      We wish the hotel had notified us that they are currently undergoing renovations; but the rooms were great and the staff did everything possible to make us comfortable. The hotel restaurant had great food and was very affordable; especially for breakfast. Off season pricing was great and our family would love to go again!

      We visited friends in the area of Duck for the New Year’s holidays. I decided to book with the Barrier Island Station Resort, which offered a very attractive off-season rate. We were given a two-bedroom, two-bath suite on two levels on the third floor. It included a full kitchen, dinning room and living room. The rooms were clean, well-appointed and offered a great view of the ocean. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend the Barrier Island Resort to all visitors.

    View was beautiful and size of the room itself was good, but the bathroom was very small and the continential breakfast was not much or healthy. I can pay less in another hotel and have a bigger bathroom and better breakfast.

    Unfortunately we were only there one day so we did not have much opportunity to use the Jacuzzi as it did not open until 9:30 a.m. and we were back on the road by then. We arrived around 1 p.m. and were accommodated with early check-in which we really appreciated, so we could freshen up in our rooms before the wedding. 4:00 p.m. check-in seems rather […] late, but I can understand when it's in season it can get pretty hectic keeping up with turning over the rooms sooner.     We enjoyed our stay at the Nags Head Inn. We did have a few minor maintenance issues but the staff dealt with them promptly and even issued a partial refund for our trouble. The staff was very friendly and the building was incredibly clean. We would definitely stay there again!

You get a spacious room, good beds, depending on you booking ocean view, a small balcony, a minimalistic breakfast with cookies and coffee, and a good price. But the hotel is not really pretty, the big parking lot between hotel and beach impaired for us a bit the ocean […] feeling, and also the surroundings offer -except beach and ocean - nothing exceptional.     Nags Head Inn is my personal Outer Banks favorite. The staff is friendly and courteous and the rooms are gorgeous. Oceanside rooms are a real bargain during the off-season and the king bed is very comfortable. Great central location too.

    We very much enjoyed our 4-day/3-night stay. Wonderful location with direct access to beach and oceanfront. Also very convenient to the many excellent restaurants on Virginia Dare Drive as well as shopping centers, etc. and easy drives to some of the local highlights such as the Kitty Hawk National Memorial, Roanoke Island, Hyway 12 drive, etc. We couldn't […] have been more pleased. Our room was relatively large, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We didn't have any problems during our stay. Although The Inn was busy, we didn't encounter any bothersome noise. The private balcony overlooked the beach (and parking area, too, but not a big issue) and gave views of some fantastic sunrises! Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a smallish indoor swimming pool which we didn't use. (We had the ocean!) In general, we thought we got good value especially during tourist season. However, the "free breakfasts" were a bit disappointing. Vending machine-type (bagged) pastries, coffee or tea, and OJ was it. Kind of funny was that the staff person monitored what we took (back to our room) like a hawk! Perhaps they have had trouble with some folks loading up. Just a bit chintzy fare given the room rate and type of facility. But, this wasn't a big issue and, again, we had a wonderful time at this inn. We didn't come for the breakfasts but for the ocean and beach and that we got! We definitely would consider returning and recommending this hotel to others. Read more

    My family stayed one night at the Nags Head Inn during a travel between Virginia Beach and Emerald Isle, NC. We wanted a place to stay close to the Wright Bros. Memorial and the Roanoke Outdoor Drama, which would also be an easy place to depart on Sunday morning for travel to EI. The Nags Head Inn was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable.     Instead of sitting in traffic on the way down on a Saturday for our house check-in, we headed down on Friday and stayed here. The drive was much better and we got a great start to the day on Saturday. We got a beachfront room and the kids had a great time.     The room was perfectly clean and well maintained. The private beach is greta and the indoor pool conveniently situated on the way back from the beach. You can rinse your sandy feet and body just before enterng the hotel. The breakfast is minimal with only tea, coffee or juice and some locally baked cookies. The price is reasonnable in the area.

    The hotel was decent - good sized room but pretty basic. The best part is it truly was beach front with a great view (if you get an oceanside room). The staff is friendly and responsive.

    This hotel underwent a massive renovation and it shows. The rooms, hallways, lobby and parking area are very tasteful and comfortable. The bed is comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the advice they give for places to dine is spot on. My wife and I look forward to staying here again.
