The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very basic and some in need of repair. The food served was good with some local flair. The location is quieter than West End and we enjoyed walking on the beach in early am. It is mainly a destination for divers. We snorkeled and snorkeling from the resort is not recommended due to boat taxis constantly […] going by even though the reef is within swimming distance from the resort. This hotel is probably 20 yards away by boardwalk from West Bay beach, Roatan's best beach. It is all the way at the northern end of West Bay. Since it is at the very northern end of West Bay, it's a bit quieter than some of the other beachfront hotels. The whole staff is really nice and helpful, from the front desk, restaurant/bar crew (Alex, Randy […] and Winston) and dive shop (Laura and Kelvin are great divemasters). The rooms are simple but clean, each room has a patio/balcony with hammock. There is a stocked minibar/fridge in the room and the prices are more or less the same as what you would pay at one of the local minimarts.The dive shop's gear was ok, some of the regulators looked a bit used but the BCs were pretty new and the divemasters are excellent. Breakfast is included and changes every day but it's a pretty standard american breakfast (pancakes, eggs and bacon etc). The bar/restaurant is a great place to grab a drink and relax after a day at the beach. The one thing I did not like was the steep charge for WIFI ($10/day), which was slow. This hotel had good reviews but we were very disappointed. The room had a refrigator but the bottle water stayed frozen. Towels were old and nothing to dust the sand off your feet. The pool was closed the whole time we were there. Staff was very friendly though.

The location is great, not too long of a walk to superb snorkeling. The happy hour drinks are OK, but you can find better, and less expensive restaurants near by. West Bay is great, go to West End for more night life.

I found Las Rocas to very quiet and tranquil. It lies at the east end of west bay and although the public walk trails right through the small resort itself it remains none the less very low key. The hammocks on each of the lovely porches provide unlimited sleep and reading time in an environment of swaying palm tress and very lush tropical growth. My girlfriend and I had a great time at Las Rocas Resort and Dive Center. We stayed for a week and had a blast. The staff was very friendly and our room was clean and comfortable. Just got back from a great stay at Las Rocas. We went for diving and were not disappointed, small boats , great guides and relaxed atmosphere, unlike the cattle boats that go out just down the beach. Unlike other hotels in West Bay this hotel doesn't have their own beach, so you need to walk (not too far) to the beach where you can rent beach chairs from one of the better situated hotels (15$ each) if you don't want to sit in the sand. The breakfast is different every day and usually not very nice, one day our room wasn't cleaned, reception is not […] very helpful or service orientated, there is a tiny pool (jacuzzi size) with a nice view however it was extremely dirty the day we arrived but cleaned the next day. Although the diveshop also advertises that they have fishing trips the man working there didn't really help me and said I could just as well ask one of the locals with a boat. Very restful, nice staff, nice location sort of ... and north end of West Bay. Restaurant okay. They make their margauritas with rum! but the Pina Coladas were great! Breakfast was one day tortea with egg, cheese and bean inside ... okay but ... next was poached egg with sausage, better. 3rd day was best ... some fried green plantain, beans, avocado, […] and sour cream. Great juice, coffee, cookies and bisquits, cereal available everyday. Quick walk along beach to several other restaurants (fosters and bananarama) and ferry boat for 50 limpera or $3 to West End. Internet is NOT free ... $10/day or $35/week. Pick up from airport but NOT to or from the ferry if going to LaCeiba. NOTE: Ferry to West End did not run two of our 3 days to very ruff seas, but unusual for this time of year (April). Sunsets were spectacular and differnent all 3 nights. Read more

Las Rocas is nicely located in West Bay a quick walk away (1 minute) from the beach. I found this preferable to being right on the beach because the crouds at the beach got kind of annoying sometimes, especially when the cruise ships were docked. The grounds of the hotel were nice and the restaurant was the best that we found in West Bay. (Try the fish […] tacos and the pastelitos!) The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The shower in the room was not very nice--sometimes the hot water would stop working until you turned the handle back and forth several times. The rooms were clean but kind of bare. There was no TV which was a pity because on rainy afternoons or evenings there wasn't a lot to do nearby. All the rooms have their own hammock outside on the desk which is very nice for relaxing (just wear your bugspray!). Our room had a couple of geckos that hung out on the walls but never bothered us. I found them adorable, but if you're freaked out by lizards, you might have a problem... Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. If I was going to go back to Roatan, I would certainly consider returning to Las Rocas. Read more

The towels had holes, as did the drapes. The drapes in the bathroom did not even cover the whole window, so people outside could see me pee. The receptionist was very unhelpful, and could provide no information on the activities that were available in our hotel. She simply said there was information in our room - what I found was a generic brochure […] on travel for the whole country. It wasn't till the end of our stay, that we found out their dive center would have allowed us to snorkel with the divers for cheap, along with other island tours. The drink charges at the bar were very inconsistent, it depended upon the bartender. We noticed the evening bartender would charge us more (this is not including happy hour), and couldn't help but also notice that he wasn't allowed to use the cash register - hmmm. The room was very nice, roomy, clean, neat service with little touches, flowers on the bed with extra towels...and we loved the porch, hamoc, overlooking fantastic groomed jungle gardens. This hotel was much more than we expected. The pictures of the little cabins do not do them justice. We had a standard cabin that looked out on to a beautiful ocean view. We woke up to the sounds of the ocean waves, warm breezes and the sounds of the makaws in the trees. The staff is abosolutely unbelievable: from wonderful island breakfasts, icy cold […] drinks and pleasant stories to go along with their smiles. They are proud of their island and eager to share its history with visitors. There is a small dipping pool to cool off in after your afternoon trip to the beach area at West Bay. The Hotel is simple but the dive center is great. Two problems: very little water in the bathroom make baths hard to have; and the breakfast is really awful, as it don´t have the simple: salted bread, butter, ham and cheese, and the staff made it worse to eat something different.

Recomiendo lo siguiente: Luz clara para las habitaciones, la luz amarilla no inspira limpieza. Reparar las fugas en los banos y tuberias para evitar malos olores.
