Mykonian Mare - The Art Resort N' Spa - Mikonos Town

Our stay was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and polite, fellow guests were an international mix of classy people, the food was great, and the rooms were well appointed in soothing tones with interesting fixtures. The private pool and cabana area was also exciting surprise. I've already set dates to return next year!

The staff was friendly but the quality of the hotel is not what we expected for a 5 star hotel. The bathroom fixture was vey fragile. The water temperature was not consistent. Although the staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself appears to be fallen behind in basic maintenance and upkeep.

If looking for a good sleep and an excelent wake up this hotel is a great choice. It is not located in the busiest part of the island so is great for relax. To get to the port or beaches it is very easy to rent a moto a go out. Great and tradition breakfast. Completely worth it to have an ocean view room.

Very harsh title to my review, but clearly and fairly explains my experience. Hotel played smart by making us stay in a basic room, although my booking was for premium category. A beautiful hotel, a bit far from town, but we planned for this by renting a car, which I strongly recommend for anyone traveling to Mykonos even if you stay in town. It is easy to drive here, the town offers free parking in a very large lot to the southeast of town, and I recommend renting a car rather than renting one of the scooters and 4 wheelers […] that seem so popular: these leave you exposed to the sun and wind and sand. When we drove to the beaches, even the ones hidden away (none more than 20 minutes drive) we passed folks on the 4 wheelers braced against the wind going 30 MPH with their 50cc motors whining. There was no place they could go that our car couldn't go. At the hotel the private pools are cold (the constant wind makes them difficult to enjoy). Don't be fooled by the weather reports of a 5mph wind on Mykonos. The wind is never this slow except in the middle of town sheltered by the buildings. The bathrooms need to be updated, they have some rust and other wear and tear. But the rooms are incredibly romantic, the views outstanding, the breakfast fabulous (unlike others I have experienced in Europe). Read more

Our stay was most enjoyable. However, if there was one comment to make, it would be on the necessity of upkeep. Our curtain was missing hooks, therefore hung uneven. Our 1 sink was stuffed. The floor was chipping to where it wasn't all white. The shower in the commode area was badly chipped on the floor. The tiny piece of soap for showering and washing […] up with was laughable. While the Mykonian Mare is a bit out of Mykonos Town (only a 7 min drive), it's still an inconvenience and an expensive taxi ride (if you can ever get one; $10 E one way into town). Hotel is impeccable and quite the luxurious location you would expect of a spa-like resort with amazing ocean/town views from breakfast terrace and amazing pool area. I […] rented a small car to get around the island and the beaches, and to not be at the mercy of the taxis. Loved the Mykonian and most likely will return. It's far enough to relax and be away from town, but close enough to drive and spend the day in Mykonos town. Only bad thing, no wireless in rooms, which they fail to mention in Hotels.com. Only wireless found in reception area. I give this hotel 2 THUMBS UP, WAY UP! The staff was warm and friendly and they go out of their way to help you and to make you feel at home. Read more

Myconian Mare is a beautiful hotel on a hill 6 km from Myconos Town (Hora Mykonos), but in my opinion is less than a 5 star hotel as a normal person evaluate him: rooms are clean and nice but basic, refrigerator was not working and nobody took care to repair it for the whole week. Breakfast is good but basic and everything outside it (e.g. a simple […] espresso instead of a horrible american coffee) is charged separately. This hotel felt like it was about to go bankrupt and they were trying to find ways on saving money on every opportunity. Do not book this hotel without making sure that you have ABTA protection. There was no hot water ever, there was no clean linen, they would take away dirty towels and not replace them, the furniture was poor quality (think badly made […] Ikea), the wardrobe was so smelly that we couldn't put clothes in it, the bathroom was disgusting (even after we made them clean it again), we were right by the pool and the curtains were narrower than the window (so people could see into the room at night) etc..... The staff were friendly but not helpful and none of our complaints were sorted, even the curtains!!! I'm sorry but this hotel is to be avoided. We had to complain to reception every single day because something else went wrong. We asked to be moved but they told us they were fully booked (which was clearly not the case) which only leads me to believe that half the hotel must be shut down or they couldn't care less about our concerns. Mykonian Mare is a very luxurious hotel. The rooms are nice, and the staff was wonderful. Although, the bartender was a bit on the creepy side. This hotel is on the hill so the view is amazing. The diner room over looks clear blue water from the ocean. Overall I would defantly recommend this hotel, although it is about a 10 Euro cab ride to the city […] where all the clubs are located. at check in we were excited to be told that we had a room upgrade from superior to deluxe. The room took an hour to clean and we needed to remind the receptionist we were still waiting before we could enter. No one helped us with our luggage to the room, i'd have expected a 5* hotel to have at least done this. As we entered the room we discovered an […] upgrade meant we had a bath with a hand held shower rather than the advertised hydro-shower. On the flip side there were a number of plus points. The barman gave us free drinks as soon as we entered the hotel, nice touch. Aldo, the guy who shuttles guests around the island, was fantastic. He'd take you into Mykonos town, to the port, airport. He was quick, on time and entertaining. Unfortunately the rest of the staff let the place down. A few guests did get irritated by the pool staff who constantly turned the music around the pool up, even after guests started to complain. Overall the hotel was great, amazing pool area, great selection and breakfast and a very spacious room but just needs investment in service as well as facilities. Read more

Un hotel classé 5 étoiles, qui en réalité correspond à un 3 etoiles normes française, ou le personnel ne correspond pas au standing d'un hotel digne du prix qui est pratiqué par cet établissement. Il existe de vrai 5 etoiles sur l'ile de Mykonos, je vous invite à prendre plus d'info si vous souhaitez ne pas etre déçu.
