! Very clean, very nice. If I ever find myself in Lee Vining again, I will definitely stay in room #44 of the Lake View Lodge! Fridge and Microwave complete the package. If I was pressed for con's, I can think of a couple: 1. It was upstairs and a little walk from the car to get to the door of the room. 2. If you are headed for the Yosemite valley, it is about a 2.5 hour winding-road drive from the hotel. However, we hiked around the East side and found it very nice and WAY less crowded that the valley. Other than that, we were delighted with the Lake View Lodge.

My second stay at this motel outside of.Yosemite proved to me that the owners are committed to.maintaining a good property. The small cafe (open for breakfast only) serves good.drinks. The room was.clean and cool. (It was hot.and smoky outside.) The desk staff was.helpful. And I found a great piece of pottery for sale.in the lobby. Conveniently located to Mono Lake. And the grounds are a delight with lots.of.grass, flowers and shady places to lounge. The only
"Old-fashioned charm, great location"
08/02/14 Stephen M Cincinnati, Ohio
Staff was friendly, room décor was outdated but fit the old-fashioned look and feel of the rest of the Lodge and Lee Vining in general. Location is great - right across street from Mono Lake, amazing views, and situated in portal town of Lee Vining, just outside Inyo N.F. and eastern entrance to Yosemite. No continental breakfast - there is a coffee and pastry shop just next door. Hotel WiFi is not great due to remote location as well.
"Old-fashioned motel, nice gardens"
08/01/14 Jeanette1 Sunnyvale, California
You don't have too many lodging choices in Lee Vining, and after checking Trip Advisor, we chose the Lake View Lodge. We really wanted to stay in one of the cottages, but on a busy weekend, all were booked, and we reserved a king bed room. After semi-camping experiences in and near Yosemite, it was a relief to open the door to a large, clean room with a comfy bed! Yes, the room was a little dated, complete with flowered bedspread and inadequate lighting. Spotty wi-fi, but this town IS a little remote. The motel has beautiful gardens on various levels, with lounge chairs and tables placed so you can relax outside and, on the upper levels, enjoy the view of Mono Lake. You can walk the length of the town from the motel in a couple of minutes, and there are a few shops. We went in the Mono Lake Committee office down the street and enjoyed their interpretive displays of the lake and its history. We reserved a canoe tour through them but it was too windy and it was cancelled. They still gave us a walking tour, which was fascinating. Lee Vining works for exploring Bodie, Mono Lake, and other eastern Sierra attractions, but is a bit pricey; there just aren't that many lodging choices in the region. The Lake View Lodge was perfectly fine for our one-night stay. Tip: Eat at the Mobil!
