We absolutely loved our time at West Cliff Inn. My friends and I stayed there on a mini-vacation weekend in Santa Cruz. The breakfast in the morning was so delicious (especially the handmade scones), and they even put out snacks and wine in the afternoon! My husband and I will be returning to this B&B! We loved the King Suite (Room 8) and had a view of the ocean, pier and Boardwalk out our bedroom window. The house is nicely renovated and we really enjoyed a relaxing stay. Breakfast was small, but delicious. The West Cliff Inn has got to be situated in one of the best possible spots in Santa Cruz - It is lovely and what a wonderful house it must have been at the turn of the century. From the moment we walked in last night around 5:00pm, Rachel (I think that's her name) was awesome - very welcoming without being sticky about it, informative and helpful. […] She laid out simple hors d'oeuvres of cheeses, veggies and a few sweet things in one of the first floor parlors along with red and white wine. When we asked, she gave us some helpful ideas and directions to a few near by (walking distance) places for a sunset dinner. Our room (#6) was very nice. The lovely marble-clad bathroom's tub/shower was HUGE!!! I think if I came back, I would ask for either room #3 or #4 because they are on the front of the building with unobstructed views of the Bay. My one and only minor complaint would be that I wish the bed linens were a little finer. Their texture is a bit scratchy rather than soft and crisp as I would expect them to be. It's the one thing that felt incongruent with the refined atmosphere of the rest of this lovely B&B. But that's literally all I took any exception to. This morning's breakfast in the downstairs parlor was fantastic - a delicious, moist quiche, potatoes, sweet baked goods, bagels, English muffins with choices of cream cheese, jams or peanut butter, muesli, coffee, tea, the works. Westcliff Inn is in a perfect spot and public rooms were great, however our bedroom, number 4, was extremely cramped and the king size bed made it hard to get around and into the bathroom.. We only had one tiny chair and really nowhere to store out two pieces of luggage. Small bedroom apart, the breakfast and evening wine and munchies were excellent. […] We loved socializing with other guests and exchanging ideas about places to visit. We could not have been much closer to the wharf (restaurants, amusement park, ocean). The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The inn itself immaculate, authentically historic and beautiful. We really enjoyed our visit and will return, however there were some big problems during our visit: 1) Once we turned the fireplace on (by turning up the thermostat), it wouldn't shut off. We had to call the after hours emergency number to find out how to manually shut off the gas. The room was then 80 degrees (at 3 AM) and the air conditioning wouldn't […] work!!! We had to leave the windows open all night and got very little sleep. 2) The WiFi was not strong enough to be usable in Room #3. Even with a booster antenna (which most people don't carry), the signal was quite weak. 3) When I called the after-hours emergency number to get help with the temperature in the room and the WiFi issue, the phone support person had outdated information for the WiFi (wrong network name and incorrect password) and did not have the current information. Not having anyone on site after 8 PM is not convenient for your guests. 4) In the bathroom, there were no curtains on the windows and the neighbors at the hotel next door could watch us use the toilet and the shower. This amazed me. Quiet embarrassing! You need to add shears in the bathroom of room #3. Overall, the hotel is wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back, but please fix the thermostat, the WiFi and add bathroom curtains in Room #3, and please have someone on site or outsite round the clock available or at least give the after hours support people more current and accurate information. I was sad when we left. Charming and quaint, and the only draw back might be that there is no elevator, but staff is willing to carry your luggage up to the second floor if you need help. Otherwise it was a great experience.

This is a charming historical building renovated with extreme thoroughness. It operates in a manner similar to a bed and breakfast hotel and only one staff member was present when we checked in. She mentioned that her shift ended at 8pm. I am not sure how we would have checked in had we been late, since after that time entrance to the hotel lobby uses […] your door key. Hotel was in a good location within walking distance of the wharf and beaches. The hotel itself was superb - lovely rooms and guest balconies. Staff were extremely helpful in suggesting places to go and with making bookings locally. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

Hotellet fantastiskt, mycket vänlig service, bra läge intill Havet. Grillar som personalen satte fyr på. Vi satt med ett glas vin och bara njöt, av utsikt, och lugn.Bra läge om man vill se Hearst Castel. 10 min. bilresa. Det bästa hotellet hittils på vår 45 dagars Road Trip. Vi hade averkat 10 av dessa innan vi kom hit.

Lindo lugar, casa antigua y remodelada... el problema es que la habitación ubicada en el tercer piso ( habitación 9 ) era el ático, por lo tanto la ventanita al exterior era pequeña y sin vista. Para no sentir tanta claustrofobia hicieron tres tragaluces en el techo, pero éstos no tienen como bloquear la entrada de luz. 部屋はとってもきれいで、朝食もとってもおいしかったです。お風呂がマッサージジャグジーつきでとってもいいです。 ただフロントデスクが8時で閉まるため、そのあとに着いても誰もいなく、ホテル内に入るにもカードキーがいるため、入ることができません。 緊急番号にかけてくださいと書いてある番号にかけると９１１（日本の救急車番号）かこの番号にかけてくださいとアナウンスを聞くことができ、その後フロントデスクのひとより指示を聞きながらそとのメールボックスをナンバーを押してあけるという変わった対応です。 8時すぎる場合は注意が必要です。
