"Hôtel Le Tilbury à Porto-Vecchio"
L'accueil est très sympathique et la chambre très propre et confortable, même si une rénovation et modernisation serait nécessaires pour un 3 étoiles; une très belle vue du balcon sur le golfe et sur la piscine; les restaurants sont à 5 minutes à pied dans la citadelle; le garage couvert, fermé la nuit et gratuit, avec un accès direct à l'ascenseur […] est très pratique. Le petit déjeûner ne nécessite pas de supplément mais manque peut-être de fruits frais, en plus du jus d'orange pressé bien agréable. Nous sommes très satisfaits de notre séjour même si la saison n'a pas vraiment commencé (1ère semaine d'avril; il faut attendre Pâques au minimum pour toute la Corse); l'avantage est que nous circulons plus facilement ! Location is excellent and staff is friendly but this does not help a hotel that is old and dirty, with mould and dampness, stained carpet floors, dirty walls, ants in bathroom and small beds. Uncomfortable stay at a very high price!!!

We chose this hotel with ambition, as noted on the ad online, easy access to the spa, care etc.. What a surprise to note that everything was paying! We have, moreover, booked early in order to refine the cost. What a surprise to note that if we booked the same day, we would have had a much lower price! Conclusion: no constructive discussion could be possible with the manager. Disappointment.

Great value for your money, my room had a fantastic view. The rooms are a little tired but clean, tidy and spacious. The staff are second to none, reception could not of been more helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a set continental, once again the staff were friendly and good fun when I tried out my schoolboy french.

Although hotel desperately needs refurbishment, it has very good location, just outside of crowdy old town. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Tasty continental breakfast, served on the pool side was always a nice start of the day. Staff was extremely kind and helpful.

From the minute we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. Beautiful and perfect location for visiting the old town. Our room looked over the grand city walls, the church steeple and the sea! What more could you want! Our room even had a fireplace! Excellent experience! Would highly recommend to all.

My wife and I stayed here for one night. The welcome and room were fine. There is a nice pool. The walk to the old town, with lots of shops and restaurants was less than 10 minutes. Parking in a garage is free. Only complaint is that it was a bit difficult to find, as signs are lacking.

We have stayed at Le Tilbury many Times and I have reviewed it previously also. This summer we stayed at the new Le Tilbury "En Apparté". Basically it is apartments next door to the hotel with full hotel service; cleaning, breakfast , swimming pool etc. The apartment we had was really spacious with two rooms and a kitchenette. There's also a balcony and a great view to the sea and old town walls. Everything is new and works perfectly. The hotel is really close to the old town shops and restaurants and the price is more or less okay, compared with the competition. We will definitely return to the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel for many years when visiting Porto-Vecchio. It is a pleasant place with friendly and informal atmosphere. Sure, it is no Sheraton or Waldorf Astoria nyt frankly I cannot understand these overpriced comments. Try Porto Cervo or Capri if You want overpriced, this is quite okay, given the location, view and the pool area. It's fifteen minutes away from the most beautiful beaches in the world and a short walk to the old town restaurants. I definitely recommend staying there but if you want to get some serious formal tuxedo style licking and fancy design furniture, go elsewhere.
"Adequate and a good location but nothing special"
We stayed in a reasonable room with bathroom with a bath. It could have been a little more spacious and there was no fridge. The rooms need renovation. The balcony was nice. The pool area was lovely and a nice place to have their very adequate breakfast. Some of the staff were very friendly. Like many placed that we saw in Corsica in August, the place was very over-priced and doesn't compare well on a global level for a three star. However we were happy with our stay but would probably book further in advance and choose somewhere at the beach if we were to return.

We stayed for 12 nights at the Tilbury in Porto-Vecchio in July / August. The location was perfect, being right on the edge of the old town and also not too far to walk down to the port. The rooms really need freshening up. The curtains, bed-spread and carpet should all be replaced. The walls could do with a fresh coat of paint as well. The bed was hard and squeaky and the pillows old, flat and tired. The lighting in the room was also weak. The room was one which adjoined the room next door which meant we could hear absolutely everything in the next room. It was always quite depressing coming back to the room each evening, especially when paying EUR 233 / night and knowing that for a small amount of investment on the hotel's part it could be so much more welcoming. One other odd thing was that the toilet had a very strong urine smell which didn't dissipate at all during our almost two week stay - gross! The staff were mostly friendly, however a small request for one extra hour before checking out on our final day was met with a curt "Non!" - this really was unreasonable, especially after having stayed for 12 nights and with check in for the next guest being three hours later. Perhaps either of the two ladies that worked on reception - Tania and Elodie, who were much friendlier and always helpful - would have replied positively if either had been working on our final day. Unfortunately it was Laurent, who was moody - happy one day and grumpy the next! The pool area of the hotel was clean and well looked after, however it's unlikely you'd be using it much with so many beaches in the area. The hotel doesn't provide beach towels - moody Laurent told us to go and buy some! In summary, you can definitely do much better than this hotel. Maybe try the Best Western next door for about 40% less cost, the Holzer on the other side of the old town or Costa Salina on the port.
