"comfortable, clean and updated, paper-thin walls"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Great hotel for price. It was very clean and bed was comfortable which are quite important to me. However, walls seemed to be paper thin. Service was fine but we only stayed one night - got there late and left right at check out...Didn't make it in time for the breakfast buffet so can't comment on that. We went to Biltmore and downtown Ashville for our trip and it was perfect for us as far as location goes. About 10 minute drive to either location.
"excellent lodging"
This facility was excellent on all aspects. Like home away from home. Close to everything you need to see in Asheville, n.c. The price was a deal .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Like a small condo."
No ice maker in fridge...and no ice machine on property. Also, bed was small. Double??? We thought it would be a queen.Genuine Expedia guest review

Very clean, loved the room. It appears that the walls or ceiling is very thin because we could hear everything our neighbors were saying and doing. But otherwise very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
Everything was perfect with exception of a few things; the noise (just walking alone) from the condo above was distracting, and the futon in the living area really needs to be replaced (the cushions have no structure left). The concierge was great and the size of the suite was a pleasant surprise.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay in Asheville"
We've stayed here a few times. the rooms are nicely laid out and clean. If the hotel had food it would be better. It is close to hospitals, so it can get noisy at times. The views are great and it's close to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"This is a must stay location!!"
This was the nicest place we stayed on our Smokey Mtn. honeymoon. The people of Ashville, NC are the nicest in the world, and the Residences at Biltmore are the nicest place to stay in the world!! Don't miss this. Price was exceptionally low considering the amenities. Perfect!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful place to stay but word to the wise, choose a room that doesn't have someone above you. Our first two nights were unbearable! The people above our room were up all night and you could hear every step they made wandering room to room. It kept my husband and I up all night! The conceirge was very accomodating and moved us to the top floor for […] the next two nights of our stay. Otherwise, this is a wonderful place to stay with a full kitchen, fireplace, balcony, and W/D. Close to the Biltmore and shops! We loved it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Stay"
I have to say that when I first saw the hotel on Hotel.com I was not really interested because it seemed so residential. However we could not have had a nicer overnight stay. The staff was great, friendly and efficient. Check in was a breeze. The room was perfect and more than I expected. And of course the location was great close the downtown and close […] the Biltmore Village. I will always make this hotel my first choice in Asheville. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Couldve been a good experience"
We were placed in a disability friendly room which on the surface is no problem...but we didn't have any disabilities. The hotel was only 50% occupied or so. We could have been put anywhere. We had no view and our patio opened to a reinforced grass/stone wall. I could have complained but I didn't. At first the disabled room seemed no problem. But living […] it for 2 days, it is way different. Counters are too low in the kitchen. Upper cabinets too high. Lots of hardware in a very standard bathroom that we didn't need. Bath took 2 minutes to begin generating hot water. Shower very weak and designed for low flow. Soap/shampoo not replaced. Instead of hanging our replacement towels on day 2, they just stacked them on the sink in a kind of rude way. Bottom line, nice rooms, clean, but too expensive to put us into this type of room for no reason, and no attention to detail to make up for it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Some Management Quick Fixes Needed!"
At arrival, it took us 45 minutes to get someone to check the thermostat so that we could go from a room chilling 60 degrees to 72 degrees. My initial calls were directed to voicemail and it took two trips down the stairs to the office to get the attention of the staff. Maintenance man, Frank, had the problem fixed in a matter of moments--the thermostat […] battery connectors were loose and needed to be adjusted. Other thermostat issues included the absence of direct light at the level of the thermostat that hinders reading ability and the need of magnifying glasses to read the printed word on the inner door of the thermostat. Printed thermostat instructions would be a great addition to the welcome booklet and it would be nice if staff introduced themselves at check-in. After the thermostat issue was settled, the stay was pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Girls Weekend success!"
We had a girls weekend to Asheville and stayed here. It was beautiful! Nicely decorated, clean. You are close to Biltmore, Biltmore village and downtown asheville.(Like 5 minutes away) Great kitchen to cook in, they had all the dishes you would need. Even had a washer and dryer in your room in a closet. Staff was great!!! The fireplace will get you […] warmed up quickly! I can not brag enough on this place. "Sleepless Night"
Ask for a room on the top floor. The sound proofing in this hotel is HORRIBLE. You don't want anyone above you. You can hear every footstep and even conversations in the rooms beside you and above you. After the first night, we requested a top floor. The front attendant stated that the noise was there largest complaint. Secondly, the beds and pillows […] were extremely hard so the combination of the two did not bode well for a good night sleep. Lastly, check in was 4pm but our room was not ready until 4:30pm. Otherwise, the place was beautiful and well maintained. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Delightful surprise"
Wonderful studio with deluxe kitchen -even a washer/dryer. Huge bathroom and nice sitting area with fireplace and flat screen TV. Excellent location near the Biltmore and its villages. Parking can sometimes be a challenge and there could be more noise insulation, but overall it is like being in a vacation condo at an upscale resort as opposed to a small […] downtown hotel room. Would recommend it for an extended stay in the area. Beautiful complement to the wonderful Western North Carolina mountains Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Awesome room amenties but you can hear everything!"
This was my second stay at the Residences at Biltmore. We decided to go back because of the awesome room amenties ~ nice decor, fireplace, full kitchen, great bathroom, etc. The only reason I rated this below 5 stars is because we were awaken each day by the sound of our neighbors at 5am and throughout the night whenever they got out of bed. It literally […] sounded as though they were in the next room and staying with us. We didn't notice this the first time we stayed there. We explained this when we checked out and were basically told by the staff that they are well aware of the problem. They didn't offer a discount or any other type of satisfaction for this issue. What is more disappointing is that this complex has numerous buildings so IF they are aware of the issue, why wouldn't they spread people out so that they didn't have to experience this? Instead they cram everyone into the same building. I think, considering they are aware of the issue, they would be more customer service focused to figure out ways around the issue until they can correct it. Otherwise the visit here was very nice. Just plan to be up early and not sleep in! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sooo comfortable!"
We always look for a hotel with kitchen which is hard and often end up being a lousy little butler's pantry but this hotel offers a real kitchen with good quality equipment, even Celtic salt and pepper. We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was spacious with a great atmosphere (the fireplace was wonderful). We also loved the fire pit at the pool for […] the chilly evening. All around extremely homey and comfortable. We will be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Luxury on a mountainside"
My friend and I found this suite to be conveniently located to the activities we wanted to visit (Biltmore House, Billy Graham Cove Retreat, and the North Carolina Arboretum), and a relaxing, luxurious place to rest in between. Great views, wonderful outdoor spaces along with the spacious room and the cruise-type welcoming swan towels! We wished for […] more time just to enjoy the room, fire pit, mountain trails, etc. We suggest that the sign on the street be lit so that the address shows up clearly, and that instructions indicate that the entrance is actually off of Biltmore Ave. on a side street. It seemed there needs to be another parking spot or two on the upper level to accommodate one car per room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable stay but not luxurious"
Be warned the studio is a lot smaller then it looks in photos. Also the pull out couch is only a twin and sits at the foot of the bed. We expected the room to be larger. Nice free Internet. The fireplace was just an image of flames...kind of lame as we thought it would radiate heat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not like a hotel"
This seems to be a condo development that operates a rental pool of owners' units. We had a 1BR condo that was very spacious and was bigger than some 1BR apartments we've lived in. It also had a nice balcony with a great view but not every unit would have a view. Modern facility wide flat TV and wireless and full kitchen. No breakfast provided because […] it isn't really a hotel or inn. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
