The hotel is very convenient even from the airport because the airport shuttle has the plaza catalunya as its final stop. Then the hotel is just a block around the corner of the big Corte Ingles store, besides there is a tourist information at the bus stop to give directions. The staff are okay but some don't bother to open the doors for you at night […] even if they see you outside. you have to use your own key. You also have to carry the ironing board and iron to your room if you want to iron your clothes. The bed is okay. but it is very convenient to everything in Barcelona. Read more

Even the hotel location is good but everything else is awful. You will have the sound of metro and vibration cause by it. You can not sleep very well over there. The quality of beds and the rooms are not even look like a 2 stars hotel. You don't have a room service.

This is a very nice hotel in the very heart of the shopping and tourist location. You are within walking distance to bus stops, groceries, shopping center, and the busiest tourist street in Barcelona, Las Ramblas. The breakfast is too expensive unless you eat a lot, so we saved a lot on the room by reserving the room without breakfast and bought fruit […] the night before at the grocery store. The hotel has 2 elevators, clean rooms. Some rooms are very small and ours was a little larger with an outdoor balcony in the back of the hotel. The location near Plaça de Catalunya was convenient to everything, and the staff was most helpful and courteous. It was one of the best rates in the area. I had read some reviews when we first booked that commented on the size of the rooms. We found the rooms to be clean and small but quite adequate. The breakfast buffet was good but pricey.

This hotel fit the requirements that my Dad used to live by: "A place to lay my head, and take a hot shower." A clean, but noisy hotel. Great location is about the best you can say for Hotel Gran Ducat. Hotel is hard to find -- big sign on the outside of the top floor but signage at eye level is hard to see - our taxi driver couldn't find the hotel despite it being on a main street of Barcelona. Upon check-in, we were given NO information about any amenities -- maybe because there weren't […] many. Didn't know there was a lounge and business center with computer on the first floor. There was no information in the room about services, meals or nearby tourist information, such as the metro or even a tourist map of the city. Luckily we were next door to a STarbucks for breakfast and near the Placa de Catalunya - the center of the city. The clerks were indifferent to their guests - but since we spent so little time in the hotel, it was tolerable. A little more hospitality would have been appreciated. The Hotel was easy to find and cluse to Placa de Catalunya. Grocery store accross the street. Room was small but clean and well kept. Staff was very helpful. Biggest problem was the noise. Alot of young partyers in the hotel with a lot of loud voices. Halls echoed the sound and it was disturbing until it quieted late at night.

This hotel is about 100 yds away from a major subway station, Urquinaona. Literally, right next store to a Starbucks. 2 blocks from Placa Catalunya and the main tourist office. Nearby restaurants 24/7. It was easy to pop back in for a siesta and to drop stuff off during the day as needed. Very quiet hotel, elevators, spacious bathrooms. We were there for 5 nights. When we arrived we were allocated rooms which were quite small. There were no other rooms available, but we we allocated larger rooms for the next day. The staff were exceedingly helpful and kept our bags in their office until our rooms were ready. We did not take the breakfast as we felt it was overpriced and there are 3 […] bars within 30 metres of the hotel which serve excellent breakfasts at a cheaper price. The Hotel Gran Ducat is convenient for Plaza de Cataluña and the surrounding areas. We had a clean and functional room, which was above the metro line. This did mean that we could hear some of the metro trains passing underneath, but it was not too noisey.

While the hotel location is very central, the room itself is VERY small and bare, the bed is uncomfortable and the one window faces into a closed area so there is hardly any air in the room. The people at reception are not very friendly or helpful.

Greit hotell i forhold til pris, meget sentralt ved place del Catalunya, 2 minutter gange fra La Rambla. Rommet vi hadde var svært lite og sengen var kun 140 cm brede, hvilket er litt for smalt for 2 voksne. Rommet ble rengjort hver dag.
