Very clean room, spacious for two people. Friendly staff. Very close to the airport, and easy commute into the city as well. The only drawback was a lack of amenities in the area; I didn't find any dinner options outside of the expensive hotel restaurant for days when we returned to the hotel early tired from sightseeing.

The only complaint I had was that the apartment suites had no direct connection to the hotel and you had to go out side down to the street and over then back track to the hotel which is where the bar and resturants were. Overall good price and lots of space.

I almost didn't make the reservation here based on some of the other reviews. That would have been a huge mistake! The hotel is not in the city center (you have to take the metro or hotel shuttle), but what you lose in location you gain in many other ways. The room was huge - in fact, we had a living room and bedroom with loads of closet space. The […] kitchenette was great! We bought yogurt and fruit at the neighborhood grocer's and ate breakfast in our room each day. We kept cold water bottles on hand. We even cooked fresh fish one night - the kitchenette is furnished with all the basics. The shower had a lot of features. We had independent AC control. The entire facility was modern and clean and spacious - all the qualities that European hotels often lack. Barcelona is an enormous city. Unless you can afford to stay along the Rambla or on the beach, nothing will be in the "city center." Get the most for your money staying at the Hesperia! Read more

The accomodations were very comfortable and the staff both in the suites and the tower were super helpful. The hotel also provided daily transportation into Barcelona close to the famous La Rambla location and city bus tours. Great place to visit and the accomodations made our stay extra special.

Aparthotel Hesperia Fira Suites is the next-door property of the newest Hisperia Hotel and Conference Center in Barcelona. It's located near the last stop of the L1 Metro. The Fira Suites are full suites, with a bedroom separated from the living area/kitchenette/bath area. It was a fully-equipped kitchenette with mini-fridge and 2-burner stovetop, except […] no dish towel or paper towels and only 2 napkins. We bought the buffet breakfast each morning over in the hotel which, compared to going food prices, turned out to be a good bargain. The TV in our suite only had 3 English language channels, all of the news/financial ilk...just slightly better than nothing...to watch. Check-in and out is done at the big hotel's reception desk next door, and all of their personnel, plus most of the bell staff, spoke good to excellent English. The hotel is untra-modern in design, so if you're seeking old-world charm in your hotel, this might not be the place for you. However, if you want a decent price, a very clean property, and don't mind using the Metro to get to and from Catalunya Plaza for your sightseeing, the Fira Suites could be a good choice for you too. The building construction, the rooms, the cleanliness, and comfort are quite satisfactory, though the location and surrounding is nothing to be excited about. We had difficulty finding this hotel by following what was indicated on the Google map. […] We actually overshot the hotel (walking with our luggage) by 1 km because that is what the map indicated where we should go. Now we realize Google map could not recognize the address of the hotel, but arbitrarily gave a location on the same street in the same city. It is surrounded by residential apartments, main traffic arteries, and parking lots. It does have a functional kitchenette for simple meal preparation. in fact, we used it every night we stayed. However, lacking supermarket nearby is a draw back for this otherwise fine aparthotel. We'd have to plan ahead, remembering to buy the necessaries before returning from a day's visit. Hotel is not in a very good location, but there are some shops. As others have stated there is a shuttle to the airport, but only at very specific times. As far as I could tell there is no shuttle FROM the airport -- so check that out first if its imortant to you. Good shuttle into town if you want to spend the evening, and easy way back on the metro. […] Carefull though, the L1 (red) line is sometimes accessed by walking through platforms for other lines (like L3). The unwary (like me) would sit waiting for the train on the wrong platform. Downtown Barcelona is a blast, and of course there is no shortage of good eats. The hotel actually has some suites as well -- which we had. The room itself was average, and wasn't really inviting (as such), but if was very convenient to unzip our luggage for the overnight stay. The breakfast wasn't free, but if you book it when you check in, you get a substancial discount. In the parade of shops behind the hotel, its easy to get a coffee and some baked goods. I thought the taxi to and from the airport would be cheap, but once the driver hit the "nobble" button (airport surcharge), the price doubled from that displayed. Don't forget to add this to the cost of your stay -- since it can make a moderate overnight stay seem a little pricey. Read more

The Fira Suites were outstanding. Check in was easy and staff friendly and knowledgeable. The location may not be in the center of Barcelona but we liked that....lots of park land around to walk in and a chance to see everyday people living their lives with their families. Not too much shopping around, but again that gave us a break to enjoy the peace […] and quiet. Convenient to be at the end of the Metro line. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's out of the city centre, but right next to the metro line (last stop on Line 1), so we could easily get to any place in the city we wanted to. It's also one bus stop away from IKEA and a big shopping center (Carrefour, Decathalon, etc.). As a five star resort I expected better service from the hotel staff, especially during the check-in process. The staff member at reception was not able to locate my reservation, delaying the process until another staff member was able to assist. They did not have enough clean rooms upon arrival so we had to wait even longer. The hotel is located close […] to the airport but a 15 minute drive from the city center. To avoid the cost of cabs, it was an often 25 minute train ride into town. Therefore, you have to take into account the extra cost of traveling into the city everyday. Cons: You will need to revalidate your keys every four days. Check-in time is 3:00 PM - not really convenient for overnight flights arriving in the morning. They do however try to get you an apartment earlier and will store your luggage while you wait. Pros: The apartment is just that - microwave, stovetop, refrigerator, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, […] kitchen sink and table for eating. Separate bedroom with a door. The place was immaculate, very well maintained while we were there. We didn't quite know how to work the air conditioner, so they sent someone to us immediately to show us how to use it. The price was very competitive. The location was very convenient: close to the metro and to the airport. The metro is easy to use and will get you anywhere you want to go in Barcelona. We made use of their airport shuttle on our last stay and saved 46 euros going to and from the airport. We also used their shuttle to go to Catalunya Square, which gave us a chance to see Barcelona above ground. The neighborhood was wonderful and very friendly. There is park next to the hotel and apartments. There is also a bakery that serves very tasty sandwiches, bread, croisants, etc. called 365.cafe. Very reasonable prices (4.50 euros for breakfast). Close to the bakery is a fast food store and a grocery store. I would recomment the gespachio, cured ham, cheese, and very good but very inexpensive spanish wine. Again the people were very friendly. You can easily reach these by going around to the back of the apartment building and then across the street into a square with an outdoors cafe and places for people to sit and talk to each other. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and available 24 hours per day in the hotel part (tower) next to our apartment building. It was nice having at least two tv channels in English - Bloomberg business news and the BBC. We should have brought a laptop/netbook. This hotel had NO carpet anywhere around or in the rooms. All the wood and tile made every sound echo. I slept great WITH earplugs. It had a kitchenette, living area, nice sized bathroom with an awesome shower, and a nice bedroom. They also offer free wi-fi. Breakfast was very good, but a bit costly.

The rooms are large and definitely have Air conditioning. Its not a big deal to walk 2 minutes to the metro strop but it does take 30 minutes to get in. Also dont want to come back late at night, sometime sketchy and metro stops at midnight. Overall nice hotel.

We did some research and the Aparthotel Hesperia Fira Suites more than fulfilled our expectations. At the end of a great week in Spain, we planned to stay in Barcelona and enjoy the Bari Gotic and shopping along the La Rambla. If you are here for a short period, you don't need a car. Call the hotel from the airport and take their shuttle or take a taxi […] if you don't want to wait. The subway is very close to the hotel near the hospital (a 5 minute walk), and you can get off at La Rambla in the center of the old city. We were offered a discount for the breakfast on arrival and had a delicious meal before taking the hotel shuttle to the airport for your flight home. We only speak limited Spanish and the hotel staff are very friendly and will help with anything you need. Read more

This is a great place to stay if you don't want to be in the city of Barcelona, It is the last stop on the metro system, and the Barcelona card is a great way to see everything. But it does take a while to get to the inner city. The food is great and the staff is very helpful.

Second year that we stayed after a cruise to spend some time in Barcelona. Very good hotel, better value last year, prices were up approx.$20. About a 25-30 euro cab fare from the cruise terminal. About 20-25 euro from the airport. They offer a shuttle from the airport but NOT during Siesta Time !!! If you need to get to or from the airport during that […] time yo have to take a cab !! Also free shuttle to and from the airport does not run before 7AM. If you have an early morning your left with having to take a cab. The shuttle also runs at no charge to downtown on a reasonable but limited schedule. The METRO is very convenient and is approx. 2 euro each way, it is the Red line. All in all a fair valued hotel with some inconveniences. If flying early a hotel nearer the airport is probably a better choice.
