Units are owned by different individuals and agencies, therefore there is no central office to ask questions of. A notice board with numbers to call would help! Units are 2 storey, roomy and comfortable, and the 2 verandas are great. The kitchen did not have any s&p, sugar, etc., but was stocked with cooking and eating implements, and the appliances […] were very good. the washer and dryer were appreciated! The pool is very nice - central, wind protected, and quite large. The Major concern is visibility of the entrance, it's very hard to find - we used the motel across the road as our marker! Overall, it's very restful and a convenient location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cleaner would be perfect"
The resort was absolutely amazing. Perfect location, amenities were great, and the resort is small but so beautiful. We needed to clean up the room prior to settling in as it had hair and crumbs throughout the room. After we cleaned (swept up, washed a few dishes, and did a load of bed sheets just in case), we had the perfect getaway. Although we are […] from Hawaii, our stay was indeed a great tropical getaway. Same climate, great clean beaches for swimming and good fishing. I would stay here again even though I might need to do some cleaning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"New but neglected and run down"
The three bedroom villa had four beds. The king way ok but on the way out. The queen was on the verge of collapse and couldn't be slept on. One of the two twin beds was also broken. Luckily there were only two of us so my friend took the king and I skept on the twin. Over all that room had a layer of dirt and film on everything. Literally everything […] from the front door to the back door. Bathrooms were mildly straightened up but in no way would I say clean. The sofas were filthy. Other than that the location rules. You can pull you boat right up to the back porch. All in all if you're use to camping out, you'll be thrilled but for these prices I won't be back. Definitely spending my futures right where I spent my past, couple miles north at hawks cay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for boaters"
The condo was fine, but I would recommend the location for boaters since it's on a marina. The cleanliness was fair, but home could have been cleaner. The furniture is ok, older. The supplies in the kitchen were poor. Pots and pans rusted..not enough flatware and dishes for a three bedroom accommodation. More upgrades would make this a more enjoyable […] stay. "Manage your expectations"
* Site is nearly unstaffed. No front desk to ask questions of. Have a problem? Make a phone call, leave a message, and wait 15-30 minutes for a return call. * You need good cell phone reception in the Keys. You must contact management via phone to learn your assigned unit number and the combination to a lock box which contains the door key. Expedia […] reservation will say these details arrive by email - they won't. * The right parking lot is the MARINA lot in back, NOT the front lot. The front lot sidewalk leads to the BACK of the units, which confusingly have lock boxes but don't contain your key. One has to drive into the site, ignore the front lot, and follow a sign which directs you to the MARINA. There you will find another parking lot and sidewalks leading to the front of the units. * Wireless internet functioned first day, went flaky after. Nobody on site to fix it. Could have left a message - too much hassle. * Unit was furnished very well and was spacious to the extreme. * Units are well offset from the highway and therefore there is no road noise. Very quiet and easy to sleep here. * Bathrooms clean, showers nice, never ran out of hot water. * Price warning: Expedia initially quotes a two person rate, which makes the 3 bedroom units seem like an astoundingly good deal. When you go through the booking process and indicate there are 3 people in your party, the price goes up and the bill says its because of TAXES, not because of a 3rd person. We found this facility via Expedia and was very pleased. This was a "we'll send you your confirmation and lock box combination via e-mail" facility. I had requested the direct phone # from Expedia, and was able to call the next morning and get the info at that time. The facility was more than we expected. Clean, spacious, deck with rockers facing the […] water, quiet, TV's in every room, though we did not use them, Fridge, coffee maker, toaster. All four of us were very impressed. We had left a bag behind, and they called us within 5 minutes so we could go back and collect without too much inconvenience. We will definitely use again when in the area. Thank you. "private accommodation not resort as advertised"
We booked two days here expecting this to be a resort style complex with facilities. When we arrived it was apparent that there were no facilities on site at all betond the marina, which is separately operated. There were no on site staff to meet us and to deal with our issues, such as the accommodation having no pots and pans and no welcome/information […] pack. Stayed only one night and then got a refund for the second night. May be okay for larger groups with their own boats happy to do their own thing but do not book here expoecting this to be any kind of hotel/resort style property Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place if visiting the Florida Keys"
The resort was lovely. The outside porch area was particularly pleasant in the morning for coffee. Stay was not long enough to enjoy the pool - it looked very inviting. Unit needs a little TLC - towels were rough and thin, we had 5 in our party and only 2 coffee mugs - had to call - delivered next day. Also iron did not work had to call - replaced next […] day. Pillows were very hard in all 3 bedrooms. Dish washer did not work. Otherwise enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Conveniently located, very roomy!"
The resort and the marina are nice and conveniently located. Publix and Subway are only a few minutes by car. Make sure to contact the resort before 5:30pm the day of your arrival, to get the lock box code and the street# of the house you are staying in. We arrived after 6pm, could not get in touch with anybody for 2 hours and Expedia wanted to relocate […] us for the night after being on the phone with them for 1 1/2hrs. Luckily the ground keeper took a walk and found us stranded in the parking lot by 9:30pm. He had the code and was very helpful. "Looks great, but underlying problems."
No one was ever at the office. Our bed frame broke (and we're not a big couple). It obviously had been broken before and never completely repaired. Also the guest bedroom queen bed squeaked so loudly it made sleep difficult for the other couple we shared the condo with.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful location, condos are spacious. Only complaint was the silverware was filthy. I don't think that they were washed after last renter.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable but poorly equpped"
Kitchen was very poorly equipped and the upstairs balcony door had no lock on it. When reported, the mangers suggested that the owners didn't wish to improve the situation. Having said that the location was great and the place was very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Firstly, Coral Lagoon is not an Hotel so it is diffucult to rate comparing to an Hotel. It is however, a lovely set of units or condos. Set in Marathon in the middle of the Keys it is probably equal distance from Key West and Key Largo. The units are well maintained and very comfortable and we had little to nothing to gripe about. If you are looking […] for nightlife or somewhere to walk to in the evening, or day for lunch/dinner/bar drinks, forget it. You will need to drive (though not far) The surrounding area is quiet and unless you go the Key West much the Keys are. (Key West has not got the All Day English Breakfast yet, but not far from it . If you are considering Coral Lagoon I would say a good choice - it is one of the better accomodations we saw along the Keys and a good base to travel the stretch of the Keys, Happy travelling !! "Beautiful Place but needs attention to interior!!"
03/09/14 Hadfunatbayside Union, NJ
We just returned from 7 days at Coral Lagoon in #10. This place is so nice and picturesque but lacks the attention it deserves!! This unit needs alot of cleaning. Couches need to be steam cleaned. Walls need painting, Beds need to be replaced( very creeky as another person stated) Kitchen was very sparsely stocked! Not even a dish drain! We went right to the store upon getting there to get dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent and bleach to wash all the towels that were damp and some were ripped and actually looked like rags to wash the floor with! Kitchen was not even wiped down. Bought lysol wipes and washed everything down. toaster, coffee maker everything not cleaned. Washed all dishes we were gonna use ,. Refrigerator was all sticky and dirty inside and out! Bathroom on second floor shower curtain was full of mold from the bottom up about 15 inches. toilet paper holder coming out of wall. TV in twin bedroom was broken off the stand at the neck. Second bedroom had sheets on the bed that were made for I guess a twin size bed cause the bottom half had no sheet on it only a ripped mattress cover under it. Floors werent even swept papers and candy wrappers in corners. We called management company and told them they need to get someone here to clean up! They sent a women who didn.t even know what to do. My daughter told her to change the sheets cause they were full of stains, sweep the floor, and wash it cause when we walked in the kitchen our feet actually stuck to the tile floor. I really dont think they cleaned this room before we got there and honestly there is no one there to check to see if it was or not and if no one calls to complain they dont know or care.! That goes for the whole place inside and out. It looks like they may have had a front desk at one time because as you pull in in front there is a building which is closed up and there is a front desk inside where the office once was. Its such a shame because it it such a beautiful Marina but the place runs itself. Each unit has a different owner! We spoke to some people at the pool who said there unit was beautiful, clean well stocked with paper products, extra linens, pool towels, everything! We had nothing in ours not even and extra roll of toilet paper! So we spend time and money at the grocery store to get stuff that they said should be there. The owner is collecting the money but doesnt care about the people renting and paying good money a nite! They each also have there own cleaning people so you may get someone who cares and you may not. I rented through the management company but others rented through local real estate there or homeaway.com The pool area is nice but there is no one cleaning the pool or doing anything there except there is a guy who comes around and empty's the garbage's once a day. The only way we could sit on the couches were to take the sheets off of the twin beds in one bedroom and covered the couches with them.. Glad we didnt need those beds. There are no extra linens at all. If someone doesn't take over the day to day operations of Coral Lagoon very soon, people will stop renting because of the lack of care to this wonderful vacation spot and that would be such a shame!! But we did make the best of it and had a wonderful time! It is centrally located and only about an hour from key west. There are things in walking distance like curleys coffee shop and sweet savanahs were we had ice cream every nite!!Lots of great restaurants and beautiful sunsets! Just if you decide to stay here I would recommend booking through the owner and not the management company. It seems like people had cleaner and well stocked rooms when going through the owners.
"could be fantastic"

we first stayed at Coral Lagoon right after they opened in 2007. I have been obsessed with going back ever since. This past December we spent a week and really had a good time. If they took care of our concerns, the place would now be perfect for unit 15. 1) the box spring needed to be replaced, so noisy it woke you up at night when you so much as moved. 2) pots and pans and utensils were needing to be replaced 3) updating linens and towels were scarce the lack of an onsite manager was apparent. Supervision to make everything perfect was lacking because the units are managed by a variety of companies. Some do really bad and some do good, yet not great. The lack of day to day supervision is what is keeping this property from being the real Jewel it deserves to be. The setting is so amazingly serene and having boat slips a few steps behind your condo is a commodity that's near impossible to surpass…anywhere. PERIOD The pool is great but the cushions on the furniture was pretty moldy. That's because nobody is hands on there to stay on the details. These condos are all privately owned and that's part of the problem. Too many chiefs trying to control the tribe. If the owners of Coral Lagoon had a unified voice to have someone living there full time with hotel management experience (or aptitude) keeping maintenance items, housekeeping and amenities on a daily checklist so nothing goes unnoticed for the perfect experience for guests, this place should be getting 5 stars all day long, every day. Coral Lagoon is a truly beautiful and unique property. Missing details keeps it from being the most sought after property designation on the entire coast of Florida. PS - the manatee next to the boat is a pretty memorable experience.
"Another great vacation."

This is our second time at Coral Lagoon. Like the first time, our unit was clean, spacious with everything we needed. The resort is very quiet. We faced the canal, which makes for a nice view from the deck. Especially when manatees stop by.

the place we stayed at on Key Colony was unavailable but wanted to stay nearby, and Coral is within eye-shot of Sadowski Causway. We had a seamless transition upon check-in (self check-in) and the rooms were what we anticipated...very similar to the units on Hawks Cay. No pool and steps of course, but not to deter a wonderful stay in the best Key in the Keys..

I stayed in this gem of a resort with my family in May 2013. I was in unit 4. I have heard that some of the units are nicer than others, but the one I stayed in was in an excellent location, clean and well stocked. The resort was in a great location. If you are a boater or are looking for a reasonable top rate getaway - this is the place.

We needed a home large enough for 7 and a Baby.....found the perfect one at coral lagoon through coco plum vacation rentals. Large southern living style home with beautiful decks and plenty of bathrooms!

Just back from a great week at Coral LagoonOur group of 7 stayed at this property for 8 days / 7 nights...3 bedroom, 2.5 bath and a sleeper sofa...The townhouse was clean...the kitchen fully stocked with all you'd need to make most meals. The pool area was clean and quite pleasant. We had a dock just outside our door which was great for docking our boat (rental). I was worried about staying at Coral Lagoon because of all the negative reviews...We stayed in unit #18...Each unit is owned and managed differently...Unit #18 was flawlessly clean...and had plenty of towel, wash clothes, extra linen etc. The washer and dryer came in very handy as well. I wanted to compare Coral Lagoon to Tranquility Bay Resort, just down the street...Coral Lagoon and Tranquility Bay are built by the same builders...down to the decor...these townhomes are pretty much exactly alike. NOW Tranquility Bay has a beach...it sucks, but they do have a beach...Tranquility Bay has maid service (sometimes) and Tranquility Bay has a restaurant and Tiki Bar...they also rented Jet Skies...BUT I Tell ya for the money...I would stay at Coral Lagoon again, and again... We spent two days at Tranquility Bay and my kids just kept saying...Please take us back to Coral Lagoon. We like our place better...We like the small 25 unit property at Coral Lagoon vs the 87+ and construction going on at Tranquility Bay. While there isn't staff around at Coral Lagoon, you can rest assure that they are just a phone call away (CoCoPlum Vacations). They answered every call...and was accommodating to our needs...They even checked in to assure that we were enjoying our week stay there. WE DID!!! I would NEVER EVER Stay at Tranquility Bay again...at almost double the $$$ Tranquility Bay is only interested in collecting revenue,,,Tranquility Bay's front end manager Barry Reidy is the worst resort manager that I have ever come in contact with. Coral Lagoon gets my $$$ and high ratings! IF in Marathon...Do yourself a fava...Stay at Coral Lagoon (#18) you wont be sorry.
"Perfect for a wedding weekend"
07/29/13 stephandbobby Ormond Beach, Florida
We stayed in Unit 11 and everyone a part of the wedding were in the units along that side. The 3br/2.5 bath condo was beautiful and very clean. The master bedroom was very big but the other bathrooms were pretty small, it was a nice touch to include shampoo, conditioner and soap. Pool was great, management could have done a better job maintaining the bathroom. Both were completely out of toilet paper and you didn't want to go in there barefoot. Other than that, we'd definitely stay there again as a group or family, likely a little too expensive for just a couple.
"What a GREAT Place!"
07/03/13 Jim C Lakeland, Florida
We rented two 3 Bedroom 3 Bath units in May, 2013. We took our boat down for Dolphin season. The two units were identical and both were large, comfortable and very well furnished and equipped. Only small complaint was that there could have been more and better pots, pans and kitchen utensils. I guess it's hard to keep them though, so I get it. We stayed for a full week. Each unit had a boat slip directly behind it, which made it super convenient to go fishing every day. The place is right next to an awesome attached marina, complete with a huge boat barn where you can dry store your boat if you wish. The marina also has two wonderful fish cleaning stations, and a friendly staff. Also, there are boats available for charter there as well. The pool was a very nice surprise. Very large, private and gated. Our group was in it every day after fishing, and it was wonderful. From a location standpoint, it couldn't be better. 45 minutes drive from Key West, 35 minutes from Islamorada, about a mile from a nice little airport and two miles from a very nice Publix supermarket. There were some good restaurants in the area as well. Also, boat rentals were available from a place called The Island, located about a mile north of the resort, on the bay side. They also had a great restaurant/bar there too. All in all, we had a blast and will be surely coming back year after year.
"Good If You Find Your Way In"
05/23/13 StuartSussex Crawley, West Sussex, UK
This review is mixed, starting with the negatives. Finding your way into your property is a challenge, so arrive mid afternoon in the hope that you may complete the challenge by early evening. The experience is truly awful & I was tempted just give up and go somewhere else, despite having paid in full in advance. I get now why the owners get you to pay in advance. Having any chance at all relies on you picking up the eMail they send you 5 days in advance & a phone with international call access. Easy to miss if touring. This note told me my unit number & relied on me realising a Lock Box is the Keypad at the top of the stairs. I entered a code, then had to work out how to get the keys. Not at all obvious. Once the code was cracked, the keys then didn't work, so its on to Challenge 2. Onsite there is no presence and no contact phone or even telephone numbers to phone anyone. If you did get the eMail they are on there, but you need to phone the mobile as the office phone only trips to voice mail. It then takes 20 minutes or so for someone to come out to you. And more to get you keys that work. All in all it took us a good 90 minutes to get in having received the eMail with no real apologies at all. Now the positive bit. Once in, accommodation is of a really good standard & I must say I didn't find it that dirty. Not spotless but also by no means filthy. Also great facilities and good TV. I felt it was ideal for families or groups or people with yachts, but not really as an alternative to a hotel unless you want to use the excellent washing machine facilities there. The site certainly isn't a resort as advertised - just accommodation. There is a good Publix supermarket down the road and a superb drive through coffee place (Curlys) which you can walk to. And a great restaurant called Annette's about 7 miles away Westbound. To the property's credit, they give you great ideas for these in the welcome pack, once in the property. Overall not a bad stop, but completely ruined by the arrival experience which is the reason for my scoring. I really wouldn't stay again or recommend because of this.
