A warm friendly welcome from the Inn Keeper .We had the Samuel Beale Room very comfortable although the bathroom was very small so was the TV...a 12inch screen ...There was a step up to the very comfortable high double bed. A very nice 3 course breakfast which was different each day of our 3 day stay. ..muffin or scone to start followed by fruit..eg […] poached pear in a special juice then pancakes or omelette ...would have appreciated a choice of main course. There was ample very nice flavoured coffee but there was no offer of anymore food other than what was served. Walking distance to at least 2 nice restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good jumping-off point for Cape Cod adventures"
The service was excellent, especially the breakfast. We found we had Hawaii experiences in common with the owners, and that made for pleasant memories. First-class food was delightful. We were in the right place to visit Cape Cod in one day, and then head for Boston refreshed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fabulous Food & Comfortable Stay"
We will be sure to return. Breakfast fare, service and ambiance a wonderful way to start your day. Wish breakfast was served beginning at 8am...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The proprietors were incredibly kind and hospitable throughout our stay. For breakfast, they asked if we had any dietary restrictions and when we told them we were vegan, they didn't even hesitate. The next two mornings we were presented with some of the best food we've had. They offered to make reservations for us at local restaurants and had recommendations […] handy for vegan friendly places, which is a tremendous help on the cape. They knew the area inside and out, recommending great alternate routes around that saved time on traffic and provided tremendous scenic views. Our room was likewise tremendous. It was pristine. The antique furniture was beautifully maintained and the bed was very comfortable. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Comfortable furniture in a beautiful room in a beautiful house in the heart of the Cape run by wonderful people who charge incredibly reasonable rates - the best of both worlds. Our hosts were willing to do anything to enhance our stay. The home and our room were authentic 19th century charm. "Wonderful Bed and Breakfast"
Everything about this B&B was a delight. The room was comfortable and charming, the amenities were plentiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were easy going and made us feel at home. I will certainly return and highly recommend this B&B to others. "this is everything i love about B&Bs"
The room was well appointed with all the details thought of--even lip balm and beach towels! I loved the victorian feel of the house, it was gorgeous. The owners were extremely accomdating and helpful, when we had to […] leave early before the ordinary breakfast time one morning, they had a to-go breakfast packed and ready for us. "A step back in time"
Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Isaiah Jones Homestead/B&B. Located in Sandwich village, this historic Victorian Inn fits perfectly into the surroundings. It's beautiful in every respect...from the meticulously maintained home and gardens to the period antiques in every room. The sun-lit dining room is warm and inviting and the breakfasts prepared […] by Katherine (and served by Don), are simply fabulous.Don't be misled by the "star" rating, just read all the personal reviews! I am a sixty-year-old woman and stayed at this bed and breakfast during a five-day Cape Cod vacation with a girlfriend. The Sandersons made our stay a real pleasure. They were knowledgeable about attractions on the Cape and eager to help us plan our activities. However, the best part of our stay was the breakfasts! Katherine is a superb cook, producing […] home-made fruit scones or muffins every day. My favorite breakfast was the blueberry pancakes, with sweet and juicy blueberries inside a delicate batter. Our room, the Dr. Lombard Jones, was spacious and comfortable. The location couldn't be better, just steps away from the center of town. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Home at the Homestead"
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at the Isaiah Jones Homestead! Donnie and Katherine were warm and welcoming hosts who made me feel like I lived there from the get go. My room and the entire home were very comfortable, and I can't say enough about the gourmet breakfasts served each morning. Delicious scones, muffins, pancakes, frittatas...made fresh […] and served friendly...with plenty of coffee and Donnie's famous combo (orange and cranberry juice)! All this right in downtown Sandwich, a short and pleasant walk from shops and attractions. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would not recommend"
This was the poorest location in our vacation. We normally stayed in the Dan'l Webster but wrongly thought we would try a 'traditional inn' which we regret. The food was not to our taste and I did not eat anything on the two days there, which seemed to upset the host! The room was so dark I wish I had a flashlight to see- although I did see the spider […] webs in the corners. I was glad to leave and would not recommend this inn to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great getaway to recharge your batteries"
07/08/14 Pete C Tampa, Florida, United States
We spent the week of 4th of July here and it was so peaceful. Donnie and Katherine were very gracious hosts, we were able to buy ferry tickets to Martha's Vineyard there. They also checked us in online for our return flight and printed our boarding passes. They have plenty of local information and maps. The breakfasts were always delicious with a view of a beauthiful garden. Our room was small, but comfortable. We were treated like guests, we got a big hug from Katherine when we left. We aren't the type to vacation at the same place twice, but this may be the exception.
"Love this Place"

We are 'frequent flyers" at this B&B and have enjoyed each and every stay. This was our first visit during the summer and it was such a treat to see the flowers and gardens in bloom. As always, Katherine's breakfasts are yummy and she and Donnie make all guests feel at home and appreciated. The carriage house rooms are our favorites. Breakfast on the deck was a nice surprise. Will definitely be back.
"Wonderful, as always!!"

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in early June at the Isaiah Jones Homestead. While we’ve been delighted to be at New Year’s Eve celebrations there for the past few years, we had not been summer guests for 5 years. We were not disappointed in our summer return. Katherine and Donny were ideal hosts and the house and room (Dr. Samuel Beale – our favorite) were as comfortable as ever. Breakfasts were the usual treat – during our stay we had eggs Benedict, omelets, pancakes, and French toast, along with the usual selection of freshly baked pastries, specially prepared fruits, and wonderful juices. The house was spotlessly clean and the air-conditioning worked wonderfully for daytime comfort and a good night’s sleep. After some very good dinners within walking distance, it was a pleasure to relax in the wonderful guest living room with some sherry or port, coffee and tea, and fresh cookies, providing a tranquil end to busy days (including the John Adams tour in Quincy, the National Seashore and small towns and craft stores along 6A.) It also afforded the opportunity for some pleasant conversation with interesting fellow guests. We’re delighted to highly recommend the Isaiah Jones Homestead when visiting Sandwich.
"much needed respite!"
06/29/14 Laura P Peabody, Massachusetts
Thanks to innkeepers Don and Katherine, our 2 night stay was a much needed respite for us busy parents! The weather was picture perfect which was a bonus! The inn is beautiful, well maintained, and oh so quiet, which is a far cry from our usual hectic pace! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the whirlpool tub was an extra treat after our day's excursions! The highlight has to be Katherine's gourmet breakfasts. The food we had on both mornings was easily the best breakfast we have had at any B&B or restaurant for that matter! She truly could have her own show, as her husband attested to! They even recommended restaurants within walking distance from the inn: amazing food at both places! If you appreciate good food, a bit of history, and welcoming hosts, then look no further than this special inn! We will be back!
"Carraige house comfortable and breakfast special"
06/28/14 Tom F Glen Burnie, Maryland
We stayed one night in the carriage house. It was very comfortable for 3 people. The inn keepers were so very nice and their breakfast was one of the best. The only reason I give the inn a very good is because of the visible cobwebs in the carriage house. Everything else was very clean. They should just take an extra few minutes for that extra sparkle.
"An excellent B&B in Sandwich"
06/09/14 Rob B Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
We have stayed in other B&Bs in a couple of countries. They are usually always in old historic houses. If you want shiny new amenities and the anonymity of a chain hotel , you should probably look elsewhere. For those of us who appreciate the history and quaintness of a B&B, Isaiah Jones is truly excellent. We stayed in the Captain Weeks room in the Carriage house. It was very nice. My wife and I appreciated the privacy and how quiet it was at night. The sheets and towels are very high quality. The room atmosphere including skylights, jacuzzi, and gas fireplace was worth the extra money. We did not spend much time in the room, but if you do plan to stay in, you should know that the TV is very small. It should probably be upgraded. Donnie and Katherine are very good hosts and genuinely nice people. Katherine is also an excellent breakfast chef. One of the great advantages of a B&B is being able to benefit from the experience and connections of the Inn keepers. They will make suggestions for anything you are interested in doing in the area and they will help you any way they can. Here are two great examples: We had an issue with our ferry tickets to/from Nantucket. We purchased round trip tickets on Hy-Line Cruises. Due to the timing, we purchased Hyannis to Nantucket on the high speed ferry (1 hour) and the return on the slow speed ferry (~2 hours). This was necessary because the 5:00pm high speed ferry on Hy-Line Cruises was fully booked. Once on Nantucket, we purchased high speed return ferry tickets with Steamship Authority, the other ferry service between Hyannis and Nantucket. Hy-Line cruises would not refund the return tickets on the slow ferry. They would only give credit toward a future far within one year. The next day, I gave the tickets to Donnie and asked him to give them to another future guest with our compliments. He graciously accepted, but then immediately went to work getting the money refunded. Within about 1/2 hour, he had pulled his Innkeeper strings and the money was refunded. !This! is the advantage of a GREAT Inn keeper! Thank you Donnie! The normal breakfast time is 8:30AM until 10:00AM. We needed to leave early one morning for a trip to Nantucket and Donnie and Katherine made us a great early breakfast. We really appreciated the special service and their willingness to please without us even asking. They may not be able to do this every time, so you should not necessarily count on it... We met some very nice people over port and sherry in the living room in the evening. That is a nice touch. Donnie gave us a quick tour of the main house rooms that were not occupied at that time. My favorite room was the Deming Jarves Suite. The furnishings are beautiful and the bathroom is quite nice. The stairs in the house are narrow and steep (it is a very old building...) If you have issues with stairs, you might consider the 1st floor rooms or the carriage house rooms. If you are planning a trip to Cape Cod, like B&Bs and want to meet some great people, stay at Isaiah Jones Homestead B&B.

We arrived here out of the blue on Memorial weekend with no notion of what to expect. Sadly, we had to leave again 5 nights later ! To say that we enjoyed our stay is an under-estimate. The homestead location is quiet and peaceful, but also within easy walking of all that pretty Sandwich has to offer. The homestead is set in lovely mature gardens, which we enjoyed using, and it benefits from off-street parking. We really loved out sumptuous Carriage House bedroom and very much appreciated the attention to and investment in the many small details that enhanced our experience even more. Our hosts could not have been nicer, more welcoming, or more helpful, and we looked forward every single day to another different, but ever delicious breakfast. We would recommend anyone to stay here and wish heartily that we could go back tomorrow !
"Look no further for a stay on the Cape"
06/07/14 Katchapuri Canada
We stayed in the Carriage House (Weeks Suite) for the past three days and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Katherine and Donnie are fantastic hosts and the rooms and common rooms are cozy and welcoming. The extra touches (sherry, port and delicious treats in the afternoons; grapefruits soaps, house branded lip balms, super fluffy towels, DVDs and library, fridge and glasses for your own wine or soft drinks, Keurig machines, to mention some but not all) are have been carefully thought out. Breakfasts were truly gourmet and delicious, especially Donnie's 'world famous juice' :-) and unique coffee blend. I came away thinking how I can improve my own home for future guests! Thank you Donnie and Katherine so much for your hospitality, humour and kindness. We will be back! J and A.
"A Serene Refuge"
06/06/14 Debbie W Marshfield, Massachusetts
This is how I experienced this refuge: a quiet street, flowering Rhododendrons, warn welcome, flowering violets in the beautifully English style breakfast room, birds singing and flitting in and out of nests, our cottage styled room in the carriage house, a w o n d e r f u l Jacuzzi bath, scrumptious food, Donnie's whimsy, Katherine's down-home heartedness, steps to the town, walking the boardwalk and beach leisurely, gentle kisses from "Sheree and Katie", comfy cozy in our bed with skylights open... Ah... and the memories that linger in my mind.
06/04/14 Edomcowgirl Edom, Texas
We have only stayed in one other bed and breakfast but this was such an amazing inn. Everything was so quaint and very clean. Donnie and his wife Katherine were so friendly and helped us to plan our excursions. Breakfast was wonderful. We will definitely plan on visiting more bed and breakfast inns in the future.
