The Room was very badly lighted. One could not read a newspaper for example. Second example, bed matresses were far too soft and sagging and obtaining non feather pillows for my Wife was excessively difficult. The food served in the bar restaurant was awful and looked and tasted like warmed over frozen food. Definitlely not up to normal Ritz Carlton […] standards and well below expectations. Finally, obtaining assistance with the Room problems from Housekeeping it was very difficult to converse with Housekeeping staff as few of them were Irish and could not speak much English ...... a total surprise when staying at a Hotel no more than a few miles from Dublin. Arrived at the Powerscourt on a rainy Irish night and did not think too much of it until we walked inside. The awesome staff ( namely Alex, (porter), and the French gentleman at the front desk (sorry I did not ask his name, and if he said it we were weary from 13 hours of travel) greeted us with all the charm and warmth the Ritz Carlton organization. […] The room was spacious, clean, well decorated, and my wife LOVED the bathroom!! The bed cradled us like babies and wore away our jet lag. The next morning we had a wonderful well prepared Irish breakfast and eggs benedict. The grounds were well manicured and vast to say the least. A visit to this hotel is not complete without a full stroll around the grounds. Preferably after breakfast. A short hike away is the waterfall which should not be missed!! This hotel has much to offer for the weekend romantic getaway or the entire family. We will definitely return to the Ritz at Powerscourt. Oh, did I mention downtown Dublin is only a 30 min. drive away. So you can enjoy the quiet of the Irish countryside and the excitement of Dublin. Hands down the best hotel we've ever stayed at. We've been in Palaces and Castles ... but they do not compare to this hotel. The staff is amazingly attentive, courteous, friendly, outgoing, etc. The food served here is incredible. The facilities are neat, clean, technologically modern, and situated in a beautiful part of Co Wicklow.

The Ritz Carlton is a world class hotel located in stunning surroundings. Located on the grounds of Powers Court this hotel lacked for nothing. We had the opportunity to eat at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant located on sight and enjoyed our meal immensely.

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Ritz-Carlton and enjoyed being pampered during our stay. The meal at Gordon Ramsey's was fantastic and a real taste journey. Service was perfect and all the staff at the hotel were great. An excellent hotel set in fabulous surroundings. Everything from check-in to leaving the hotel was perfect. Staff were very friendly with nothing too much trouble from taking bags to our room to making sure we knew how everything worked (all touch control panels in rooms!). We choose a mountain view suite which was perfect for our family (2 kids). Large […] room with 2 double beds & a separate sitting area which gave us lots of room. Large bathroom with 2 sinks, separate shower & bath which were immaculate. Would highly recommend for families with an excellent kids play room equipped with WII, craft area, table tennis & other games tables and even a kids check-in desk which was a hit with our 5 year old! Breakfast again was excellent - buffet style with lots of choice. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but had a snack in the bar which was very good. Very highly recommended. Booked three mountain view suites as a surprise for my sons 21st birthday. Grandparents were blown away by the experience. Suites were like lovely small apartments, staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you think the Ritz is too grand for you, please don't, it was a really lovely stay. Personal highlight was the pool and […] jacuzzi, a lovely indulgent way to start the day. And the hotel it has it's own pub, which was great fun. A lovely place in the beautiful Wicklow mountains, and near enough to Johnnie Fox's for local colour. However the bikes were not really up to scratch and mine did not even have gears so thankfully I am fit and enjoyed the challenge of riding uphill with nothing to aid me only my physical strength! First visit and we were really impressed, it was our first wedding anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it special for us ( chocolates and card delivered to our room, complimentary dessert with happy anniversary on the plate) wonderful dinner in gordan ramseys restaurant. The Ritz Carlton at Powerscourt is in a beautiful setting, in the grounds of a lovely Irish country estate. The hotel is attractive and well appointed. The staff were largely Eastern European, with just a few Irish staff in evidence, resulting in fairly efficient but characterless service. Most guests were American, wearing hats indoors (the men) and […] demanding "steak sauce".....a condiment not universally available on this side of the Atlantic. We ate breakfast in the hotel but we would have hesitated to pay the 29 Euro charge had we not had the inclusive deal. I was very disappointed at the standard of cooked breakfast, undercooked bland sausages and overcooked dry and hard black and white puddings. Tea was made with hot but not boiling water, eggs were undercooked. When I asked for English mustard, I was told none was available. I sent a note to the General Manager after the first day but received no response. Sadly there was no improvement the next day. It may seem hard to slate an hotel for its poor cooked breakfast but I believe that such an establishment should be aiming for the highest standards. The Ritz Carlton did not come anywhere near those high standards. I have considered my comments carefully as well as trying to figure out why breakfast was so poor. I wonder if the lack of Irish (or British) cooks is responsible? The Ritz Carlton needs to grip this issue to save its reputation. In all my years travelling I have rarely if ever been so disappointed. Read more

We stayed two nights at the hotel for a cousin's wedding. The entire stay was excellent in every respect. Service was excellent . The room was absolutely superb. It seems that no expense was spared in the building of this hotel. Rooms were very large and well appointed. Truly five star. Everything is still in very new condition. The location in the […] Wicklow mountains is spectacular . Only a short walk to the nearby Powerscourt Estate Gardens which are said to be the finest in Ireland. There are also some small shops and a nice little cafe there . The little village of Enniskerry is just outside the hotel grounds and is also a lovely little Irish village with a few cosy pubs and restuarants. The wedding reception was also at the hotel and the service and food was excellent. I would most certainly recommend this hotel. Great location for a wedding or as a base to explore the Wicklow mountain region yest still close to Dublin too. Read more

We stayed at the ritz carlton 2yrs ago and we were so impressed that we booked to go back again this year to celebrate my special birthday, it was all I remembered and more, nothing was to much trouble for all the lovely staff, the room was amazing, last time we stayed we had a mountain view suite, this year we had a garden view, unfortunately as with […] all gardens at this time of year there wasn't much to look at except a large garden wall, but in summer it would be breathe taking, so if you plan to go in winter book a mountain view. The rooms are exquisite with 5 star luxury and comfort, feather beds and rain forest showers, 3 tv's to watch and all the furniture is comfortable. During the evening we ate at all the differant venues in the hotel and would reccomend all of them, one night we went into Enniskerry to Nancy Murphy's and a car and driver was at our disposal to get there and to be brought home, allowing us to partake in the local hospitality. I cant reccomend this hotel enough, and hopefully I will return. Read more
