"Tres Chic close to USC"
This hotel has style. The lobby and restaurant/bar are sleek and contemporary. The room was inviting. Best of all was the convenient location for getting to USC and around LA. Metro stop 2 blocks away, Dash and bus stop right there. Excellent and exciting restaurants within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small, dark, not maintained"
Disappointing experience. Hotel online pictures not anywhere near reality. Although staff was pleasant and bar / restaurant is fine, the sleeping accommodations were way below expectations. Coffee and towel refill on 2nd day did not happen, lighting is poor and lack of window view didn't help. There was only one bathrobe, and it was shredded at seam. […] No tub. The hotel seemed to be for singles. Couples? uh uh. Three people? forgetaboutit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Odd Botique Hotel"
This was an odd botique hotel in the middle of a city block. Upon arriving in the morning we walked into a dark lobby and discovered that all the rooms, elevator, etc. was decorated in dark tones almost night clubish. Not very inviting nor left a feeling of comfort. The staff was great, very pleasant and accomodating. Unfortunalty that is all I can […] say about this hotel. The area was a bit ify, didn't feel safe walking around. It was close to the Nokia Theater where we were going but I would not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"At best, conveniently located for my needs"
An old building has been updated to make a "boutique" hotel, and the lobby is okay, but the halls and rooms are dingy and not particularly clean. The bathrooms are VERY small.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Misleading - On our Honeymoon"
We stayed here for 3 days of our week long honeymoon. I must say, overall it was a little disappointing based on what we expected. We weren't upgraded when we mentioned it was our honeymoon, which was fine. (Every other place did) Our initial room had an air conditioner that made a horrible noise, and we had to down-grade to smaller room with a smaller […] bed for the night. The next day we were upgraded back to our originally priced room, and received one that was smaller, had a worse view (also, when it says city view, it means the building across the street. There is no real city view), and less amenities than the one we paid for and had in the 1st place. We just dropped it and stayed in it. The internet was absolutely horrible. About 50% of the time we weren't even able to connect, and when it was connected it was extremely slow. There was a private connection that they gave us access to, but it was equally as bad. Overall the hotel staff was friendly, and was helpful with directions and things to do in the area. The hotel itself was misleading and disappointing based on what we were expecting. Don't be fooled by the modern, sleek looking photo's and the claimed "city view." It's wasn't all what it was cracked up to be. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For an inexpensive hotel downtown this is good. The rooms are a little dark. I wouldn't recommend it for business if you need to work. The sink is far from the bathroom mirror that had the best light. I couldn't put make up on as accurately. However, the bed was comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great staff, good location for what we were doing"
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is not well lit, either in the lobby or the room. Bathroom has a sliding door which separates it from the room, and there is a half inch gap, so you can hear well between the bathroom and the room. Having said that, the hotel suited our needs, we had a good night's sleep, and bagels and cereal for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small hotel downtown LA"
After searching through many hotels for a quick getaway I chose The O Hotel because it is located by LA Live which was where we were going to a concert (Nokia Theater). We checked around 5:00 p.m. before going to dinner and then the concert. The first thing that was surprising is that there is no parking at the hotel - no staff to assist with luggage […] - no valet - nothing. You have to park on the street or in the parking structure next door.. then come down an elevator, walk around (with all your luggage) out on the sidewalk and then enter the hotel. The staff is somewhat friendly. But not really overly nice. I was sitting in the lobby the next morning while listening to two of the staff members moan and complain about another staff member for about 20 minutes. Not very professional. A couple other things that are disappointing are; 1. The size of the room (so small) 2. A/C in the room is a bulky wall mounted a/c unit that is situated above the entry hall opening. You'd think with a full remodel/conversion of this place they would have put central a/c 3. The bar staff was not top notch. I had to ask 3 times for a lemon (while waiting 5 minutes) then I asked for more ice for my drink - they only give you one large ice cube. The bartender said she couldn't because it wouldn't fit in my glass. Hmm... I thought - well.. maybe I could get another glass with ice in it. 4. The bar/dining area doesn't open until 5 p.m. on Saturday. Nothing to drink til then! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Okay for the price, not as nice as photos"
The hotel is okay considering what you pay for it. Very small rooms with a very European feel (which is typically not good in my opinion). The room was clean enough, but not great by any means. I would probably not stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
(1.) The cost of the room did not match the Internet price of $199.00/night. The hotel claims it was no longer applicable and I was charged $229.00; (2.) When I checked in, I was told the bottle water was complimentary; (3.) When I checked out, I was told there is a "resort fee" even though I did not use the gym facility, the wi-fi, eat breakfast, etc. […] I would not stay or recommend this establishment nor would I stay here again. "Downtown boutique hotel with friendly staff"
My stay was short, but I would definitely stay there again. Room rates provide good value for a downtown LA hotel. "Great Hotel for a Little Stay-cation!"
We went to Asian Night Market at the LA Food & Wine Festival and wanted a downtown hotel for the night so we could enjoy the beverages. The O was reasonable, walking distance, reasonable parking right next door. Our room was comforatable, we loved the Contnental Breakfast and spent Sayurday exploring downtown - something we have not done even though […] we only live 1/2 hour away! "Hotel in downtown Los Angeles."
Upon our arrival, the room was extremely hot and we had to be moved to another room. Once we moved, I thought everything would be uphill from there but I was wrong. The shower caused the entire bathroom to flood and it seeped through to my suitcase and the front door. Also, the bathroom door is a sliding door which I thought was pretty cool at first.... […] Until it broke off the track and became nearly impossible to move. On top of that the rooms are tiny. It's a modern looking hotel no doubt... But it's definitely a piece of crap. I have to say I have always really enjoyed my stay although I feel some of the fee's aren't congruent with what you receive. For the imposed "amenities fee" you really don't get any amenities besides 2 bottles of water in your room (which I feel should be restocked daily whether you drink them or not!) and internet. The coffee/tea in the room were small […] and only for one person (again should be restocked daily), you don't even get any miniature shampoo/conditioner bottles as the shampoo is attached to the shower wall. They save money by not washing your linens or towels daily (for the greenies, which is fine because it is a waste of water) and even to get a "to go" cup for coffee you had to ask as they put them in office behind the front desk (I had to ask daily). The breakfast could have been a bit more well rounded (at least a hard boiled egg or fruit option). The restaurant is fantastic and the bartenders are some of the best in LA. I wish the full menu was available to take to your room however. The items on the in-room "to go" menu were quite limited. The parking structure next to the hotel is convenient. The hotel does not validate, but the parking fee is somewhat reasonable (but again is another fee you must account for during your stay). All in all, I would recommend the hotel and I would stay there again. Just wish they'd drop that ammenities fee or just tack in on the total cost of the hotel because the ammenites are weak. "Hotel smells bad."
Rooms are very small, and the smell in the room was unpleasant. When I walked in, the AC had not been on, so it was very hot in the room. The display on the AC remote did not work so it required guessing on the setting to get the AC to work. When I walked in, there was no one at the front desk. I left go get some food because I did not want to wait […] for staff, and two members were sitting around joking near the front desk. All in all, the hotel was just average, the lack of attention to detail and the smell in the room made my experience unpleasant overall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Location, beautiful Hotel, Excellent service"
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Located at the heart of downtown L.A., it's near the entertainment center, many excellent restaurants (some of the best in the city; go check out Bottega Louie) and the highways. Being a boutique hotel, the design of the lobby is modern and refreshing, with a beautiful and very comfortable restaurant-bar […] area. Rooms are very clean but limited in space. "Great "After Concert" Hotel Room"
Walking distance to Staples Center; granted the room is small but for the price...it was great! It was clean, very large comfortable bed, Google TV and nice continential breakfast in the morning. There is no parking at the hotel but there is a garage literally next door and is only $12 for 24hrs. When we checked in Chris was helpful with directions […] and gave me a free upgrade to a room with a large king bed and city view (the room I had booked had no view and was a queen). If you are going to a concert or game at Staples and want a place to crash for the night but don't want to be wondering about the bed linens or if you can walk on the carpet barefoot, and not spend more than you spent on your concert ticket...this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed. Plus there is a IHOP down the street for late night dining and a Ralph's market across the street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great restaurant! Smallish boutique style rooms but clean and comfortable. Great service!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I'd always rather stay at a boutique hotel rather than the big name chains like the Marriott. I had never heard of the O Hotel, but I took a chance and made out like a bandit! The price was great, and it is a really chic hotel, with great service and close to everything. It is also a block or two away from the subway system. I was there on business […] but also personal travel. The room was furnished in such away that I could spread out and get work done. But it is stylish and cool so it is appropriate for a romantic getaway as well. Star rating is probably appropriate at 3.5 because of the lack of amenities, but they make up for it extremely well. For example there is no gym but you can go to Golds Gym around the corner on a complimentary basis. SO I would rate my experience as a 4 star stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the money"
This hotel is not worth the expensive price tag of a "hip" hotel. The room was tiny and the bathroom was the size of an out house. We went to eat at the restaurant and the water had particles floating in it, when we brought it to the waitresses attention, she rolled her eyes and brought a new bottle which still had U.F.O 's (unidentified floating objects). "Cramped not cozy."
This room was shockingly small, the photos do not accurately portray just how small the rooms are. There was no dresser, the nightstands didn't have drawers, there was a rod for hanging clothes, but the height was very short so all of our clothes dragged on the ledge beneath. The shower is cramped, and there was no tub to relax in. The bed was extra-firm, […] if you like that. I don't. The lighting in the room was inadequate. And lastly, the view was a brick wall about 3 feet away. The room had obviously been "updated" but there was very little thought put into the comfort and convenience for the traveler. Everyone brings clothes on a trip, but there was pretty much no where to put them, so we lived out of our suitcases for 5 long days. Very disappointing for a "boutique" hotel. "in downtown LA"
The place was modern style. Done decently given most probable age of building. The room was on the smallish size (was OK with me). The shower was a bit funky, more style than function so the bathroom floor would get wet easily when showering. Otherwise the accommodations were fine. The LA Dash plus other buses have a stop just outside the building (or […] around the corner). Nice! Parking is the supreme luck of the street (for overnight only) or through parking lots (no ins and outs). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"O Hotel parking inconvenience"
The hotel itself was good. The biggest problem is the parking which the hotel has none to speak of. There is a public parking lot next door that charges $12 a day but you cannot leave and come back without paying again reach time which is hugely inconvenient and was not something the hotel staff informs you of at check in or at any other time..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay but be aware of the parking"
We had a great stay but the parking was pretty bad. the garage next door is not affiliated with the Hotel so we did not have in and out privileges. Had to pay $12.00 every time we left. Got a bit expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The actual room was good and bad. The bed and linens: very comfortable. The room itself was gloomy and smelled, so I didn't want to be in it. The bathroom shower head was odd, and I flooded the bathroom. I was told "that always happens". Please change the shower heads. That might be why the room smelled like mildew. "A little TOO minimalist in the name of "modern""
I noticed online that the hotel décor suggested that it was more "modern" in design, which is fine. What I didn't expect was the apparent assumption that "modern" should mean overly "minimalist". The second I walked into the room, I knew this was a bad move. Room size was small, but more disappointing was the bare décor. Walls have some type of sporadic […] gray/black streaking over the white paint. Design feature gone wrong. Just made the walls look dirty. Absolutely NO COLOR anywhere in the room. LITERALLY! No art...no nothing. Felt like I was in a black and white movie. Considering my window looked out onto a back alley between the hotel and the building next to it, I found the whole effect to be very drab. And don't get me started on the shower in this place! UGH!!! This is HANDS-DOWN my biggest gripe. They have this "uber-modern" shower fixture that looks like a microphone in a stand, which they've mounted to the side instead of the center of the shower, for some reason. With the nozzle in the mount, the water is shooting over your head to the side wall instead of down on you...like a shower should! The only adjustments allowed by the fixture (sliding the nozzle up or down on the wall-mounted pole) don't cut it because of the design of the water holes in the nozzle. You have to hold the showerhead in hand to actually rinse off. This was a NO-GO! As someone who enjoys my shower as time to wash off the day and relax, I DON'T WANT TO WORK HARD TO BATHE! And I won't be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
