Hotel Monterey La Soeur Ginza - Tokyo

Room was clean (small by American standards) and had all the amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton swabs, etc.). The front desk service was outstanding. Location is close to subway and within walking distance to the fish market. Taxis were easy to get as well.

This hotel is 5 minutes away from Tokyo Station by Taxi. 5 to 10 mins walk to the Yurakucho station for the Yamanote line and the Ginza station. The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Ginza. For an American, it took about a day to get used to the tight spaces. If you bring in more than two pieces of luggage, as my wife and I did, you have to get creative with storage. The staff speaks very good English, the world's lingua franca, so communication is not a problem.

Very clean room, good beds, terrific location,helpful staff only small problem was with the ventilation and that was minor. We had asked for a non smoking room and when we got to the room assigned, we smelled smoke. Immediately they got us a room that was absolutely fresh.

I have chosen hotel for 2 reasons (i) excellent location and (ii) affordability. Rooms are indeed well maintained, but communication with staff not always easy and room size is way too small. There are better choices with similar prices and same location, with spaceful rooms and thus extra comfort.

When I go into the hotel room, the bed is very dirty...and the room is old...the towel and bedding sheet aren't very clean....the entire hotel is super small..not just the room, the lobby too....Most important thing, no hotel bus that goes to this place...you have to take a your luggage and walk very far to get to the JR station to go to airport.

There is a tokyo metro stop right at the end of the block of the La Soeur hotel (ginza ichitome) and it is pretty much right in the center of all the ginza shopping - a few minutes walk from mitsukoshi and around the corner from harry winston,cartier, etc. The hotel was clean but the room is super tiny (maybe not by tokyo standards though). I was in Tokyo for business working near the Toyosu station, so I picked the Montery Ginza La Soeur hotel for its proximity to the Yurakucho subway line at Ginza Itchome. So I read all the reviews and they sounded to good to be true for the price. I was mistaken. The hotel was in a great location. I was cold most of the time. In the bathroom they left shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Way more extras then I expected. My biggest surprise was that the room was wired fro internet (not wireless) and it was free. All you had to do was hook in with the RJ45 ethernet cable that they provided and it was free. The front desk was very helpful and spoke pretty good English. They were able to answer all my tourist questions and point me in the right direction. They also had color maps of Japan and the train lines where they marked my destination. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in the Ginza. Read more
