The room is just perfect for two people. Spent alot of time by the pool, which is right outside the rooms. Walking distance to the ocean, the hotel has towels, lawn chairs and coolers you can take to the ocean and return them when your done. While my husband was at a business meeting, I took the kids across the street to the beach, which was beautiful and unpopulated. The pool was lovely, but we did not use it, we'd rather have the beach when it is that close. Great food within reasonable driving distance. The one complaint I do have is that the mattress in the sofa bed was beyond uncomfortable. It was definitely on it's way out, I would advise checking condition of sofa bed before you use it, to make sure it is ok. Otherwise, this place was great. We would most certainly stay there again. Running/Biking trail directly in front of the motel; Pool was somewhat small and not used by me. Beach towels, chairs and a few toys available for free. This hotel has been remodeled in the last couple of years. The rooms have tile floors and a great kitchenette. The best aspect of the hotel is the nearby beach. All you have to do is walk half a block up A1A and cross the street to be at the park/beach. It's an isolated area so the beach isn't crowded. The pool looked great (I went to the beach instead) […] and the lounge chairs were great. Being along A1A, there is minimal traffic vs being further inland so it was quiet at night. Unfortunately, there are some minor things that detract from it. My room had a slight odor to it, the bathroom shower curtain had some mildew and smelled a bit. The alarm clock was broken and couldn't be set. Although the windows have blindes, I wish they had blackout curtains. This was my second stay in two years at the hotel. This hotel was a pleasant surprise for the price. The only complaints I had were the lighting outside, which was extremely bright and made sleeping difficult. We rigged up a blanket over the window the second night and it was better. Also, we stayed two nights and I thought they might come in and make the beds and tidy up the secod day, but there was […] no maid service. The continental breakfast was nice, (delicious cake) but they ran out of coffee both mornings, and started clearing it all away before 10:00 am, which is when people on vacation are typically interested in eating. There was no office staff on site when we were there. The breakfast area was very pretty, as was the pool area. The beach is right across the street, and we had a great walk on the beach one morning. Interesting place to stay. When we arrived, the office was empty but the manager was easily reached by phone and he indicated there was an envelope on the door that contained a letter w/ our room number an combination to the key box outside the room. The room was everything we expected and then some. Very clean, very nicely decorated and very nice sized. […] The queen bed was a bit hard and lumpy and not the most comfortable night sleep and the pull out couch bed had some springs missing or loose causing the mattress to sink, but it was fine for our 7 year old to sleep on. There were 2 things that made our stay a little less enjoyable: the fact that there are pets allowed on this premises and that some people had their pets off leash around the pool caused my son some grief (he is 7 and was attacked by a pit bull when he was 5). Dogs that bark and run up to him are still pretty scary, not to mention the 2 pit bulls who live up stairs that we only saw once and rarely come out. There was also an incident that was quite disturbing when we returned after being gone all day and the room had been cleaned and my husband discovered half of one of his prescription medicatioins missing. I immediately called the manager who responded immediately by calling the cleaning agency and in fairness, they said they didn't take it, but we contacted the police any way since it was a schedule IV narcotic and reported it. All in all, I would say it was a great stay, just be sure to take your valuables with you and watch out for any dogs that may be unrestrained by the pool (all rooms surround the pool). Read more
