Coral Lagoon Waterfront Resort & Marina - Marathon

The home we stayed in was very nice. I would definitely stay here next visit to Marathon.

The resort and the marina are nice and conveniently located. Publix and Subway are only a few minutes by car. Make sure to contact the resort before 5:30pm the day of your arrival, to get the lock box code and the street# of the house you are staying in. We arrived after 6pm, could not get in touch with anybody for 2 hours and Expedia wanted to relocate […] us for the night after being on the phone with them for 1 1/2hrs. Luckily the ground keeper took a walk and found us stranded in the parking lot by 9:30pm. He had the code and was very helpful. No one was ever at the office. Our bed frame broke (and we're not a big couple). It obviously had been broken before and never completely repaired. Also the guest bedroom queen bed squeaked so loudly it made sleep difficult for the other couple we shared the condo with.

I was a little concerned after reading some of the previous reviews, but the price and amenities at the resort seemed like a great deal. I have stayed in far worse places in the keys for not much of a discount from the rates charged here. I booked for three nights the very morning of the day that I was going to arrive. When we arrived at the resort […] the check in went so fast I was surprised. Rory, the operator was friendly and informative and very laid back. He told me that since we were the last unit booked we were actually getting an upgrade to a three bedroom, stand alone unit with the best view in the resort. Twist my arm I told him. The unit we got was amazing. A full gourmet kitchen, relaxing great room and large deck on the ground floor was our first impression. The upstairs bedrooms had comfortable beds and two very nice bathrooms. The entire unit was decorated in cool tropical colors. Each bedroom, and the great room, had LCD TV's with cable and DVD players. This would be a great place for a family vacation. We did not bring a boat, but the dock outside was just 10 feet from the deck. These were a few boats moored in the channel. The pool areas looked great, but it was a cold weekend and we did not go swimming. The location was very good and in a quiet area. There were plenty of activities, dining and shopping opportunities just up the road from the resort. We ended up cooking dinner two nights we were there and found the kitchen to be well equipped. We did not have the housekeeping service come in while we were there, but daily cleaning is available for a fee. We found the accomodations to be very clean, other than lots of wall scuffs, likely the result of luggage being moved in and out by guests. All in all this was a great experience. I would definitely recommend the resort to anyone wanting a relaxing place in the keys. Read more

This place is brand new. It's not really a hotel, but private units/homes with two floors and 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. If stairs are a problem or you are handicapped, then it could be a problem. The two units we stayed in were two floors with a powder bath (sink and toilet) downstairs. That being said, I honestly can't wait to return! The units are […] gorgeous and the grounds are well maintained. There isn't any housekeeping, so no interuptions! You can fish right off your porch and watch the dolphins near the marina. If you own a boat and want to stop somewhere to anchor, this is the place. Our neighbors came down in their boat and had it right outside their unit. That's really what this wonderful place is intended for, but we'll be back even though we don't own a boat. Both my kids each got their own bedroom (no fighting) and the hubby and I enjoyed the wonderful places to eat that were very nearby. Grocery shopping is close and you have a full kitchen to bring home doggie bags. The units are well appointed and very tastefully decorated. My only issue was with the cleanliness of the floors. We all had dirty feet when we walked around barefoot while inside the unit. Other than that, we all had a great time and even my kids want to return soon...and so do I! Read more

Very friendly staff. This place is beautiful. I felt like home but on the water. My family enjoy the place. The pool area was not too nice but having a pool at home, I was too interested in that area. We had cabin 2. I this is the best as you have full view in the marina but is on the canal. Love it and hope to visit this place again in the future.

First let me start by saying that this was a GREAT hotel for the price we were able to get it at. If I had to pay full price I would say it was a bit expensive. Not sure how long the hotel has been there, but it all looked brand new. The location is perfect right in the middle of the keys and on the ocean side. I booked a two bedroom room and got ubgraded […] to a three bedroom for free. The room is basically a small house with a kitchenette with all top of the line appliances. I got probably one of the best nights sleep in my bed as I ever had in a hotel. Plenty of space for everyone in my party. The grounds well maintained and the pool was perfect. The only two negative things I would say are first if you have a boat and wish to use their ramp and park you trailer there it will cost you $20 a day. $5 just for parking your trailer which by the way was attached to a truck that was used to get our party there. Also if you want to simply park your boat by your room (not use any services just park it) that will cost you $75 a day. Lastly I got a great deal on the room and if I had to pay full price probably would not have chosen this hotel. However if money isn't an issue and you want a great hotel then this is for you. Firstly, Coral Lagoon is not an Hotel so it is diffucult to rate comparing to an Hotel. It is however, a lovely set of units or condos. Set in Marathon in the middle of the Keys it is probably equal distance from Key West and Key Largo. The units are well maintained and very comfortable and we had little to nothing to gripe about. If you are looking […] for nightlife or somewhere to walk to in the evening, or day for lunch/dinner/bar drinks, forget it. You will need to drive (though not far) The surrounding area is quiet and unless you go the Key West much the Keys are. (Key West has not got the All Day English Breakfast yet, but not far from it . If you are considering Coral Lagoon I would say a good choice - it is one of the better accomodations we saw along the Keys and a good base to travel the stretch of the Keys, Happy travelling !! De ligging van het hotel zeer mooi en rustgevend. er is echter geen actieve uitbating, het inchecken gaf veel problemen, na vele telefoons uiteindelijk code gekregen waarmee deurkaarten uit kluisje kon gehaald worden. Mooi concept doch vooral voor mensen die actief motor-watersporten beoefenen. men merkt wel dat door gebrek aan onderhoud delen beginnen […] na te laten.
