Clean for a Tahoe room and for the price. The room is very well decorated but upon a closer look you'll realize you're not getting anything that special and the bed isn't as comfortable as it looks. The flat screen TV was cool and you get plenty of channels but HBO didn't come in well. I hesitate to post as I don't want to give the hotel management reason to raise their rates. I paid $50 for a Sunday to Monday rate. Well worth it. The Highland doesn't offer sweet roles for breakfast like the HIE, but at better than 1/2 the price, it's a no brainer--this is my new hotel retreat for Heavenly. The front desk staff was very good. beds are very comfy, room nice, TV great.... heater not so good, but at least they provide a large electric space heater in the room to keep it fairly warm. Bathroom recently remodeled also. Nice friendly service,clean and "confy" little motel. The only problem is if you have a first floor room it will be too noisy since the floors are hardwood, you will hear from upstair steps and noises at bedtime.Otherwise I recomend it .

Parking spots are a bit small and there is only one exit that we had to squeeze through between a car and a wall. We have a big car this wouldn't be an issue in a sedan/compact. I don't know if the rooms were set to 64 degrees or our thermostat was broken, but the heater would not go higher. There were no extra blankets in the room. We got there and […] went straight to sleep; didn't have a chance to call down for more. Flatscreen tv was a nice to have. Carrows is walking distance for breakfast. Floors are wooden so nice for sanitation purposes, but cold and slippery if wet. We were outside going to checkout and the owner told us that we had to wait until he got back from walking his dog. The beds were very comfortable, the television was a great size for the room. The one drawback was the water pressure of the shower. We would stay here again because of the close proximity to the casinos and stores.

We got two rooms, both were very clean and comfortable. Smaller bathrooms. Check-in and check out was easy. Much cheaper than other places within walking distance of Heavenly Gondola. Has air-conditioning unit for each room, it is a loud unit. We had no issues with noise from other rooms like some reviewers did.

They were adequate for what we needed and the location was within walking distance of the beach, casinos and restaurants. However, we had intended to sit on the beach to watch the Labor Day fireworks display--something they do every year. However, we […] discovered that we needed a "beach pass" to access the beachfront for that event. We were told that our hotel should have those for us. So, we walked back to our hotel thinking no problem. The hotel manager, Jeff, told us "they" did not send him any for this year but we could just tell them we were staying at Highland Inn. So, we walked back to the beach where we were then told that "Highland Inn chose not to be part of the association any longer and that is why they did not have the beach passes." We were out of luck. We were extremely disappointed and a bit frustrated with our Hotel for not being more forthcoming with accurate information. It was our 35th wedding anniversary and we had been counting on the fireworks event. We felt a bit deceived. We tried to get into some of the other beaches but due to the holiday, parking was impossible. Note that on any other day you can purchase beach passes.
